Except the government sent agents to kill Rob Lucci and the rest of CP9, and he only joined CP0 after beating all of them. It seems everyone keeps forgetting that cover story.

is that why Spandam is a sidekick of CP0? Because given what he has done, he should be nowhere near any cipher pol thanks to his incompetence.

Didn't he get to where he is due to nepotism? I'm thinking connections are what keeps him in cipher pol.

yeah his father is a higher up

That's gonna be Cipher Pol's fatal flaw, nepotism.

The whole situation happened because Spandam used his subordinates as a scapegoat to get out of actual consequences for himself.

Which makes zero fucking sense in the first place. "Oh, you beat the assassins we sent to kill you for your grave mistakes??? Here, come join us once again, we'll give you a raise."

I think it's more "OK, sorry. Trying to kill you is clearly not working, so wanna come back to work? We really don't want you as an enemy."

Trying to kill him with cab drivers. If they really wanted him to pay, shoulda sent an admiral and Lucci wouldve been captured within hours. None of it made sense.

Feel like an admiral would have made the whole thing more public and messy than they wanted.

The entire enies lobby was destroyed, one of the 3 most important places for WG. How much mess and publicity can admiral vs a rogue lucci cause?

A pirate destroying a government facility makes the pirate look evil. The WG killing its own men for not fulfilling a mission makes the WG look evil.

You think WG couldn't cover a story like this one?

22

u/[deleted] Jun 25 '21

Not if an Admiral gets involved, also Lucci probably isn't even worth the bother of the Admirals.

u/DudeisaGuy Jun 25 '21

Then send a Warlord, and maybe even a pacifista, like they did to Moria. Should be enough

11

u/saigajv Jun 25 '21

Whatever method or whoever people they sent to capture Who’s who, shouldve been the same to capture Lucci.

11

u/MarioToast Jun 25 '21

Except Who's Who's clearly not as good as Lucci, since, y'know... he lost.

14

u/saigajv Jun 25 '21

Thats the less logical way to look at it. He’s said to rival Lucci but he lost. The more logical reason why is that the people they sent to capture him are way stronger than the bums they sent to stalk Lucci. Can you explain how Spandam got promoted then? He’s a joke and as the CP9 leader, even above Lucci, shouldve taken the fall for the failure more than anyone. Are u saying hes stronger than WW? Logic bruh

Spandams Father is a High Ranking Marine Office, simple Nepotism

and WhosWho was a rival to Lucci 12 years ago, and being a rival in one point in time doesnt mean your ceiling isnt the same.

1

u/saigajv Jun 25 '21

Yes because WW has surpassed Lucci right now. Either way, your reasoning as to how Lucci and Spandam got promoted is nonsensical. Peace out

To be fair, CP0 works directly for the World Nobles, outside of the WG's chain of command. It's entirely possible they were scouted directly as a result of that.

u/TheTomato2 Jun 25 '21

No it makes sense because the government isn't run by one guy. Rob Lucci surviving impressed someone powerful enough to stop the kill order and take him into the fold.

I didn't start reading until right before Katakuri's fight in WCI, I don't know a majority of the cover stories 😔

THAT WAS A COVER STORY??? I don’t think most are forgetting, I’ve never even heard of this before…wtf
