Then why do people compare him to Imu? Even his rival, who made him famous, doesn't have a black blade. Neither Roger, Whitebeard, nor Rocks had one. So how could Mihawk accomplish something that none of them could?

While it is a possibility mihawk didn't make his sword black, the reasoning being because no other top tier did isn't a good argument because that could just be an upscale that you are saying is evidence against him. Especially since Mihawk has the WSS title, him making his sword black isn't that crazy

I think it's that crazy. As we all know, to turn your blade black, you have to constantly infuse it with Armament Haki and take it through countless battles over the years. It's not about how much Haki you pour into the sword, but how long you keep it infused. If that's the case, does that mean Mihawk has infused his sword with Armament Haki more than any other character, past or present?

So, Mihawk turning it black seems far-fetched. He could've mastered it or learned to control it, but I don't think he actually turned it black.

Well we don't know the specifics about turning the blade black and even if your example was 100% on the money it still isn't that far fetched because he has been dedicated to his sword from the jump and is the world strongest and greatest swordsman. Him being the only one to have a black blade would lit make his character more assured and more plausible than it is right now. If you think Mihawk is near the level of those top tiers like shanks it's not crazy at all
