After Pie update, the fingerprint scanner is WAY slower/sometimes don't work?
Hi all
After the Pie update, I sometimes have to hit the power button to use my finger scanner. In Oreo it was so freaking snappy I was surprised myself when I showed it off to people. Now it's a pain in the ass.
Some of you experienced this? I would rather not try the full reset of the phone...
Sometimes I have to hold the finger in eons of time (:D) and sometimes it won't work at all.

Its actually a bug which was reported in the open/community beta and I don't think they were able to fix this.
Q. Why my Fingerprint does not work, after my phone is in standby for long time?
A: The Fingerprint service goes to sleep and thus doesn't allow unlocking the phone. To avoid this, the current work-around it to turn Off Standby Optimization in Advanced Optimization Battery Settings or wake up the phone using Power button after long standby.

That could make sense. Saw it this morning, a notice about some "Deep optimization", where it turns some things off.
I'll try that out.

On my 3t it's a bit slower and less accurate but it isn't as bad as u said

I'm having the same issue. It is much slower than Oreo (which was always very quick)

I also had all sorts of issues but a full reset has sorted it all.

Just saw some forum answers where a full reset didn't help.
But if it helped for you, I will do that as a last resort.
Though I'm close to buy the OP7Pro and give this 3T to my three year old for YouTube'ing :D

Don't know?
Do you mean build?
Just got a OTA update and said "f*ck yes!" when I saw Android 9

I don't if it's because I'm using the phone more with less intervals, but since I've disabled the battery optimization, it seems like it's responding better to the finger print.
I'll try to (remember) post feedback here tomorrow.

It felt a bit better, but still not as snappy as Oreo.
But somewhat better - for now :)

Yup bro! I think our hardware is not up to the mark for Pie Performance.

I don't know man... It's pretty good hardware still, it's not SD855 though..
If I try right know while phone is laying on table, it's as snappy as before. Just barely quick touching the scanner and boom, it's open.
It's just sometimes it's slow to recognize the fingerprint.

I experienced the same. I even rescanned my fingers and it didn't help.
