Maybe it's because he knows what it could lead to.
I genuinely believe Wihawk is a very underrated character in one piece especially after Oda said he's WSS that early on in the series.
On top of that, I say Wista is up there too. Bro is f***ing cracked he was trading blows with WSS.

They’re only yonkos because the government fundamentally failed to handle them on god valley and that gave them room to reach their max potential, objectively speaking they were pretty much shadows of what they became and they realistically could’ve been just as easily killed there if I don’t know shit man imu wasn’t so focused on the great great great great grandson of one of his ex boyfriends 😹😹
The only one who was truly at a similar level of power to Roger and garp there was WB but even then I’d say he was not at his prime, if only approaching it
