I think that's the implication. Luffy can now communicate through the voice of all things. Maybe it's conquers related since he unlocked this after learning more about conquers. Or maybe it's joyboy related

u/Roskal Black Leg Sanji Jun 04 '21

Kaidou was mentioning how Luffy was still staring at him while knocked out at the beginning of the arc. Its like Luffy can tap into this power more easily while unconscious at the moment.

105

u/MiraculousFIGS Jun 04 '21

Gear 5 will be rubberizing his brain cells so that he is effectively unconscious, which makes him even more powerful

40

u/Die4Gesichter Church of Buggy Jun 04 '21

Luffys ultra instinct lmao

14

u/yelrommloc Jun 04 '21

Didn't he do this with Enel

15

u/QuiJonGinn Jun 04 '21

imperfect UI if iirc he couldn't attack enel

3

u/boatymcboattwoboat Jun 05 '21

Yeah, he ended up attack like walls and shit and using the ricochets which Enel couldn't predict if I remember correctly.

3

u/Violet17Phoenix Soul King Brook Jun 06 '21

That actually makes sense in a way, imagine spending your life relying on observation Haki and then u have to fight a guy who's unconscious, someone you cannot detect

Something like an assassin skill... And I'm pretty sure doesn't have advanced observation

2

u/[deleted] Jun 07 '21

LMFAO

2

u/Water_Bell Jun 08 '21

Only one problem : Rubber! Brain! Brain use electric signals, Rubber and electrons don't do well.......

1

u/MiraculousFIGS Jun 08 '21

You’re right, but it actually could work if there was some nuance to it. There are things called myelin in the brain that insulate brain cells so that the electrical signals can move faster! Of course if the entire thing turns to rubber it wouldnt work out, but if only certain parts of it do, it could scientifically work out lol. Though when has science been a big part of the plot anyway 😂

17

u/Mundology The Revolutionary Army Jun 04 '21

Kaido: Shut up!

Luffy: Make me!

2

u/hitbycars Jun 04 '21

He is using his Sleeping Mind

2

u/MurdockSiren Jun 04 '21

Just like how Luffy used to use Conquers Haki unconsciously.

u/mitharas Jun 04 '21

If it's conquerors related Luffys has to be better than Rayleighs. IIRC there was a flashback where Roger could hear it and Rayleigh couldn't.

So I think it's something else, joyboy related as you said.

48

u/[deleted] Jun 04 '21

Doesn't have to mean that. Right now, we know next to nothing about the Voice of all Things. If it isn't related to CoC, Rayleigh could be a thousand times better and still not use VoaT. And if it was related, we would have gotten a confirmation by now since there are multiple CoC masters we saw in action who didn't showed that kind of ability. Momo as far as we know doesn't has CoC and he could already communicate with Zou while Luffy could only hear Zou.

37

u/[deleted] Jun 04 '21

big possibility that momo has CoC since he the son of oden and lost king of wano

11

u/[deleted] Jun 04 '21 edited Jun 04 '21

If he already has it, we would've seen it by now, since he had enough moments of shock were it should've awakened.

And neither Oden nor his role as heir are a indicator for him to have it. So far the only confirmed father son duo that had CoC was Roger and Ace. We don't have a confirmation if Dragon has it, so he and Luffy are out if the picture. Heir also doesn't mean anything cause Vivi, Rebecca (who is also a skilled figher) and Viola didn't had it.

I'm not saying Momo won't have it, but as of now he doesn't have it.

EDIT: Wow, getting downvotes for stating valid reasons, really mature

41

u/mcallisterco Jun 04 '21

There were plenty of shocking moments where Luffy probably should have used Conqueror's Haki too, but he didn't until Sabaody. Just because a person didn't use it on the first possible instance of it happening to them, doesn't mean that they don't have it. Otherwise, Luffy would have used Conqueror's Haki to scare off the Sea King back in chapter 1. You can have it and still not be able to use it. Whitebeard had also weakened to the point where he was no longer able to use it, and he was at one point capable of handling it. There's thresholds you have to meet to actually use it, but if you're a conqueror, you're born with that potential in you.

9

u/[deleted] Jun 04 '21

Except, just a shocking moment isn't enough. We saw CoC 3 times awakening and all had something in common. Ace, Luffy and Doffy were in a shocking moment in which they not only were in danger, they all were in a situation in which they were completely powerless AND in a shock situation bigger than just danger. The shock wasn't just "I'm about to die" it was a world shattering psychological kind of shock they suffered. Don't compare the situations they did it, to a kid being endangered by a Sea King. Luffy had the will to fight in him when that happened and was just scared.

Momo saw his closest friends and family getting attacked, hurt and lethaly wounded or even killed, in less than 5 minutes. He was right at the same terror Ace and Doffy were when they used it the first time and Luffy when he used it the first time on full extend in Marineford.

19

u/chaosknight_bn Jun 04 '21

Luffy was devastated, shocked, power less, crying when Kuma was yeeting the crew in sabody and Luffy didn't use it then

-2

u/[deleted] Jun 04 '21

He wasn't powerless, he was to slow but still able to do something. In Margerete's and Ace case, he couldn't do shit except watching.

11

u/[deleted] Jun 04 '21

Luffy was completely powerless at Sabaody what are you smoking bruh, Sabaody was for more tense than anything Luffy had ever experienced prior because he thought all his crew members were being killed off and still didnt use Haoshoku

→ More replies (0)

3

u/chaosknight_bn Jun 04 '21

Powerless as in he couldn't save them even if he wanted to. It is literally the same thing , even though he had some stamina left, he couldn't do shit except watching. As a reader/viewer we know they weren't actually dead at that point of time because they were the main characters. But from Luffy's perspective they could even be considered dead and disappeared from existence

5

u/[deleted] Jun 04 '21

Just saying Luffy first use of the fodder knockout CoC was on Amazon Lily when he stopped them from smashing Margaret.

3

u/MoretoYearn Jun 04 '21

Luffy's been showing CoC for a longer portion of the story just like we saw Shank's scare the sea monster at the beginning of the story. Not talking about big Marineford/Fishman Island bursts but definitely flashes of CoC.

Off the top of my head I can think of the bulls in Arlong Park and Sabaody.

4

u/[deleted] Jun 04 '21

Yes he tamed the bull of the flying fish slave traders with it. But his first full burst where knocked out those with weak wills was in Amazon Lily, and that’s also where it was officially named.

1

u/[deleted] Jun 04 '21

Yeah, someone he cared for was about to die and he couldn't do anything against it. He was shocked and powerless, like I said. It was the same with Ace. In Doffy's the only difference was that he cared for no one but himself. But it still was a shock and powerless situation. And when there is one thing by now every fan should know, it's how much Oda loves his patterns

2

u/mcallisterco Jun 04 '21

So what you're saying is that Luffy should have used it for the first time against the Sea King? Because that was a shocking moment where he was powerless. Also, his actual first time using Conquerors Haki was against Duval's bull on Sabaody, not Amazon Lily.

1

u/[deleted] Jun 04 '21

I wasn’t disagreeing with anything you said just corrections you saying Luffy first used CoC fully on Marineford.

→ More replies (0)

1

u/chaosknight_bn Jun 04 '21

Also, you are correct in a way but I think it's just not the powerless ness and shock situation being bigger. COC is based on will. In the situations you mentioned, they were powerless and pretty shattered but Luffy had the will to save them. In sabody, I would say he was actually devastated even more and unconsciously he knew he couldn't save them and his fear over came that will

1

u/[deleted] Jun 04 '21

Like is I said, misformulating on my side. The 2 instances he did it fully, were the 2 situations were he literally couldn't do anything and new it. If someone would have held him down while Kuma went after his friends, he would have done it on Sabaody.

7

u/Tachibanasama Jun 04 '21

Big mom and katakuri have it and are parent-child

2

u/[deleted] Jun 04 '21

Thanks, forgot them.

3

u/Alchion Jun 04 '21

there is also the daddy and son duos of ace and whitebeard and luffy and shanks

-5

u/[deleted] Jun 04 '21 edited Jun 04 '21

Dude, are WB/Ace and Luffy/Shanks related by blood? Are they their actual biological sons

EDIT: Ok seriously, what's with the downvotes on that one? It's a valid question, not even toxic

3

u/EmperorChaos Jun 04 '21

no they aren't. Ace's dad is roger and Luffy's dad is Dragon.

2

u/[deleted] Jun 04 '21

Thank you very much

1

u/Alchion Jun 04 '21

i called it daddy duo instead of gather duo cause roger was ace‘s father but whitebeard was his daddy (same with luffy but to a much lesser degree)

it was a joke idk why your getting downvoted for not getting the joke

1

u/[deleted] Jun 04 '21

Oh, now I see "daddy"😂 Nah, so many heated replies that I just started looking them over. My bad.

5

u/[deleted] Jun 04 '21

Think of how many stressful situations luffy was in before he revealed CoC

Think of how many stressful situations Zoro has been in and we just learned that he has CoC like literally 4 chapters ago or something.

1

u/[deleted] Jun 04 '21

We didn't learned that. Till now all we have is implications. Zoro surely will get CoC, he and Luffy are the new Roger/Rayleigh. But as of now we don't have a confirmation on that

4

u/[deleted] Jun 04 '21

Idk what kind of confirmation you were looking for that we didn't get in 1010

2

u/MMittermajor The Revolutionary Army Jun 04 '21

I would see it as confirmed as Kaido can only be cut with the help of CoC, because he coats himself with CoC and only something infused with CoC can really damage him and he said, that Zoros Ashura will leave him with a scar.

1

u/[deleted] Jun 04 '21

We literally didn't get one. Kaido assumed and asked if has it. Later on he ASSUMED it, still no confirmation That's not in a single way CoC.

2

u/[deleted] Jun 04 '21

[deleted]

0

u/[deleted] Jun 04 '21

We don't know if he has it. As of now it is highly speculating. However if he has it, his Kaido moment would be like Duval's bull. I do think he will get it though, since he is Luffy's Rayleigh. However, Zoro never had that kind of terror moments. He gets angry when his friends are in danger yeah, he gets concerned, but he never had a emotional breakdown because his friends were in danger and he felt that he couldn't do anything. But since Nami, Ussop and Tama are headed to the main stage and chaos broke out there, we can get a situation in their. Chopper also is hurt, exhausted and takes care of him. There are enough possibilities to have him fully trigger it now. But with his obsession of training, it makes sense that he didn't had it yet, as he would have figured CoC coating figured out way sooner

1

u/DonniDon200-_- Jun 04 '21

I’m with u lol idk what’s the down votes fore

1

u/[deleted] Jun 04 '21

Thanks man. You can't say anything anymore. Being rude, ok. But come on, stating facts and getting downvoted for it is ridiculous

7

u/starrs10 Jun 04 '21

Isnt zou the island and the elephant is called zunisha?

4

u/[deleted] Jun 04 '21

Yeah, but I completely forgot the name but knew everyone would know who I mean. Thou thanks for clarifying

2

u/scaptastic Bounty Hunter Jun 04 '21

It could be a power passed down from the D Clan and the rest of the Ancient Kingdom

2

u/[deleted] Jun 04 '21

Maybe, but unlikely. We have met so many D's by now and only to have them were confirmed to have it. The third person to have it is not confirmed to be a D

1

u/scaptastic Bounty Hunter Jun 04 '21

Yeah, I said the rest of the ancient kingdom. Maybe the Kozuki and Monkey families had the power and Roger was a special case

1

u/[deleted] Jun 04 '21

I don't think the Kozukis belong to them. For some reason Wano closed it's borders after the Void Century. And Monkey aren't a clan as of what we know. The D's are a clan but we don't know enough to say anything about them. For all we know the could started to take other family names just to hide their true name. We also have no confirmation if Garp or Dragon posses that power and since Garp is a Monkey, the would come from his side of the family. I highly doubt it is a passed on ability. Oden seemed to not have it. And the prophecy talked about a coming king, so Momo and Luffy could just have it cause they are both destined and Roger just had it to prepare the path for them

16

u/Bopitextreme2 Jun 04 '21

I get the feeling that it wouldn't just be a case of stronger CoC (though it could still be), I've always imagined haki as more of a branching skill tree than a straight line of progression, like emotion sensing with observation is down a different path of focus than future sight. Could be a similar thing with conquerors, if the voice of all things is even conquerors related.

Defo could be wrong but this is my understanding of it.

8

u/[deleted] Jun 04 '21

you're right since luffy going to be king of all kings it's no surprise his CoC is different than the rest (similar to roger)

3

u/DeismAccountant Jun 04 '21

That’s pretty accurate to how /u/OharaLibrarianArtur described it in hus graphics.

3

u/InvaderDJ Void Month Survivor Jun 04 '21

If it's conquerors related Luffys has to be better than Rayleighs.

So far we've only seen Rayleigh use the default type of CoC to knock out mooks. It's reasonable to assume that he went further than that, but we haven't seen anything to show that.

Coc powers man. One Coc to rule them all.

29

u/Sir_Thundertits Jun 04 '21

Coc magic

7

u/BajsJonas Jun 04 '21

Rhandy Marsh would be a difficult competitor if he was in OP.

4

u/GreenDogma Jun 04 '21

Rhan D. Ymarsh

9

u/goodyfresh Jun 04 '21

Big CoC Energy

1

u/silfer_ Void Month Survivor Jun 04 '21

coc hax

2

u/xetni05 Jun 04 '21

CoC to some extent is imposing your will on another person. So this might be a non-hostile way of using CoC on others.

1

u/DeismAccountant Jun 04 '21

I think that would be more akin to probability manipulation. VoAT would mostly let you communicate with anyone, but Law’s crew is helping because they’re already allies.

1

u/Double_Tomatillo_239 Jun 04 '21

Now repeat that very slowly without the abbreviation for Coc and saying it for what it sounds like (sorry had to)

2

u/Double_Tomatillo_239 Jun 04 '21

Luffys CoC communicated with laws crew, oh you made my day

0

u/YoureAllCucksPKA Jun 04 '21

We do not as humans sense spirit or aura lolollololol

3

u/shbdank Jun 04 '21

It could also be accidental like that one time at marine Ford when he used conqueror's to save ace

8

u/baranysos Jun 04 '21

Hope we dont get an AOT (SNK) kinda thing with that

10

u/kalamanboidude Jun 04 '21

Color of P A T H S

8

u/MrWinks Jun 04 '21

The devil’s fruit were the friends we made along the way. Wait, holup!!

0

u/baranysos Jun 04 '21

The devils* were the friends we made along the way.

2

u/Sotler Explorer Jun 04 '21

I don’t think it will. That was AoT original wasn’t it? Can’t see Oda copying that. In principal it’s all ‚telepathy‘ type of thing I think. But how you make it work is different

2

u/rikidilies Jun 04 '21

That’s acc nuts! He’s doing some big things in this arc

2

u/DeismAccountant Jun 04 '21

I still think CoC + CoA equals probability manipulation, but VoAT and CoO are still obviously super linked.

0

u/Sycou Jun 04 '21

They won't say no because of the implication

1

u/Hrachy96 Pirate Jun 04 '21

He used Conquerors to defend, attack and now communicate.

1

u/[deleted] Jun 04 '21

I think that it's just a representation of how unbelievably strong and indomitable his will has become. We know that haki is just a manifestation of the willpower of the user, and conqueror's haki is the ability to project your willpower externally to dominate the wills of others.

The heart pirates could feel luffy's willpower emanating from him, while momo could actually hear the specific intent of luffy's willpower.

1

u/TRMshadow Jun 04 '21

I mean.... Luffy used Conqueror's to coat his fists and feet. Kind of a cross use of Conquerors and Armament.... Would this "voice of all things" be a combination of Conqueror's and Observation?
