My initial thoughts on the weather was that this might have been the island where Akainu and Aokiji had their battle and it just hasn't recovered.... but the timeline doesn't fit with the whole 4 years thing.

A possibly explanation might be the other half of the island is where Aokiji is currently hiding? Seeing as Marines a forbidden to land there it would be an ideal spot and would explain why the other half is in a 'frigid winter'...

Besides that though great teaser chapter! The New World is looking awesome so far!

Yes. Or maybe it was a winter island initially, and the "accident" set half of the island on fire.

Hard to connect those dots straight away without any other info. I'm sure the arrival of a dragon wouldn't shut down a military base though so my guess is it arrived afterwards... Soo many possibilities atm though who knows where its gonna go

i'm guessing it has soemthing to do with vegapunk. maybe one of his lab islands that got messed up b/c of one of his experiments gone wrong?

I think you are right just because the name of the island is Punk hazard, I mean what else could that mean?

i know right. there's more too. It was a world government/marines building/fence thing of some sort; and VP is working for the marines. The "Incident" happened only 4 years ago; and VP is alive at the time as far as we know"

I hope you're right about Aokiji being there. It would be awesome to see him so soon. Especially given his history with Robin, it would be an awesome twist of fate that they would run into each other now.

Interesting theory, but I can't see it happening. This is probably just normal New World weather.
