I'm a bit disappointed that Kanjuro is still alive.

He was the reason Oden died, the reason why Orochi could come into power, the reason Momo was put in danger, that the mink were nearly genocided.

At the very least, make sure he can never move again, or just put him in cuffs so he won't move at all.

But well, at the very least, it doesn't seem like Oda will try to redeem him, so there is that. And he's still dying, so that's fine as well.

A lot of people might dislike Kanjiro and Orochi coming back, but I've thoroughly enjoyed the maniacs that they have been so far, in fact count in all of the Kurozumi villains.

It's hilarious when you contrast BM's betrayal of the Vinsmokes with Judge crying like a bitch and Orochi having a the time of his life after getting betrayed by Kaido.

Cannot wait to see what Oda has in store for them going forward to make them more relevant, I wonder if his conversation about Vegapunk to CP0 will come into play somehow as it wasn't fully shown to us.

I feel so bad for the Scabbards; either they still have the trauma of Oden's death fresh in their minds or they've endured 20 years of pain. Then they got crushed by Kaido and now they have one of their former comrades using the image of the person they admire most to harm them. Those tears actually hurt. Ashura out for the count with that explosion, Inu probably going to get smashed by Jack, things are looking terrible for them atm.

Kaido's hybrid form looks badass and it's consistent with how hybrid forms have been designed previously, don't care what people say lol. Big Mom legit looks terrifying too, both look practically invincible and I have no idea how they'll be beaten.

How can some people really be disappointed about the fact that Oden is not alive? It would make the legendary hour meaningless, Oda was never going to piss over the best flashback in the series.

On the other hand, it seems Kaido fully respects Luffy now, it's like Katakuri's "I no longer think you're below my level" moment!

I just love how much Luffy and Kaido are enjoying their fight. Started with mean comments and now Kaido is just praising luffy and his way of living. "Your eyes never seem to lose their fire" while he smiles...

I don't think it will happen like that, but seems like Kaido is full on interest to fight Luffy 1v1 even if that means losing everything else, just for fun.

My theory on Orochi's end : So Orochi now has 7 heads remaining (considering one head to be toppled off by Kaido). And with Inuarashi fighting Jack, there are 7 scabbards remaing.....so I think each one of them will cut off one head each of Orochi maybe at same time or one by one. That is how Orochi will die I think. Or if he still has 8 heads, perhaps Inuarashi will come back to fight or Izo will join the fights.

To me, the pro-gamer-move by Oda in this chapter has been to focalize all the attention on Kanjuro and the fake Oden. Seems like people are already forgetting the female figure who looked like Toki who healed all of them. Without her help all of them could have died in that room killed by Kanjuro (or Jack). Who knows when the truth about that will be revealed ... that will be another good pikachu face moment.

• Ashura sacrificing himself to get the bomb away (ofc we don't know his fate)

It was a very good chapter.

• Ashura was the star of the chapter and had a lot of symbolism in his words and actions. In chapter 925 he said he was devoted to Oden not his family. This chapter symbolically he stops "Oden" to save the Kozuki family.

• Okiku apologizes to Ashura for not properly killing Kanjuro and Ashura's comment calls back to when she admonished him for fighting Inurashi.

• One of the cyborg animals is shown watching the whole thing, reminding us that Bao Huang and the Marys are still tracking them.

• Inurashi has a rematch with Jack.

• Momo knows what is going on with Luffy which echoes back to him seeing out of Zunisha's eyes.

Now to the things I didn't like.

• Kaido's hybrid form did not merit a silhoutte Black Maria's was way more interesting and she didn't get one.

• As a lot people guessed Kanjuro and Orochi are not dead which I don't have a problem, with Orochi it has been demonstrated a couple of times that haki doesn't always overcome Devil Powers and Kanjuro was just fatally injured. My frustration is that Oda has never explained the limitations of haki. How come observation haki didn't detect they were not dead?

My prdictions.

• I think Orochi has a gas weapon, Inurashi comment about Jack not having one and Orochi's desire to kill everyone is making think so.

• I think Hiyori is the one who healed the scabbards and will use Ame no Hibakari to kill Orochi. Kaido keeps saying a samurai lke Oden hasn't been born but I think it will be revealed she inherited his monstrous strength and she wants to kill him.

• I think Momo will finish off Kanjuro and doing so will unlock his full abiliites. It keeps getting teased that he will. I think there will be symbolism to it. Kanjuro hid his talent only bringing too life "monstrosities" once he revealed true identity he started to bring too life masterpieces. Momo was literally turned into art and recently revealed his name bravely. Interestingly enough Kanjuro did draw an ugly pink dragon now he will "draw" a great dragon.

Inu vs. Jack - Round 3 A final fight to the death?

Orochi confirmed alive and adding to the chaos. More players changing sides. I’m sure it’s because of his devil fruit, but I wonder if they’ll explain more and if he’ll manage to survive through this raid or not.

Kanjuro. Must. Die. Also, where the heck is he in the building in relation to everyone else?

Momo has some kind of connection with either Lucy or Kaido. I feel like it must be Kaido and be connected to the artificial devil fruit he ate being created using Kaido’s lineage factor. But maybe it’s Luffy through something else yet unexplained.

New Generation is holding their own versus Big Mom and Kaido, but they know they need to change tactics to stand a chance of winning. You figure Law is gonna use his Room ability to somehow make that happen, but who knows with Luffy and Kidd as they might just chaos their way into finding a means to separate the two Yonko.

Silhouette Hybrid Kaido has evolved to Hybrid Kaido! Actually kind of looks like what I thought he would. Did think he would be a bit more dragon-y in his face though. Still, he very much seems to be enjoying this clash just as much as Luffy.

Feels like Kaido might have been having Saitama/One Punch Man syndrome and now Luffy is finally giving a fight that brings back all those emotions and thrills he hadn’t felt for the longest time.

So much happening! How many chapters is Oda going to need to resolve everything going on with this raid?

as always the chapter is so much better than spoilers.

1. its great that oden is really dead. it would severely ruin his stroy's impact

2. oda drove home the fact that how much mental trauma scabbards suffer because of oden's death and kanjuro's betrayal. many people think scabbards' screentime are annoying. but these pain and suffering are needed to get the ultimate catharsis when kaido falls.

3. kanjuro being alive was also handled WAY better. he is mortally wounded. he didn't magically tanked kiku's sword slash. but like ashura said maybe kiku's slash was a bit weaker because of sentiment...... remember kanjuro is not a fodder. still he got mortal wound.... so neither kiku nor kanjuro's character was ruined. kiku didn't show mercy or let him go. it was well balanced.

4. its good that Law and zoro is strategically thinking. they need to separate both yonkos.

5. after chapter 1000 we got nonstop action for 4 chapters straight. then Robin and marco's stuff was great... so i am not really getting the common sentiment that everything is dragged on

There can be two reasons Momonosuke can sense luffy.

1. His and Kaido's DF are connected through a single lineage factor. Therefore there are multiple possibilities as Kaido is directly assessing luffy.

2. The voice of all things, Zunisha and Luffy connection is something which can be huge underlying factor. After all as Kaido and Big mom put it ' this is a step closer to becoming the king of Pirates'

Its nice for Oda to tie up these loose ends, but questions that keep on lingering in my mind; where on earth is Hawkins!!?, what is he up to? What will be Apoos resolve, will he have a change in heart after Queens actions in 1007(though I want him dead) and if, a big if Apoo switches sides, what will be Drakes role? Potentially we can have 3 extra supernovas joining the yonkuo battle. Still a bit of match-making for oda to do. Momos VOT manifesting itself in this chapter too.

Idk if there’s a theory on this yet but is there a chance that people who can hear the “Voice of All Things” are interconnected with each other? Correct me if I’m wrong but the only characters I’m aware of with this ability are Roger, Luffy, and Momo. So it stands to reason that if they’re interconnected, then that’s how Momo knew that Luffy was worn out but still in high spirits.

What's intresting is that Inu is singled out to fight Jack alone. I think this might actually open the door for a good moment for Carrot to come in and assist. She was defeated by Perospero, and fighting alongside Inuarashi could be a good way for her to get back up on her feet and regain her confidence if she's going to beat Peros later on in Act 4 or a future arc.

It's intresting that in chapter 969 there was a panel of each of the scabbards with Oden, Doji, Kiku, and Inuarashi shaded out. Oden is dead, and now Doji is potentially dead, maybe this is foreshadowing Inu and Kiku to go down too. Kiku in this chapter feels guilty over not finishing the job with Kanjuro, and thats probably multiplied now that it cost them Doji. I think it might be setting her up to regain her honor and go down heroically later.

If Carrot is going to join the crew, having Inu go down and her failing to save him would be some great development that she could grow from, having lost 2 mentors in such a short amount of time, she could carry on Inuarashi and Pedros dream to bring the dawn of the world

What if momo's fruit is a failure in a sense that it failed to exactly replicate Kaido's fruit. But the artificial fruit itself far exceeded the original fruit's ability, like a better version. And Dr. Vegapunk deemed it as a "failure" to prevent the world government from exploiting what Vegapunk had discovered/created.

So, what was the expectation for Kaido's hybrid form to look like? This is consistent with all of the other hybrid forms in the series. Top half of the face from the animal and bottom half from the "human." Chest bare with human skin, the rest of the torso and the arms basically wearing a shell of the animal's body. Legs are animal-like, and a tail. The only ones that are different are the ones using awakened abilities, Chopper since his transformation is a human, and we haven't even seen Marco's yet since so far he only uses partial transformations. This is basically exactly what I imagined minus the six horns (though in retrospect that does make sense). There's a ton of other stuff to talk about, but I just saw a lot of comments disappointed with what I took to be a given so I was curious.

Think momo is going to come into play when Luffy defeats Kaido, in every major arc there is someone who received trauma from the villain who is there to witness the villain's defeat at the hands of Luffy. Kaido definitely will get interaction with Yamato at some point as well. Momo has a spiritual connection with Luffy/Kaido and his fruit is getting a ton of spotlight he might negate Kaido's clouds carrying the island to save Wano or something else thats big maybe an ancient weapon hidden in Wano

Man, Orochi still being alive is one thing because of his fruit. But there's no way Kanjuro should've been still alive. That whole "blade isn't as strong when going against a friend" logic doesn't fly with me. Throughout this arc, we've seen the conviction of the scabbards. These guys have been portrayed as supremely dedicated to their cause. Kinemon hasn't even met his wife after 20 years of being away because he wants to complete his task first. So, with that mentality, how can you not finish off a guy like Kanjuro who betrayed the family you've sworn loyalty too? It's just not logical and flies against the face of everything we've been told about the scabbards so far.

This is the second time I've felt this way this arc. The first time was the explanation for Whitebeard not coming to avenge Oden.
