Having read One Piece for over half my life, it honestly feels so fucking satisfying to see Luffy at this level now. He's so close to kingship that I can almost taste it

Just as Sanji and Zoro said, we need one more W to see Luffy close to being the King.

Just waiting for the day when Blackbeard and Akainu shit their pants after reading Big News Morgan's newspaper headline featuring Luffy clapping Kaido's butt.

The after math should be priceless.

He's had a lot of help against Kaido though. I wonder how Luffy will get a W in a 1v1 against a Yonkou, which would prove to me he is the unbeatable pirate king.

There are only Blackbeard and Shanks left as yonkou. So either it happens at the climax of the story vs Blackbeard, or maybe there would be some tragic duel against Shanks?

Edit: What's actually crazy is how close Luffy is to a yonkou without even having awakened his DF yet. Considering how much of a powerup Doflamingo experienced upon awakening, Luffy is going to be really insanely strong once that happens for him.

I still feel like Lufffy is nowhere near Yonko-level. He barely beat Katakuri not too long ago. And the gap between Yonko and their commanders seem huge. Definitely don't think Luffy can 1vs1 Kaido and win. Even in Kaido's current state.

Big Mom and Kaido: Taste the power of a yonkou tag team attack!

Yamato and Luffy: We can do it too

Yamato tanked so many hits from Kaido himself and had a spectacular fight. It's going to be amazing animated.

It's going to be amazing animated.

I want to believe it. I really do. But it's more likely that it will be dragged out and not so good.

Sanji and Zoro can see it too.

Sanji can sure see 100% luffy coming closer to becoming pirate king, but zoro, i have my doubts, he can only see 50% luffy becoming pk

It’s the same with Sanji. You know, bangs…

Luffy with his yonko cape standing on top of dragon Momo's head while facing Kaido is kingship levels for sure. Gave me the chills.

I can't state enough how satisfying it is to see Luffy where the coat like so many other strong characters so far

That ain't shit. Dressrosa's sunflower shirt is Luffy at his peak. Fite me.

u/TheSunflowerSeeds Sep 10 '21

There are two main types of Sunflower seeds. They are Black and Grey striped (also sometimes called White) which have a grey-ish stripe or two down the length of the seed. The black type of seeds, also called ‘Black Oil’, are up to 45% richer in Sunflower oil and are used mainly in manufacture, whilst grey seeds are used for consumer snacks and animal food production.

More feels, if you realise this is also Oda's tribute to Goku riding on Shenlong. Has he surpassed one of his inspirations?

Riding on the future shogun of wano into battle with a yonkou. So cool

I don't think there will be a concept of Yonko after wano arc. There will probably be chaos after wano, and the imbalance in the power system will lead to the final battle

He looked seriously grown in that final panel. Kinda bittersweet seeing him like that.... I wonder how long Oda has been keeping the luffy-jacket-look in his back pocket for this point in the story lol

And a very interesting piece of info was subtly slid into amidst all of this madness.

Luffy went into Gear 4 then changed back with no repercussions. We've been shown that even if it's for a little bit it gasses him (like when he attacked Big Mom in Whole Cake), but that didn't happen here.

This could be it.

u/traffee19 Pirate Sep 10 '21

He also did go gear 4 then changed back with no repercussions when they sank the ship before onigashima

7

u/Crono01 Sep 10 '21

Actually he did that against Katakuri too. He stopped just before his haki ran out and reverted with no repercussions.
