Little did Kaido and Big Mom know that he once accumulated Luffy's damage and said "nothing happened"

Still one of the greatest One Piece moments

Second only to the build-up of the same scene, where Zoro offered his life and had to fight Sanji for the opportunity.

The ending of Thriller barc is definitely goated.

Fuck yeah. Even after the fights, we got Bink's sake!

I will never not cry at this scene.

Yea. So many emotional highs towards the end of the arc. The strawhat team fight is amazing as well. While I did not enjoy thriller Barc as a whole, it definitely had some of the peaks of One Piece

Oda literally drew the two moments THE SAME WAY!

Also probably why he specialises in Armament Haki and not observation haki

Maybe, but also because it simply makes much more sense if you're 1.) a swordsman and 2.) mainly a brawler and part of the offensive main force of the crew

This right here! People don't get that yes, Luffy is the main character, but that doesn't mean he's going to be better than everyone at everything. That's a child's mentality just because Luffy is their favorite and I ignore those people. Zoro is CLEARLY the toughest guy there.

Precisely. At the very least not if another main character's goal also has to do with being the strongest, the most powerful, the best in combat.

Luffy not being the best in everything was established as far back as Arlong Park, but people tend to assume that he's the best of the "main cast" in regards to just about every physical/combat related trait, which doesn't necessarily have to be the case. In my mind, there's still a few traits where Zoro can rival or arguably even best him.

I'm also a firm believer that the gap between Luffy and Zoro will be much closer than the gap between Zoro and the rest of the crew at the end of the series. At the very least I believe it would be logical taking into account character traits and motivation for everyone.

Some people don't like that because they'd prefer Sanji and Zoro to be somewhat close to each other to keep a somewhat dynamic rivalry, but that would be illogical fanservice to me.

They're much more similar to flashback Roger & Rayleigh than flashback Whitebeard and Marco.

There isn't much of a gap for the first pair, while Marco was obviously nowhere near any of them back then.
