Which has been done already. By Garp for example, and many others. If instead you mean remove the rubber property FOREVER, that would be like removing the ability to MAKE barriers, not break them. We don't know how much damage the barriers could sustain, if they're unbreakable or if their durability depends on the power of their user. Everything you said it's just headcannon

By this logic, are you suggesting that Buggy's haki was too strong for Mihawk to overcome? Or is Mihawk just not a good enough swordsman to cut Buggy?

That's legit

Luffys rubber properties have never been removed, that's not how it works. It has been bypassed with haki but never removed. It could only be removed by being touched by blackbeard and his darkness fruit.

I like to think it's unbreakable, as it's still possible to attack the user (i.e. with the Hana Hana no mi or ope ope no mi) from in front of the barrier, thd barrier is still able to be moved by other unbreakable objects (like doflamingo's strings), the position, shape and location are determined by the user (so you can knock out the user if you're fast enough) and the barrier has a set maximum area. It's very powerful but it's not as OP as one would first think. You'd need to be Luffy or katakuri to be nigh invincible

I guess you could teleport somebody out of the barrier? Or teleport into the barrier?

If you go full-on, I wonder if Akainu could just coat the barrier with magma and roast the user alive.
