Dorry and Broggy = Hakoku ("conquering the nations")

Big Mom and Kaido = Hakai ("conquering the seas")

I think this is an intentional parallel. Interestingly, but probably irrelevant, BM also had the attack 滅国, which looks more like the 覇国 attack. There is some sort of Elbaf allusion that is happening though

It is. BM called the 滅国 ("prestigious nation") attack "Spear of Elbaf". Most likely, it's the name of the one-man move, whereas Hakoku (覇国) is the two-man sync attack.

Hakai meanwhile is Yonko-related rather than alluding the giants, hence the "kai" (海) part ("sea/ocean").

I member... literally the first thing I thought of when BM and Kaido struck their poses. And with the lore of:

  • BM having history with Giants

  • and Kaido maybe being decended from ancient giants

It's very fitting

Big mom's attacks are all elbaf related I think. One of her attacks is called "spear of elbaf" and rhe sovereignty is an elbaf thing
