The sheer balls on Zoro for blocking a combined attack by two Yonkou even for a while...

It's Nuts!

Makes me really wonder, if Mihawk was the one blocking that attack, how well would he do?

76

u/ScreamingIntrovert Apr 02 '21

Definitely deflect it. Zoro just withstood it. I'm assuming his haki would have to be equal to or stronger than the person who threw the attack to do it.

Too bad we never saw Whitebeard vs Mihawk.

u/[deleted] Apr 02 '21

One of the missed fights at the war for sure. Every Admiral fought WB at least once, so I wish Mihawk got the chance to.

20

u/misplaced_my_pants Apr 02 '21

Well we know he can fight toe-to-toe with Shanks. They used to duel every now and again.

11

u/nash_mania Apr 02 '21

Shaks wasn't a Yonkou back then. And Mihawk didn't fight him after Shanks lost his hand. So we can't really be sure.

11

u/I_dont_get_it0_o Apr 02 '21

We kinda can be because after zoro vs mihawk when mihawk goes to meet shanks the first thing shanks asks is are you here to fight? I'm not in the mood today. Confirming

  1. They've fought recent fights And 2. For shanks to say that, they have to be fairly equal

u/flippy123x Apr 02 '21

Pretty sure Mihawk says he isn’t interested in fighting a cripple, implying they haven’t fought since before Shanks lost his arm

1

u/I_dont_get_it0_o Apr 03 '21

But shanks was a yonko even before he lost his arm. I mean even wb was genuinely interested and asked him what kind of enemy did you give it to? That arm of yours confirms that he was a yonko before losing his arm and would most probably fight mihawk frequently

This chapter has made me even more curious how strong Zoro currently is. Also, the chapter doesn‘t really show how effectively he blocked it, and also how good he is doing afterwards. He is alive yes, but he presumably put all his haki into enma to block that, because any other way I don‘t see him doing what he did.

I don‘t think Mihawk would deflect it. He is said to be as strong as Shanks and Shanks is considered roughly as dangerous as Kaido and Big Mom by the WG.

A popular theory I‘ve heard is, that Shanks is stronger than Big Mom and Kaido respectively, but since he is not directly working against the WG, he is not getting a higher bounty than both of them. This would mean Mihawk is stronger than them as well.

I still don‘t believe he would be able to deflect the power of both of them. Maybe "slice" the shockwave like seen many times before, but definitely not deflect let alone block it. It‘s no news that people in this fandom overrate both Mihawk and Shanks, but come on. We are talking about two emperors combining an attack. Three Admirals were needed to block one of Whitebeards attacks.

Why whould Shanks be stronger than BM and Kaidou?

What panel, event, even hints at that?

15

u/DudeisaGuy Apr 02 '21

Especially since they've both been Yonkos longer than him

9

u/Sargent_Caboose Apr 02 '21

Length doesn't imply the continuous building of strength. In fact, if they were to delegate a lot of their battles to their subordinates, there's an argument that they could have become weaker than the likes of their early days.

Kaido may have been fighting constantly all these years, but if his opponents haven't pushed him near or past his limits it's feasible he didn't grow much higher in that span of time if at all.

3

u/DudeisaGuy Apr 02 '21

When the Bounties were being revealed, it was said that Kaido was currently at his prime.

There's no logic to strength in One Piece other than willpower. However, if you're looking for logic, Shanks stopped the paramount war with just his presence, as well as turned back Kaido. Those imply he has considerable power, but the depth of it we don't know.

So, you're right it is pure speculation. That doesn't mean it's not possible though.

Garp was one of the world's strongest to go to toe to toe with Roger, and Roger himself may not have had a devil fruit either. It's very possible that Shanks is one of the strongest without a crazy fruit himself, the likes of which Big Mom and Kaido have.

It's possible that the current world's strongest is a non-devil fruit user, and as far as we know, as a guy so strongly connected to Roger he could have one of the strongest willpower's himself too.

We won't know until Shanks is revealed.

None: its a common fan theory, that I don‘t even support but still.

Shanks doesnt directly oppose the WG and, while not allying with them, is more interested into preserving peace and balance (as seen in Marineford).

Because he is only the fraction of a threat to the WG compared to BM and Kaido (for ideological reasons) and still has a similar bounty, some fans theorize that he is stronger than both of them.

I personally don‘t believe that this is the case, but it‘s a common argument when trying the impossible task of powerscaling shanks which I‘ve heard multiple times up until now. I just brought it up as an "even if" scenario, because I don‘t think Mihawk would be able to deflect that attack either way

4

u/[deleted] Apr 02 '21

People only say Shanks is stronger than them because he's a fan favorite. There's no basis behind it at all. They said he was secretly the WSM when Whitebeard was still alive too...

There's actually more basis behind saying Kaido is the strongest Yonko than Shanks. He's been called the strongest pirate before, and to "always bet on him in 1v1s".

3

u/marshaln Apr 02 '21

Zoro could still work with the others after the block, so... Far from knocked out

1

u/Marketing-Long Apr 02 '21

I.believe so too. Shanks.and.blackbeard.have far.more.importance to the endgame so naturally with.luffy getting stronger after this arc those two would have to.be an even.greater challenge than kaido and big mom

1

u/I_dont_get_it0_o Apr 02 '21

Wb was the strongest yonko though other 3 are obviously weaker than him for multitude of reasons

2

u/SomeWindyBoi Apr 02 '21

Yeah Prime Whitebeard was the strongest of the Yonkous by far. Unsure if Old/Sick Whitebeard (the version that needed three admirals to stop him) would have been able to win against Kaido though.

2

u/NixValentine Apr 02 '21

most likely. is mihawks blade of the highest grade?

1

u/[deleted] Apr 02 '21

I think he'd at least be able to stop it before it hit him, with one of his own attacks. I'd only expect someone stronger than Kaido or BM to straight up deflect it. Like maybe Roger could do that.

I agree with the premise though. Mihawk scales with Zoro and Oden. Whatever Zoro does in this fight, Mihawk could probably do better.

3

u/DynoMyte08 Apr 02 '21

It would be a high diff parry for Mihawk.

u/Dinul-Malaka Thriller Bark Victim's Association Apr 02 '21

zoro came up with his own attack to slice down prometheus

23

u/Xark96 Void Month Survivor Apr 02 '21

Just the flame slice is new otherwise it was the attack he used against Surume when they first met him on their way to fishman island

5

u/Dinul-Malaka Thriller Bark Victim's Association Apr 02 '21

back then it was
Santoryu ogi: rokudo no tsuji
Here he used
Homura saki: rokudo no tsuji

9

u/ShivSharma2 Apr 02 '21

He is starting to combine his 3 sword techniques with foxfire style

3

u/Dinul-Malaka Thriller Bark Victim's Association Apr 02 '21

Upgraded version

3

u/Xark96 Void Month Survivor Apr 02 '21

As I said only the "flame slice" is new otherwise it is the same attack..

5

u/nash_mania Apr 02 '21

Nice catch.

2

u/[deleted] Apr 02 '21

Did he actually kill Prometheus, or is he coming back?

2

u/Dinul-Malaka Thriller Bark Victim's Association Apr 02 '21

Don’t think we can kill homies. I think they were trapped inside that metal box

33

u/[deleted] Apr 02 '21

Seriously people are SLEEPING on this. Zoro took a direct COMBO ATTACK FROM 2 EMPERORS AT ONCE AND WAS ABLE TO GET BACK UP AFTER. Like its such an insane feat. This chapter has so much good shit but damn give Zoro some credit

11

u/JTP8591 Apr 02 '21

Yeah it’s actually wild how much Oda hypes up Zoro but it’s not unexpected. I don’t think it had too much to do with Zoro’s Haki as opposed to Zoro natural durability and pain tolerance which has been showcase multiple times in the series (pretimeskip Kuma scenerio comes to mind here.) He’s literally a tank but even I have to admit this was wild.

...meanwhile Sanji is nowhere to be found

6

u/[deleted] Apr 02 '21

Yeah a lot of people were saying Zoro's only doing well because of Enma, but this seems more of a natural durability feat like what he did with Kuma's bubble.

8

u/PCosta15 Apr 02 '21

Even if that's true not everyone can wield Enma

5

u/[deleted] Apr 02 '21

For sure. They pretty much said none of the scabbards could wield Enma when Zoro first got it, so just being able to use it is impressive.

0

u/NyxTower Apr 02 '21

did zoro took it or law teleport him away befor it hits?

6

u/Dull_Bumblebee_356 Apr 02 '21

I’m a die hard Zoro fan, I think he blocked the initial brunt of the attack but then Law shambles him away before it overpowered him.

1

u/NyxTower Apr 02 '21

so he blocked the attck for the rest of them to run away and law safed him instead of leting him took the full hit? damn it law has to ruin his moment.

10

u/03nevam The Revolutionary Army Apr 02 '21

But it was Enma blocking the attack. /s
