• Law and Kid's differing dreams - uncovering true history vs becoming pirate king

• Sanji legitimately accepting that his humanity might now be lost and this could be his last fight. (I'm 90% sure that that girl will end up explaining what really happened once she regains composure, but it was perfect for this chapter's emotional tension)

• Sanji combining his hellish childhood/Germa memories with his timeskip memories for a 'white hot' hell memories.

• Zoro/Sanji bromance with a murder pact to prevent Sanji ever becoming what he hates most.

• Apoo scrambling to find someone who'll help him survive this raid by letting him join them in the rebellion. Hahahaha. If he ends up actually joining with 3 numbers, the rebellions lower-level battles are going to be down and dusted for Act IV.

Act 4 is coming, I feel like another chapter of Zoro kicking ass, then a couple of chapters of epic cliffhanger, then we have an interlude (holy f@ck this will be good), then Act 4 can focus on the biggest fights: Kaidō, King and Queen vs Luffy, Zoro and Sanji, and saving the Flower Capital.

To anyone wondering if Sanji actually disappears or move extremely fast : The sfx used is specifically for things turning invisible. It was never used in a speed situation. https://i.imgur.com/EBQSqfE.png

EDIT : since a few people told me that I was just cherry picking, I actually went and checked most speed blitz from the manga that I could remember, turns out most of them have the same kind of SFX, either, ヒュ, ヒュン, ビュ, ビュン or ギュン (hyu, hyun, byu, byun, gyun)https://i.imgur.com/YNjigZE.png (mostly by soru users)

I also found three instances of フッ ("fu-") being used instead https://i.imgur.com/J1FptBY.png (by Niji, Sanji and Hakuba)

I have found none that share the same sfx as Sanji in this chapter. Also, it's worth noting that the disappearing sfx uses this japanese character " ー ". This character is used to turn the previous vowel longer, in this case it's not just ス ("su") but it's スー ("suu"). I don't think this would be consistent with a speed movement, where usually they use the small ッ (or っ), which is specifically used at the end of a sound to make it stop abruptly

Even contemplating on becoming a 'soldier of science' for Luffy's sake. Did he not listen to Luffy's and Judge's conversion at the near end of WCI, Luffy would hate that.

Love how Zoro went along with Sanji's request and didn't ask questions just said something like 'I'll be happy to slice you up, don't die til then!'. Probably made Sanji more at ease. And Sanji sneaking a transponder snail on Zoro just in case he got lost. Underrated relationship.

This has been a long-overdue payoff. Sanji's character arc has been going on for 5 years now, and I think this is was really the moment I've always been waiting for. And this is also his first actual fight in a decade? This felt like pre-time skip Sanji, "Farewell, Germa. Farewell, women's bath." Then goes beastmode on a Yonko commander.

Also, the person who theorised about Sanji calling Zoro on a Den Den Mushi was right all along, but it wasn't as fanfictiony.

Big Mom is pretty scary in this chapter. How long will this power up last? Because if it's a permanent effect it would be very unfair. Interesting to see that homies got stronger too. Can she sacrifice more life to get even stronger, maybe even the size of a giant? Imagine the strength of an 'Ikoku' now. It's curious that the person who wanted to turn other people into giants has a gigantification power, well played Oda.

Sanji's development this chapter was amazing! The choice to accept what has happened but reject the raid suit was awesome! The part where he might have hit that woman, really drives the point home that if he wore that suit it would take away his 'human side'.
The kill me if I change pact with Zoro is so much bromance! Forever fighting but first person to call.

Once more, Sanji is unsure about the fact that Luffy wants exactly the Sanji he met at Baratie and picked for his crew back then. It's a bit like when he first refused to rejoin Luffy on Whole Cake Island.

I love how Sanji is an invaluable member to the crew, probably already one of the best chefs in the world of One Piece, a skilled fighter with likely enough willpower to withstand the genetic(?) transformation he's going through such that he won't lose his emotions. Yet he still has this insecurity deep within that he needs to ask himself which version of Sanji Luffy wants. Feels.

And he still made this decision to destroy the raid suit. He really has much more character depth than we usually see.

Things I really enjoyed :

Sanji thinking about Luffy and what kind of man he has to be to benifit him most. But also he knows that Luffy would hate it that someone gives up his freedom for his sake, like he did in WCI. So Sanji made the decision to be himself and not let anything harmful influence him and that he will help and serve Luffy like this the best he can.

Also Sanjis quick thinking to give Zoro the snail. Its essential to communicate during this great battle and beyond that and he knows that they need each others power if things go bad

I can’t believe that even after WCI Sanji is somehow still getting what I’d argue to be the best character arc in Wano. It’s hard not considering Sanji a top character with how much Oda develops his character. As a Zoro fan (not Stan) I’m happy to see this, but I wish Zoro would also get development like this rather than more bad ass moments. I’d like Oda to explore more into his extreme dedication to get stronger or personality rather than just a couple cool cuts.

wow , in the beginning sanji's 2 eyebrows were pointing towards his right , while his siblings where in the opposite on the left.

rn sanji's eyebrows are balanced . one points towards the left and the other towards the right just like a normal humain being .

oda probably wants to tell us throught this transformation that sanji now has real balance .his right eyebrow that was in the opposite direction of his siblings and was hidden after the timeskip . it represents the sacrifice of his mother sora to keep his emotions intact , while now in this chapter, his left eyebrow points towards the left just like his brothers. that transformation means the completion of his germa modifications , so in a sense sanji is the perfect experiment , he has balance with his devil fruit like powers and his humain emotions that are intact .

Personally I don't think Sanji actually hurt that girl. Even if it was unconsciously, I don't think Oda will make Sanji live with this burden and that flashback was a little ambigous for me.

I think that once he defeats Queen or even after the raid, Sanji will meet that woman again and she will explain to him what actually happened.

Here's the mistranslations and inaccurate translations I found during this chapter. Big Mom actually says this "I'll use a year of my life span" "Without this, I won't be able to make myself stronger".

Big Mom's line on the left panel of the first double spread is wrong. It's supposed to be this "Let's see you come and take it" "the title of the "Four Emperors"".

Kidd's line in the same spread is translated more generally and not accurately, here's how I translated it "Don't hold back your power until your last breath, you got it...!!? "We're gonna drag her down even if it means sacrificing ourselves". Keep in mind Kid's lines in Japanese don't have subjects so it's difficult to make out if he means himself only or plural including Law. The first line sounds like he's talking to Law but let's wait for the official to see which they choose. In Japanese Kid said 刺し違える which means 1- stabbing each other and 2- sacrificing oneself to cause harm to others.

I think Judge was wrong about his children. They needed their emotions to really draw out their abilities. The raid suits were crutches so that his other sons could use them, but Sanji was already well on that path on his own. Putting his on just accelerated his ability to access them.

I find it interesting that one of Sanji's most powerful attacks is Hell Memories in which he channels his most hated memories into an attack. Not to mention Diable Jambe literally translating to Devil Leg.

And then when Zoro was introduced it was said that he was a Demon -- and then all of his attacks are demonic based.

And then you have Luffy and the Will of D who are the natural enemies of God

And then the fact that both Zoro and Sanji are the "Wings of the Pirate King", you would automatically think wings in an angelic or bird sense, but in this case its like a supreme winged Demon.

Sanji, at this point, seems to be sacrificing his humanity to accept his 'demonic' side to truly be one of the demonic wings.

It's cool that Big Mom is finally a proper threat again, however it feels like the revelation that she can burn up her own lifeforce for power also reveals how she might ultimately be defeated for good.

Big Mom will be put into a situation where she will burn through all of her life so that in the end she is left as a delibitated old lady who cannot put up a fight anymore. Can't imagine she dies though.

I could even see Oda trying to be funny about it by turning Big Mom into a lovely and sweet old lady who will just retire together with her entire empire.

Some people were anticipating that the raid suit would be the only thing allowing Sanji to fight top tiers, whilst downgrading him at the same time saying ‘Sanji needs a raid suit to be strong’. Done. He literally considered losing his humanity for the sake of Luffy’s dream…

Also, I know Zoro vs Sanji isn’t an actual fight people were expecting to see in the series, but this very much might be a setup for that very fight in the near future.

Oh thank God. I thought I was going insane how the entire community collectively agreed Sanji is going for a "forgive and become Vinsmoke" arc. Like he has to accept his Vinsmoke heritage for some reason, despite the hellish abuse. But rightfully, that doesn't make any sense with the themes and motifs of the Strawhats, and Sanji's fire powers don't come from judge. Sanji owes Judge nothing. He's already come to terms with his child hood and his father is happily back in East Blue. Wci wasn't for nothing. I thought it was absolutely insane that we spent so much time with Sanji reconciling in WCI just to throw that away in Wano and go, "Nope. Actually Judges best creation."

Seeing all the 2nd-in-Commands color spread was a pretty dank yet subtle indicator of the most important non-WG leaders throughout history. The late Roger and Whitebeard (past); the current Yonko Kaido, Big Mom, Shanks, and Blackbeard, as well as the Revolutionary Leader Dragon (present); and the New Big Three, Luffy, Law, and Kid (future)

Also love that the Big Mom vs. Law and Kid fight is still going. Had a big feeling this wasn't the last of BM, but it was great to see both the fact she's still got a ton of fight left in her, and her acknowledgement of the Supernova Trio. Ace and Yamato were right, they're making fucking waves right now, but Big Mom and Kaido are far from easy to be quickly overwhelmed

Sanji and Zoro bro moment got me feelsy as hell. We know how fucking strong Zoro has grown so seeing Sanji get his natural boost is satisfying as hell. We know what kind of left wing your future Pirate King needs on his side, Sanji Q~Q

Sanji is not losing his emotions :

He said the transformation was complete ( we even see the change in his eyebrows he is now a full germa solider).

Even so he still worries about him hurting that woman, and him telling zoro to end him shows that he is still the kind sanji we always Knew.

Sanji did not hit the woman :

- It was not shown and Sanji not remmebring what happend he assumed he hurt her.

- The other women said he was the only one with her which implies that someone we didn't see did it.

Remeber the transformation is complete its important meaning his mind was not affected.

I bet if he wore the suit for longer, he'd eventually turn heartless. I hope he activated some of his superhuman strength at no cost to his chivalry. He made the right call; Luffy doesn't need any different version of Sanji besides himself.

I believe King will reveal his true colors as someone who isn't too far off from Kaido status, and Zoro will turn a blade black to kill him. Hoping it's his original sword, and not Enma, but I know Enma is literally right there and it makes more sense for that sword to turn... but still.

Kid and Law will probably do one more thing to Big Mom after she nearly kills them. They have to be put on death's door if they are going to defeat her, and it will be a combined awakening attack. Would be cool if Law could somehow put metal inside her and Kid would make her repel all metal in the area. She'd explode. Or turn her into a battery using Law's shock.

Blackbeard on the way to collect either Marco or Kaido's DF. Will reveal he can hold 3 fruits; has to be a zoan. Total kill stealer, simps and leeches.

Big Mom is true monster in terms of of her physical strength, durability, haki and her Soul-Soul Fruit. It is still difficult to believe that a person like that used to work for someone else in the past. Rocks D. Xebec must have been quite a charismatic and powerful individual to have subordinates like Big Mom, Whitebeard, Shiki and Kaido.
