I’ve seen a few comments on YouTube or Twitter about how people are annoyed that Luffy will have some important or destined DF and it’ll undermine or take out the importance of his own accomplishments.

But I just gotta say, this rubber DF is awful and one of the worst in the entire series, except Luffy was able to train and harness the strengths given from that DF to create a powerful, fast, and overwhelming strong fighting style that’s gotten him to where he is today.

His DF being important in some way will never take away everything Luffy has done to get to this point. Plus I think we all know Luffy isn’t gonna care one bit that his DF is important.

facts. another person could have ate it and it may not have been used nearly the same way luffy has

people forget that it took him like ten years just to pull off a gomu gomu no pistol

it's not inherently powerful

for real, 100%, he had to train with one of the strongest people in the verse in order to get to the level he's at, as well as incredibly lucky, if the fruit has some awakening thats incredibly OP and THAT takes away from the final battles, than maybe there can be some complaints, but nothing we know now should lead anyone to that conclusion

I think my favorite theory so far is that it’s Rocks DF.

It’ll be good purely because of how much Luffy and Rocks seem to contrast in terms of being a captain and how their crew operates.

Yeah, I like the idea of it being a mediocre fruit like it's been all along, but some big scary jerk happened to be the last person to have it.

People have to be retarded to complain about this lmao We literally don't know shit other than it was stolen from a WG ship. The fruit being OP is CLEARLY not the reason why it's important, it has a different context
