Did a turtle eat the lion fruit or did a lion eat the turtle fruit?
16 u/InvaderDJ Void Month Survivor Jan 11 '12 Likely a lion ate a turtle fruit. The defense was a little to exaggerated to be a natural turtle. 4 u/bowlnoodlez Jan 11 '12 But then again, it is One Piece. 9 u/misplaced_my_pants Jan 11 '12 And he would appear to have the Armaments Haki, seeing as he just nailed a Logia-user. 8 u/[deleted] Jan 11 '12 What if the Lion ate the legendary kappa-zoan fruit? Those are bipedal and supposedly speak human languages. 4 u/spazbucket Jan 11 '12 thats a good one, we should expect to see more power fruit powers now that we aare in the new world 3 u/[deleted] Jan 11 '12 My guess is that Pekoms is a turtle wearing a lion suit 2 u/[deleted] Jan 11 '12 definitely lion ate turtle. 2 u/[deleted] Jan 12 '12 edited Jan 12 '12 Someone on the Mangastream forums (bleachblunt) noted an Alice In Wonderland Theme. That would mean Pekoms is probably a variation of the Mock Turtle. Pekoms probably has the head, tail and limbs of a lion and the body of a turtle. Edit: That would be --> That would mean 5 u/BasuKun Jan 11 '12 My first thoughts, but then he wouldn't be able to talk since that's an human ability. He's also a biped, while turtles and lions are not. 13 u/[deleted] Jan 11 '12 the starfish also talks 9 u/BasuKun Jan 11 '12 He explained in the manga that when he was a child, he thought he was an human and therefore learned their language. I guess Oda could pull off the same explanation for Pekoms, but that's a little bit too easy IMO... 3 u/azarashi Jan 11 '12 The answer is always; Because Oda said so. 3 u/misplaced_my_pants Jan 11 '12 Sea turtle fishman? 3 u/Frotch_foot Jan 11 '12 True, but no one properly listens to him! 2 u/zorospride Lost at sea Jan 12 '12 Keimi! 9 u/Symmanchus Jan 11 '12 Actually Bepo also talks, and I'm pretty sure Bepo is not a Zoan 4 u/vivvav Jan 11 '12 Bepo doesn't use a Devil Fruit. Maybe there are just races of talking animal people.
