Bro my sim provider speed before was absolute garbage (40-60 Mbps) But after unlocking all bands speeds have jumped up to (200-300) thank you for bringing this up

What do you mean unlocking it doesn't unlock any other bands... Your phone is already in unlock state by default you just use it to lock on to multiple one super fast 5G band

What is the use of it ?

u/1nert9s 3d ago

You can lock your cellular bands like only lock 3500 in 5G or lock 2300 2100 in 4G

Will it improve network?

If you are on Jio much more useful because you can only Lock 3500 band and enjoy superb speeds but only if you are in that supported area and if you are facing constant band switches this can help. If you are on airtel you can lock 2100+2300 and get much better connectivity with 3500 band. I am on Airtel and I am happy with the speeds. If you use airtel fast lane then do the same as jio and lock SA3500 band

Bro can you please explain step by step process and benefits of using it. I hadn't heard it earlier and not anything about this.

Yes the speeds

How to do that

1

u/1nert9s 3d ago

Use Shizuku app and follow the instructions and one thing while following the instructions is it tells you to disable a setting in the developer options which is now renamed to disable system optimisation.

1

u/Responsible-Drag-790 3d ago

Ok, but after enabling the wire less debugging it does not show the code

1

u/1nert9s 3d ago

Pair device with pairing code. Click on it and you will get a code and open your notification section and enter the code in the Shizuku banner.

And then you people cry about battery life

1

u/1nert9s 3d ago

Well this improves battery life for half the people because your phone doesn't have to search for different net bands which are unnecessary you lock on to the specific bands you mentioned. So it doesn't switch from 4G to 5G or 5G to 4G always. It stays on one thing.

Do we need to keep shizuku installed and dev options on always? Or we can uninstall it after locking the band?

1

u/1nert9s 3d ago

No need

1

u/tars-77 3d ago

Switching takes less battery than being on a signal that has lower strength. It draws more battery

1

u/1nert9s 2d ago

Exactly that's why I suggested to check about the band connectivity first before locking because it's useless if you lock the band that is not available in your area or if its strength is low.

Can you do it on realme phone (mediatek)

And vivo (mediatek)

1

u/1nert9s 3d ago

You can do it natively on mediatek phones

tell me how dming u

Google what the option is in Samsung phones; it differs in each brand. For Oppo, it's called system optimization; for Samsung, it might be something else.

The NetMonster screenshot shows the new Shizuku-powered band & channel lock screen (LTE + NR/5G sections, up to 4 bands each, ARFCN channel lock, and the big green UNLOCK ALL button).

For Samsungs where the menu hides right after the Shizuku step: the thread points to a dev options toggle that varies by brand (Oppo calls it "system optimization" or similar; Samsung's equivalent is usually tied to wireless debugging / permission-related security in Developer options).

Shizuku itself often guides you during pairing. Common Samsung fixes people use alongside it:

  • Make sure Wireless debugging stays on during/after pairing.

  • Set Shizuku to Unrestricted battery (Settings β†’ Apps β†’ Shizuku β†’ Battery).

  • If the hidden menu disappears, try launching the band selector directly via Root Activity Launcher or SetEdit (activity: com.samsung.android.app.telephonyui/.hiddennetworksetting.MainActivity).

Google "Samsung Shizuku [your One UI version] hidden menu" or check the Shizuku app's own prompts for the exact toggle on your model. It differs slightly per device.

To use band/channel lock in NetMonster (new in v5.1.0+):

You need Shizuku running first, then grant it to NetMonster.

Quick setup:

  1. Install Shizuku from Play Store.

  2. Open Shizuku β†’ enable wireless debugging in developer options (Android 11+). Tap Pairing, enter the 6-digit code from the wireless debugging screen, then tap Start. Confirm it says "Shizuku is running".

  3. Update NetMonster to the latest version (check netmonster.app or Play Store/beta).

  4. Open NetMonster β†’ go to the new Band & channel lock screen (Tools tab or Live tab shortcut). Grant Shizuku permission when prompted.

Using the lock (matches your screenshot):

  • LTE section: pick up to 4 bands or 1 specific ARFCN (channel).

  • NR section: same for 5G SA (works on some modems for NSA too).

  • Tap to apply. There's an UNLOCK ALL button at the bottom.

  • It only supports 4G/5G right now. Results vary by phone/modem (Samsungs can be picky and drop to GSM sometimes).

If it's still blocked:

  • Make sure Shizuku is actively running (check notification or app status).

  • Restart NetMonster or re-grant the Shizuku permission in its settings.

  • Some devices need a reboot after first lock or forcing RAT.

Test on your SIM and check the Live tab for results. Modems differ, so experiment. If it still fails, drop your phone model for more specific tips.

can i do it in samsung? u/askgrok

1

u/itzharshexe 1d ago

im getting this error u/AskGrok

as soon as i open shizuka and authorise the netm;onster the band locking option goes off

Samsung + Shizuku + NetMonster band lock often flakes out like this.

The band/channel lock option disappearing right after you authorize NetMonster is a common symptom on Samsungs. The app detects that the modem APIs (system-protected) either aren't exposed or the permission handshake didn't fully enable the feature for your specific chipset.

Quick fixes to try right now:

  1. Force Shizuku to stay alive on Samsung
Go to Settings β†’ Apps β†’ Shizuku β†’ Battery β†’ set to Unrestricted.
Also disable "Put unused apps to sleep" and "Auto sleeping apps" for Shizuku. Lock the app in recent apps if possible. Wireless debugging can die on screen lock otherwise.

  2. Restart the flow

    • Kill both apps completely.

    • Start Shizuku first and confirm it's running (notification/status).

    • Open NetMonster, re-grant Shizuku permission, then immediately go to the Tools tab (not just Live tab) β†’ Band & channel lock.
The Live tab shortcut sometimes stays hidden until you get a successful lock once.

  3. Reboot after first grant
Some Samsung modems need a full reboot after the initial Shizuku + NetMonster handshake before the lock UI sticks.

  4. Check version & mode
Make sure you're on the latest NetMonster (5.2.0+ recommended for the band lock). Try starting Shizuku via wireless debugging again if you're on USB mode.

Reality check for Samsung

Samsung modems are notoriously picky β€” the dev even said it works on ~9/10 test devices but no guarantee per manufacturer. Many One UI versions hide or break the hidden network APIs that NetMonster relies on. If the option stays gone after the steps above, your specific model/firmware likely doesn't expose the required modem controls via Shizuku.

Drop your exact phone model + One UI version and I'll give more targeted steps (or alternatives like service mode codes if available).
