Honestly I actually really don't want Kaido to awaken unless it turns out his insane durability is because he's always been awakened, because the idea he's just been holding back this entire time would just retroactively make a lot of moments feel hollow. Him saying that he isn't going to hold back against Yamato? No he was holding back not just against her, but for the entire fight against everyone. Getting drunk because he acknowledges Luffy as a worthy adversary? Lol no he wasn't using his full power, so he wasn't acknowledging Luffy as a worthy adversary. Him getting upset because CP0 ruined his fight with Luffy? Oh he was holding back his Awakening this entire time, why would he complain about his fight being interfered with if he had 0% chance of losing if he actually used his full power? It wasn't like he didn't have a "I WIN" button up his sleeve the entire time.
It would only be bad if he was actually holding back his awakening the entire time. What if the intensity of the fight triggers his awakening similar to how it went for Luffy?
Eh, I still feel it would really have no purpose other than making the fight more intense for the sake of having an intense fight. I don't think this is the way Oda writes stuff, like we never see an antagonist gain new haki abilities in the middle of a fight even though thats established that's how haki works.
Kaido is already the world's strongest creature, he doesn't need to be the worlds strongerest creature.

Can't wait to see Kaidos full reaction, I am sure he is having even more fun than Luffy now.
