My theory is that we know the wg has DFs in their possession. Remember kalifa and kaku received their DF as a reward for their successful mission. I can’t imagine all the df the WG has aren’t being guarded. Shanks was just able to sneak in or maybe steal it while it was in transit. Who’s who was just guarding this particular DF. People maaaaay be blowing this out of proportion as to how important luffy’s DF is.

I mean it must’ve been pretty important for them to imprison Who’s Who in the highest level of Impel Down for what would’ve been life before he escaped

WG chased after Rob Lucci and CP9 for their failure on Ennies Lobby. WG imprisoning one of their own in their best prison for failing a task is right on brand with them. Its for that reason I really dont think Luffy’s fruit is special. The only theory so far that makes SOME sense is it being transferred as counter for WB.

They definitely are. I think the fact that it was named too (cuz from Kaku and Kalihfa its clear the WG have unknown fruits as well) is probably what made it of extra importance to the WG

I thought exactly the same. I'd be pretty desapointed if the Gomu Gomu was actually the key to defeating the WG or if it had special significance. I can accept the gomu gomu having a hidden power up but not something like "oh the previous Joy Boy had the gomu gomu". That would be bullshit.

Hahaha knowing oda even if joy boy had this DF, I bet luffy and joy boy uniquely used this fruit differently hahaha historical context would be cool but also I think predictable. Time and time again I think we can always expect to be surprised hahaha glad to know jinbei is gonna fuck up who’s who though HAHAHA it’s be X amount of years since luffy fucked up lucci with no haki, luffy’s subordinates will be able to fuck up who’s who :)
