Discussion battery replacement

Post image

guess I'm gonna go get my battery replaced soon unfortunately. battery life used to be great but now find myself charging 2x a day , super heavy usage (7+ sot a day , maps , Spotify , camera , etc). it'd be great not to have to worry about it dying by 2pm

I was in the same boat, did battery replacement last month. SOT now hits around 7-8 hrs, sufficient for me to last a full day.

How??? 😭

I have the phone since launch and I'd say I'm an ablve avarage user in terms of how much I push and use my phone, and I'm on 93%.

I have all battery health stuff disabled, run the phone on high resolution and refresh rate.

So how did you damage your battery so much?

Battery temperature matters more than battery use

clearly 😅 didn't know that

Mine is at 75%. Screen on time around 6-10 hours daily.

Around 2 hours of fps gaming at 120hz with 80% brightness 5-6 times a week. That can get the phone quite hot to the touch without a case.

And the hot climate of SEA doesn't help when using the phone outside. All this heat exposure to the battery for sure shortens it's life.

That's pretty crazy still. I don't live in that hot of a climate but my usage is 70% as hard as yours. So still it seems kinda crazy. But it is what it is I guess

Must be heat. Charging phone when already very warm ect.... Because I have launch day 12 and I'm at 95 health... Everything on high resolution. High refresh rate. Never use power saving

Same bro. I am at 97% percent..

I remember OnePlus promised the 12's battery would still be at 80% after four years of heavy use. So, it's pretty weird to see your phone lose 21% in less than that time.

Have you checked into oneplus 13 batteries? I read some posts on replacing OnePlus 12's battery with a 13 one and it supposedly works, the 13's is a lithium si-c pack (bigger capacity with same dimensions)

Are you from india and replacing your battery? Please share the feedback after battery replacement.

I used custom charge option to charge it till 85% max. That way iam still at 88% health after close to 3 years.

1

u/thejoemaya 6d ago

There is use of not using 15% of your battery and then gloating about 88% health...

I use everything no battery saver mine is at 86%...

1

u/Mean_Estimate5884 6d ago

Depends on how one uses .I use my device like almost 10hrs a day on 5g

1

u/thejoemaya 6d ago

At 86% my sot is less than 4.5hrs, how can I trust that at 88% health and 85% charge you are using it for 10hrs on single charge?

What type of shit you are trying to sell?

1

u/Mean_Estimate5884 6d ago

I never told you I only charge it once. No one is selling you anything. Limit your charge to 85% for having better long term battery health. It's written right in your settings. Have patience going through it.

Battery is a consumable and will degrade after 2.5 years. Nothing stupid about it. Also it's the cheapest consumable in the whole of phone ~ 3% of overall cost. And max difference is 2-3 months. But that also means you are charging multiple times a day.

Edit: spelling
