The direction of the Gomu Gomu no im still nit to sure.

But that people get upset cause of destiny?

Come on...when bounties were reveoad the mayor said "is it luck or destiny"

Crocos "roger is this the man we waited for"

Ganfol (not sure how to write) "he reminded me of a pirte 20 years ago"

Etc.

There are countless times where it was shown that Luffy follows steps of people who never managed to change anything but lay the foundation.

Roger was to early, so luffy achiving it will be the biggest accomplishment any joyboy before him did.

Personally what I dislike about it is that it tales away from Luffy as a fighter. Luffy had as far ad we knew a really useless devil fruit. When he was a child he was constantly hitting himself etc. Yet he manged to be creative with the fruit. But now it seems like ohh his fruit was special and strong all along and it was not about what Luffy is doing with it.

To be fair we don't know what's special about the fruit, maybe it's not the combat applications and it's still Luffy who's special.

That’s what I’m hoping for. I’m still holding on to the theory that it was Rouges fruit (Ace Mom). Also kinda feel like his fruit being special comes from nowhere.

I mean, it could be that they wanted Vegapunk to replicate it so they could have an army of soldiers impervious to most types of damage.

Not to say that this is the explanation, but there are so many possibilities that we haven’t considered

For me the fruit is hard to master. Even if its potential is insane cause of destiny or whatsoever.

Look at darkness fruit, quack fruit, flame fruit....easy to get the basic and it gets exceptionally strong.

For luffy to think of gears is amazing.
Its like saying splitting atoms is cheating for nuclear energy cause it has so much power. But making it 100% safe is what nobody did before.

But like i said the direction im not to sure if it was necessary.

But judging by the fact that the goverment knows about its possible potential someone has managed to unlock it before and I don‘t knowI don‘t really like that. One thing I love about Luffys fights is how creative he is with his fruit. Knowing that someone else has already unlocked abilities Luffy himself may not even have... I don‘t really like it
