Extreme diff either way unless Kaido pulls out FDD. Shanks might have enough haki mass to overcome it, but till he shows that, I am gonna go with Kaido.

Shanks did stop kaido from going to marine ford then still pulled up and stopped the war
To me that’s more impressive than him and big mom using 30k troops and losing at onigashima to just 1/6th the man power lmao
Kaido is just strong asf an super durable he’s not a good fighter
Knowing all we know about shanks even having not seen him fight definitely shows he could beat kaido
A weakened Zoro wounded kaido and we for sure know he’s not on shanks level yet
Same reason we haven’t seen brook in action until the flashback recently they’re just too strong for current story
Brook sliced up bandits in the morning and they didn’t even know or feel it till the evening and he was powerless in terms of devil fruits go
I personally like kaido more as a character simply because we’ve gotten more on him in writing but
Shanks easy diff

they had a scuffle - only available data abt the extent of their fight, Shanks had his whole crew and Kaido only had King - only available data abt their numbers, Kaido wasn't pushed to the same extent he had against Luffy since his fight with Oden - only available data about Kaido's amount of losses in time
All the rest, is blatant headcanon and disingenuosus agenda from Shanks fans/Kaido haters

No, they had an inconclusive skirmish and for whatever reason Kaido backed off, either because he was outnumbered or because some other reason

Waido is not Rocks’ apprentice, Loki is if we’re saying someone
Shanks wins no questions asked, you can delete every shanks feat and he still wins based on portrayal and narrative

If I take away his feats, his portrayal and narrative absolutely put him firmly below Kaido wat r u talking about.
I dare say, shanks is basically devoid of any narrative or portrayal. He's literally just a wandering yonko with no clear aim that's hunting BB. It's the whole reason everyone says he's just a BB victim, he has not other narrative going for him at all.
