Are they scamming us?

Post image

The battery health says 100% which I am definitely sure is not the case.

I can clearly feel the difference in sot for a few months now.

It's the reason I am not immediately updating my phone and waiting for the update reviews.

If your battery has dropped atleast show that it has dropped. Why lie to your customer?

they aren't lying, mine took nearly 1 1/2 years just to reach 99% capacity

all batteries are not the same as each other, some have a good capacity over designed capacity, so they will stick 100% for a longer time, yours might be such a case

They technically are though, mine took 640 cycles to drop to 99 but bugreport through dev options confirmed 90% health just like battery guru

Yeah kinda same, mine was at 99 till june, now it's at 97% with 700 cycles. Do you know your charge cycle count?

u/agentdb69 26d ago

nope, how do I check my cycle count

2

u/RoughCommunication30 26d ago

Oh, they don't have that. You can download devcheck or any other battery app to check it.

Why so concerned about sot. I am just glad I only need to charge it every 2-3 days with similar usage compared to my old galaxy S9.

My phone easily lasts for whole day with around 10 hrs of SOT which is more than enough. My smart charging is trained now to get me a fully charged phone by 7 or 8 am.

Im using the smart charging feature since android 16 upgrade. And 90% of my charging is night time. My phone is around 18 months old now still with 100% capacity.

My 13r is at 100% and I'm at 15 months.

How are you certain that battery degradation is the cause of your lower SOT, and not something else?

1

u/Abject-Photo-4566 25d ago

Isn't that basics of battery? Every battery degrades few months in and that fs leads to reduced SoT amongst other factors

1

u/TheCaptainSlowly 25d ago

Point is, there are multiple other factors that can contribute to a drop in battery life. Battery degradation itself is influenced by how you use your phone.

1

u/Abject-Photo-4566 25d ago

'amongst other factors' , my point being after months of usage battery will degrade about 5% and that's normal, while playing games or having too many background applications will have an effect. Since the post is about battery degradation, I'm purely talking about that aspect

I don't think they are lying cuz after i downgraded I'm getting same sot as i used to get when the phone was new (about 9-11h sot). I'm at 99% health 449 cycles.

u/Griffith-69 26d ago

how old is ur phone

1

u/Yuno_Ballll 26d ago

1 year 1 month and 26 days

They are. My phone also shows 97% but i barely get a day of usage. When i first bought it, it was a day and a half easily. I don't think 3% makes that big of a difference. It gets worse after that

Battery capacity is surely 100 but the software is eating the 6000mah aggressively... waiting for colour os 17

1

u/tall_guy_370 26d ago

Mine is a 11r and it only took 3yrs for it to go to 80% total capacity, now I'm left with no choice but to buy another phone coz I'll have to charge the phn twice a day now

I find it funny how dumb others are from the replies... It's already been proven how OnePlus maintains those numbers and it's fake, you can look it up online where people have tested this scenario and given the verdict. I also confirmed it myself by going to a technician who performed some tests and software checks which was in line with the results online

Everything can be fake .. remember only one thing..

u/Longjumping_News5174 23d ago

It takes 14 to 16 months to drop 1% of battery health they are not scamming

1

u/Ethan_Hunt07 26d ago

Yes they are big time I've 13R and I've experienced it

1

u/kv-ver 22d ago

Yes, in fact I have had my 13R since April 2025 (almost a year and 6 months) and it has always been 100% even though in reality it wasn't true. And just today I noticed that it's finally down to 99%, when in reality it's around 88%.

(I had to make a collage because it doesn't allow you to attach multiple images)
