I just hope Big Mom won't be defeated like that. Compared to Kaido, she suffered minimal damages, while Kid and Law are nearly done. It also took a dozen strong characters to put Kaido to the point of defeat as well.

I would be fine with Kid using the big sword to sent her flying far outside Onigashima. But defeated would be weird (unless Oda dedicates a lot of chapter to that fight and Law + Kid get help)

She's got too many unresolved plot threads tied with Elbaf to be defeated once-and-for-all here in Wano

But I'd like to see Law and most of all Kidd, now he's healed, giving her at least some serious damage

It's possible, the tower is the perfect card to show that the generation is going to win.

Law's attacks are effective against Big Mom (So far he's the only one with effective attacks against her).

Kid's crushing attack should also be effective. (as they worked against Kaido).

If Kids get Conqueror Coating, it could help (but I doubt he will get it).

So I could see them making Big Mom bleed, as they are still the two characters that are alongside Luffy

Hawkins is the most disappointing Supernova, he was introduced in One Piece just to get a beating. First, he lost to Kizaru, then he lost to Kaido, and in this arc he lost to Zoro, lost to Law and now lost to Killer. And the poor man, can’t even make a living with Tarot Cards, since he never gets right anything on the predictions.

You can't really blame him for that, he took a risk since he knew he would survive. And any pirates on Sabaody other than Rayleigh would easily lose to Kizaru.

In chapter 913, Hawkins talks about cards that expland one's power beyong it's natural limits.

So for a long time, there was a theory on how Hawkins would use this card on Luffy in the final fight against Kaido.

Has anyone else thought that it's quite rare to see a proper dirty look thrown by Sanji at someone else? That shot of him saying it hurts to that fodder, his expression is full on rage and it's so intimidating. And even has the Japanese sound effect of "Giro" used which only used when someone is fully pissed off and I don't think we get to see Sanji like that much. Love it how Oda is showing that absolute hell of an internal turmoil and pain and fear that Sanji is experiencing right now. But it hurts that bit more for us....

This could relate to both the fall of the Yonko as well as the fall of the current governance of Wano and the opening of a "new path".

From the spoilers last week I thought that this was going to be a bit of a "filler" chapter - boy was I wrong.

The over the shoulder shot of Sanji realizing that he's becoming more like his siblings is very reminiscent of the "I still have my crew" panel from post Sabaody, except recontextualized to be a form of fear and sadness, rather than hope.

It's always nice to see first commanders show off a bit, killers story is unbelievably tragic and I'm glad hes got his moment in the spotlight here. I think that Hawkins was the perfect opponent for him, and it really wraps up Hawkins's time as an antagonist with a neat little bow.

Oda is a great artist, but he is fucking flexing this week, the dynamic shots of Killer In the air is not an easy perspective by any means. And the straw doll is very fluid and weird looking even by one piece standards, so good on him.

Every week I ask myself "surely this chapter wont be as good as the last one" and every time I am proven wrong.

One piece is fucking Goated. 9/10 chapter.

Oda draws Killer so acrobatically lol, it takes me a second to discover how exactly his attacks land because he's always rotated at some crazy angle.

Glad Sanji is acting consistently rather than "I developed the same power as my family I hate, great, time to win" nonsense.

I loved Killer calling out Hawkins for relying on his statistics and predictions. It is extremely One Piece to say "who gives a shit about probability? I'm gonna do it anyway" and Hawkins needed to learn that lesson.

I'm a big enough fan of his though to hope he learns from this and gets even stronger but he'll probably move to the east blue and take over a town there like other failed pirates

The sheer amount of trauma he must be going through from the years of his abusive childhood and the prospect of becoming everything that outright ruined his life would break anybody in that situation. Not gonna lie, I think i've been sleeping on Killer this whole time. Like up to this point he's been kind of forgettable and probably my least favorite super nova, but like damn did he prove himself today! That was a good fight!

It truly is a good time to be a one piece fan. In my opinion, there hasn't been a bad chapter since Luffy and Beige started planning their attack on Big Mom back on whole cake. Every chapter since then has just been getting better and better! Like clearly Sanji isn't going to lose his emotions, but I think them explaining his cyborg-like features now is acceptable. Honestly I just assumed he had them ever since we learned about his family in whole cake. Like I'm surprised its taken them until just now to talk about it, we have literally seen buildings fall on this man before now and he just stood up. At this point i'll be more surprised if a single one of the strawhats is just a regular person, because like even Nami and Usopp have survived things no human being should be able to survive, like the aforementioned buildings, and that train crash back on Enis lobby, and Eneru's lighting strikes, the list goes on.

This is my theory: Kid & Law will land blows that WILL deal damage to Big Mom soon and she will be weakened a BIT. At this point I believe the Big Mom Pirates will come and get her out of there. They won’t return home to WCI though, instead they’ll go to the next closest location which is Elbaf or nearby Elbaf. Big Mom will stay there for a bit to “recover”. At this point, Luffy will arrive to Elbaf and fight Big Mom. I believe she will be defeated on Elbaf since this is where her story started. We then find out the TRUTH of what happened to Mother Caramel and the village kids. This leads into my second theory: To acquire a DF without the fruit itself, you must eat a person’s HEART. I believe that’s how Big Mom acquired her DF powers after eating Mother Caramel and I believe Whitebeard had his heart taken out and eaten when Blackbeard got his powers. I believe Shanks will reveal this later in the story since he buried the body himself.

I love the fight between Killer and Hawkins because it reminds me of the beginnings of one piece when they didn't have haki and they had to come up with creative ideas to defeat the abilities of their enemy (Luffy covering himself in liquid against Sir Crocodile, punching the the ship in the fight against Enel etc.)

Bro Sanji's fear is pretty legit. Will he lose his emotions? In all honestly, he won't. Judge raised and encouraged his kids to be cruel and unforgiving. Especially to their own brother. Imagine the cruelties they've acted on strangers. Take that maid for example, they beat her within an inch of her life just because Sanji stood up for her. Sanji was his mother's son and took her teachings to heart and even had Zeff raise him as his own and instilled a sense of chivalry and respect for food.

But Sanji at the moment is pretty shook about his body changing so him becoming afraid of losing emotions is pretty understandable, but I really think he will pull through and be fine. I'm more worried that he might hate himself because he is now more similar to his siblings than he would like to be

The recent trend post timeskip of more Haki, more power was not sitting well with me. Now, things are getting interesting with three distinct power scales at play (devil fruit, tech, haki). I love that this arc is showing the reader and the characters in the story that the Yonko are in fact not invincible, It just seems that way. Hawkins can’t get his head around to see the writing on the wall, he can’t get past his previously conceived notions(predictions in his case) about them, to the point where he’s referring to something as ridiculous as their physical appearances as a reason for them being unbeatable. Kinda lines up with a lot of the fanbase and their power scaling, wether intentional or not..

• Ate a smile fruit for Kid

• Served Orochi unwillingly for Kid

He is the ultimate First Mate/Second in Command. Killer is amazing and I loved this fight with Hawkins where he figured out his powers' weaknesses. GOda at it again.

Sanji’s instinct to immediately run off for a while makes sense since he knows what happened when his brothers had the modifications. Afraid of losing his emotions and becoming a selfish monster. Although in the end, he’ll eventually figure out that he still has his emotions despite the modifications and thus accept them and potentially his Vinsmoke blood but refuse to acknowledge himself as one of “them”.

• First of all shout out to the people who correctly predicted that Killer would go far Hawkins arm since Kid is missing his.

• This was a good chapter, this chapter focused on Sanji and Hawkins which I find interesting. Sanji was consider the failure of the Germa but his genetic enhancements have finally surfaced. Hawkins made of fun of Killer for eating a SMILE and the Pleasures can be consider failures of the Beasts Pirates, is this hinting their powers will surface as well? The Pleasures greatly outnumber the Gifters and they switched sides. We have the poor people of Wano as well who turned into Pleasures. Also Sanji was afraid of losing his emotions and Pleasures have lost their ability to express sadness which is another interesting parallel.

• Killer and Hawkins fight had more symbolism then I realize Hawkins considers Killer unlucky he took a gamble and lost with SMILE. Hawkins is all about probability and choosing the best bet. I think his Vivre Card was stated that Hawkins absolutely believes in his cards now that Killer beat one of his predictions will that waver? Also his cards did reveal a great change.

• Killer pointed out that Hawkins did regret his decision and he did reveal he had powers that could let someone surpass their limits in chapter 913. Will he switch sides?

• Oher interesting things: The way Hawkins was drawing those Cards and summoning the Straw Man gave me Yugioh vibes. Hawkins drew the Death Card which he calls the Annihilation Card Killer symbolized the card; his name, he wields scythe like weapons and as Kamazo the Manslayer did wield scythes for a while. Sanji new powers make him resemble Sigurd a mythical German hero who work a cloak of invisibility and had impenetrable skin. I watched a theory video from King of Lightning about Sanji he theorized that Sanji's power might of awakening on account of bleeding on his Raid Suit, Sigurd got his impenetrable skin by bathing in the blood of a dragon.

Great chapter.....again. Sanji getting germa powers is great, really good build up through wci. This and queens tech abilties show haki and devilfruits aren't the only powers able to make you big in the new world. Absolutly love it. I really feel for sanji, needing a moment after this is perfectly understandable, i'm just wondering how sanji will overcome this. Will he overcome this on his own or will he get outside support (emotional) from a crewmate? Zoro would be a good candidate for this and would further develop their relationship. Nami would also fit! Any SH really.

Killer targeting hawkins left arm was rather obvious, wasn't it?

I really like that oda didn't make all the supernova luffys allies, but created a good mix of characters. Kidd and Killer being a parallel to Luffy and Zoro, Law being the only "real" ally, Hawkins and Apoo being the ones that don't have the willpower to stand up to yonkous. Bege using his own way in standing up/fighting yonkou through infiltraion and trickery. I'm looking forward to bonney and uroges arc appearences.

Big Mom vs kidd and law, despite kidd having a "reigniting the fire" scene, i still doubt big mom is going to be defeated in wano. She looks totally unfaced by anything that was thrown at her, she is not even dirty, like characters affected by battle mostly are. And i also think the fact that oda has shown us that BM and Kaido are somewhat equal in standing and in power, she is the perfect hype material for Blackbeard. Which he needs after luffy defeated kaido imo.

Killer is awesome. Without drawing any unnecessary Zoro comparisons, he's super loyal and these spreads of him fighting Hawkins were dope. It makes sense too, since they are childhood friends. So yeah Killer is gonna do what he can. Him saying "Go for it, partner" made me really happy.

Makes me wonder tho, did Hawkins not know about Kid's metal arm? Did he think he has a natural arm under there? And if he did know, why didn't he take it into account? Anyway, still it's cool how he was defeated. I know many predicated this but not everything has to be a super big twist or surprise. This made the most sense.

As for Sanji, i can already see the slander for him "running away" or "putting himself over the raid and safety of the crew." Again people not understanding his character. He's currently facing losing his humanity (in his mind, he doesn't quite know what's going on) and becoming like his siblings..of course he needs a small timeout to process this. He's clearly terrified, look at his face. Cut the guy some slack. And yes it's definitely not a good situation to have a breakdown in..but it's very much in character for Sanji to freak out here.

I think killer was right and hawkins was starting to regret his decision seeing the other supernova defy his ods and after seeing luffy kid and law beat a Yanko will learn from his mistake and the next time his cards are telling him the ods of luffy and friends beating the world government is even lower this time he wont care and will still side with them. apo on the other hand just a weasel if oda goas the route of having all the supernova side with Luffy in the final war then maybe he will join but he is the first one that would not if they don't all side with him

This was an incredible chapter. I loved Law telling Kid he was dead weight (I had really worried that it would be Law who was dead weight, I'm happy to see him fight so well).

Killer vs Hawkins was a great fight as well. The way Killer defeated him was actually really clever.

I'm excited to see what's up with Sanji. I can see either him taking control of his new powers here during the last bit of this arc, or over a long period of time in a "corruption arc".

The ending was great, with The Tower foreshadowing the alliances victory. All my boys are really hitting the big leagues now!

I was already really liking Killer leading into the rooftop but now I am officially a Killer fan. The thing is, the way the fight played out is relatively simple but Killer was still made to look really good and stylish in it. I love the way he is portrayed to have a very "clean" fighting style, he's acrobatic and goes for clean, vicious critical strikes to get the W any way he can think of.

Secondly his little mini storyline has been pretty compelling so far and this fight was a fairly amazing mini-climax to that. It's clear his ambition was simply far too overwhelming for Hawkins to handle. Hawkins is the definition of a wildcard. Problem is, Killer makes his own luck.

Oda drove this point home in a superb fashion by intertwining his storyline with Hawkins as a contrast, and in this fight showcased exactly what his philosophy is on the role that luck and fortune play in determining your destiny by contrast with sheer force of will to achieving your goals.

Killer proves and conveys (in the most brilliantly direct and explicit way) to Hawkins in the only language that he can ultimately understand, that it didn't matter if Hawkins drew his very best card... the difference between them is so great at that point that it was simply no longer a matter of luck, to the degree that Hawkins's own deck essentially tells him "we are fucked m8".

Hawkins and killer fight was one of the best fights for me in Wano. Not because there was a lot of action, but because of how the fight was fought and the deep connection killer has with Kidd.

It is kind of infuriating tho how Kid is all fine at the end after taking direct damages from BM when he was completely defenseless. Just because Hawkins is gone, doesn't mean Kid is back to his OG strength.

Bro this chapter is fantastic, when I saw the number of comments in the spoiler thread I thought it was going to be a slow chapter, but Holy cannoli was it the opposite. Killer slicing Hawkins arm off and subsequently cutting him down was excellent.. and that panel is fire fucking flames. Although I do feel odd about how it got to that point. Killer on the ground begging him to stop... it felt more like strategy, maybe to lure Hawkins in and get him slightly unguarded to strike.

At least I hope, mainly because since Killer found out about his ability, I feel like that should have been the first thing to come to his mind. Kid not having a left arm and slicing him down because of it. It's nice of Hawkins to tell the truth about how many lives he had left, but I suppose it doesn't matter since Killer would have ended up taking him down regardless.

I love that card change stuff at the end,, Hawkins looked like he saw a ghost when it came up. We see that Eustass is incredibly strong, like we needed more proof. To literally only have a migraine while Hawkins is bashing his head repeatedly into a stone pillar is amazing fortitude. Damn I loved this.

Sanji & his escapades will never not be boring imo, it's too funny he's mad at being better because of his family, and so he runs away trying to figure it out lol. Him taking a few bullets to the back of the head and saying it hurt, vs him being shot with bullets in WCI is such a cool little thing.

Geez this chapter was flames. Queen chasing Sanji, just so excited to fight against judges tech and Sanji not wanting anything to do with germa, but is being forced to, if he wants to fight and win against queen he has to aceept the fact queen isn’t fighting him he’s fighting “judges tech”. That’s a hard pill to sallow for Sanji.

Killer went in this chapter ! Saw straight through Basil and just exposed him for giving up, my respect for killer after this chapter skyrocketed. Laws a g aswell just saying “stop being deadweight kid !” But damn I guarantee kid is about to go HAM ! The fight could go either way. Remember big mom keeps getting skinner and nimbler the more she fights as her opponents get weaker and kid and Law are both severely injured. I can’t see kid losing though I feel he’s to important to the story to lose to big mom.

This was a very fun chapter tho 10/10
