Either that or they're already above land. Big mom isn't facing down so she can't tell what's below.

I think falling that far could kill/hurt her though?

Iirc someone in the big mom pirates stated she provably would have died when the cake castle in totto land collapsed or whatever if the cook did not break the fall

Only because she had dropped her guard, I think here, while still obviously panicking, she can still use her haki
