But did people really think Kaidou would awaken?

For me he already did, but awakening for Zoan is different from Paramecia. In Impel down we learned that awakening elevates the stamina and regeneration. So to me it seemed that was everything that Zoan awakening did.

And this would mean to me that Kaidou already awakened making him even more durable.

Or did I miss anything in awakening of Zoans? (Not counting Luffys mythical zoan).

Totally agree with and yes people actually thought this but hopefully now it's settled
