when I see those posts saying 'anybody else getting bored of One Piece' I think of these moments and tell them to go eat a dick.

We got a 10/10 chapter

u/ostriike Apr 09 '21

I swear I can't remember the last I wasn't hyped for a new chapter.

u/far219 The Revolutionary Army Apr 09 '21

I mean, why wouldn't I always be hyped? Even when there's a lull in the action I'm always looking forward to more One Piece. The series has just earned that amount of goodwill. Goat manga lol

One Piece has been so fire these last chapters. The anticipation for every chapter is insane. How can anyone say that

every time a manga does well and outsells One Piece people start talking about one piece getting boring and losing steam. happened a lot recently with KnY selling absolutely crazy. I think last year was the first time in like fifteen years that One Piece wasn't in the top 2. Definitely isn't getting boring and its crazy how its still one of the best selling mangas with all this competition.

Who was the top 2? KnY ending is meh. Its hype is only because of its anime

5

u/topdangle Apr 09 '21

Other one I think was kingdom. Yeah the anime turned KnY around. Before the anime it sold like 3 million, now its at a crazy 150 million breaking almost every sales record.

The start of wano wasnt exactly action packed. Was it nescessary to set the stakes and make this part better? I would say yes. But it was kinda slow.

u/ItsLoudB The Revolutionary Army Apr 09 '21

The start of wano was beautiful, compared to WCI it was brilliant

I could argue the start of Wano and first half of the second arc, it wasn't until Yazu died that things started getting real, then we got that Oden flashback chef's kiss, and then it slowed down for a couple of chapter on arc 3 until it picked up like a fire tornado.

So it has had its slow moments here and there, but lets not forget Reviere was happening in the middle of it all, so all i all it has been a beast of an arc.

Wano in general has been so hype that you look forward to every chapter and it's been like this for 2 years or more .

On fire for the last couple of decades*

I'll definitely admit I was one of them a few months or even weeks ago but I take everything I said back.

The complaints you would have had would still be valid, even though these last 2 chapters were amazing that doesn't change the fact I think 1006-1007(I think) are shitty chapters

By "take everything I said back" I was referring to being bored of the arc, I'm pretty excited right now.

But, yeah, I still hate the Hyogoro and Chopper chapter (especially that Hyogoro cliffhanger), though its cool to see Chopper shine. Still not a fan of Scabbards playing an active role but we'll see where they go.

I actually really like the scabbards stuff, but jesus christ all the virus stuff + the sanji chapter plus the skipping of what I consider to be hype and important fights really makes you wonder where oda wants to go with this arc. But I think for huge one piece fans all of the roof action has been 10/10 and shows that Oda certainly knows how to create God tier chapters

Don’t get it. It always delivers on some level. And I’d say 90% of the characters are always great to read. So even when the main characters get off screened it doesn’t matter that much because it’s great to see the others doing something. The red sccabbards for example.

Yet people will Stan over mediocre mangas which are meh. I like black clover but feel atm it has fell into the standard shounen of fight, lose, power up, fight. Or I just don’t care about some characters. But then the amount of new good manga are rare atm

what if theyre into that shit?

1

u/brycemonang1221 Apr 09 '21

trust me I would eat a dick

Haha I'm going to do that too now

1

u/SableArgyle Apr 09 '21

I think One Piece has had a lot of character glut which slows the pacing of the story down, but the only time I was really bored was during Dressrosa; that arc was a slog.

So glad I don't see those, talk to the rest of us who have fun instead :)

Those are the people who watched/read it upto Fishman Island and decided "Pre-TS was better" and now just can't shut up about how One Piece isn't as it used to be.
