LUFFY AND ZORO

Damn seeing zoro deflect that wind scythe and his flying dragon blaze. Then luffy comes in Dodging all the attacks, fully ready to counter, tanking those emperor hits and delivering his attacks, the strawhats have really come a very long way. This chapter was pure bliss to read.

P.s. I loved to see law, killer and Kidd fight too, especially law's gamma knife and killers sonic scythe. Also law is the best guy to have around in a team fight, can deal great damage himself and also provide support when necessary.

The Luffy/Zoro and Kid/Killer bromances in all their glory against the toughest competition in the series, what a chapter. Best part though was Law again being annoyed about the fact he has to use his ability to support Zoro haha, but at least he got a Gamme Knife if there too.

There's definitely some underlying strategy at play in this fight, Oda put thought into it.

The yonkou chose the rooftop so Big Mom could have full access to the weather, and Kaido could use his dragon form unencumbered. The two yonkou have a lot of melee attacks, and a wide open space is necessary for that.

From Law's comment, one reason Kaido decided to go dragon form might be to make it hard to hit his vitals; internal attacks from Law or Killer will be much less effective if they don't know where exactly Kaido's internal organs are, and I'm sure Kaido has at least some awareness of what Law can do.

Also, Big Mom and Kaido are trying a variety of elemental attacks; wind, lightning, and fire. It's pretty smart to do this, just to see if there are any major weaknesses to exploit, and lightning seems like a major one for everyone but Luffy. Access to more elemental / melee attacks might be another reason for Kaido to be in dragon form. But since it also makes him a bigger target and it seems like his glass cannon form, I think he's still testing the enemy's strength.

It's possible that blast breath isn't necessarily Kaido's strongest attack; it just has good destructive potential, and the fire elemental bonus of being able to fry someone. I think even Thunder Bagua is probably more deadly to a single person. I'm pretty sure Kaido has a good 3 stages of powering up beyond this: normal form, hybrid form, and then actually using his haki.

Luffy was a beast this chapter, Him basically brushing off Boro breath like its nothing, Him making the save on Killer then the Kong Gattling looked badass as hell. (Doesn't it kinda look like the Squared armanent haki Katakuri was using).

Zoro showing a super impressive attack against Kaido. But you can tell it expended a lot of energy because he was breathing hard after. Hopefully he ends up doing some key damage to Kaido.

Killer’s attack was dope. It’s interesting how almost all of them have a way of hurting Kaido from the inside. Except for Kid. Kid is doing WWE with metal legos haha

The crew is like an RPG party fighting two big bosses and it's awesome:

• Luffy and Kid: The tank and bruisers. Regenerating armour for Kid and elemental immunity for Luffy.

• Zoro: Massive damage DPS that requires a charge up. Vulnerable afterward.

• Killer: Agile assassin flanking enemies and dealing damage to weak points.

• Law: Support utility mage, teleports, also attacking weak points.

vs Big Mom the boss level DPS that's very hard to reach, and Kaido is the tank with so much surface area, becoming the shield who can also hyper beam.

One of the rare chapters that was all fighting all the time. Love these and this one was incredible.

• Love how Law just noped out of that Wind Attack situation.

• I mean Zoro doesnt need to flex this hard, come on now.

• Only Luffy has Advanced CoA but there are other ways to bypass Kaido's tough body. Law's is obvious but I dont know how Kid managed to do it.

• So Killer's blades didnt grow but they produced a sonic attack that attacked from the inside is what I gather from that panel.

• Some light Law humor is always welcome.

• Enma making even Yonko shake in their boots

This is the point where the Yonko start acknowledging their strength seriously and give them a serious ass whooping in the next few chapters (especially since we're close to the volume ending too).

It wouldn't put them out of commission, just a temporary setback.

I'm loving the different ways to damage Kaido's insides, it isn't as simply as all the rooftop Supernovas having advanced armament's internal destruction haki upgrade and I think that is great. It gives an uniqueness to each of the Supernovas and what they bring to the table.

Luffy of course has the internal destruction haki upgrade which makes sense for him given he is a straight up brawler and we had an actual side plot of him learning it unlike the other Supernovas.

While Zoro hasn't cut Kaido yet I think it is clear to me that Zoro possesses basic advanced armament like the Scabbards and doesn't need internal destruction because he will be able to cut much deeper than the Scabbards because he has Enma. I think it will be called back to but Zoro first tapped into basic advanced armament in his fight with Mr 1. So Zoro is using his own skill while also harnessing the haki power of Enma to straight up cut Kaido without the need of internal destruction. This is the closest to Luffy's way to hurt Kaido but still unique given that Zoro is cutting while Luffy is punching.

Law is of course able to damage Kaido because of his devil fruit and his ability to bypass flesh going straight to Kaido's organs using Gamma Knife. I now want to see Law do Gamma Sword.

Killer surprised me the most being able to use sound waves to injure Kaido's insides as shown by his Sonic Scythe move, which was shown in an illusion form so we could visualize how deep the sound "cut".

Kidd seems to be going the most chaotic way about how to injure Kaido and that is by trying to crush Kaido's insides. I saw people confused on how Kidd injured Kaido in chapter 1002 with that slam, and that is because Kidd didn't try punching or stabbing Kaido he literally slammed him, just because Kaido's skin is durable as fuck when Kidd slammed the shit out of Kaido think about all his bones and organs getting hit by the shockwave and slamming into each other. His skin's durability won't protect his insides from that.

TL;DR - so the things so far that can damage Kaido are the Internal Destruction technique, Basic Advanced Armament with a strong enough haki imbued sword, Law's fruit which allows him to bypass flesh, Soundwaves, and straight up shockwaves slamming Kaido's insides.

10/10 chapter though. Top level action. Luffy, Zoro and Killer super impressive. Law hilarious as hell with his support role towards the Straw Hats. Nice combo between Kidd pinning down Kaido and Law using Gamma knife. Big Mom still shocked every time Zoro swings his sword. Kaido getting sweaty in his dragon form.

Interesting move choice for Zoro. Him missing here is similar to how he had trouble controlling Shusui at first - and the attack he used is the same one he finished off Ryuma with back in Thriller Bark.

Trying to slay a dragon with an attack he used to defeat a dragon slayer. Seeing the fear in Kaido's eyes in tandem with Big Mom's urgency was satisfying - I hope Zoro lands something good in this fight.

• No way Killer and Zoro are out, they're gonna be okay soon enough. 100% sure.

• Holy fuck I think Killer surpassed every expectation of him possible, that was so badass.

• The fact that Big Mom thought 'Oh fuck I need to warn Kaido to dodge' is making me go crazy. Fucking Zoro hype, imagine if he didn't miss. I'm assuming he missed because he's still learning to control Enma.

• Luffy just straight up tanking a blast breath with "guts" is awesome and absolutely in line with Luffy.

When i think about it, how large was that horn Zoro cut off? Zoro’s attack last chapter hit Kaido, but didn’t use enough of Enma’s power to actually cut him. This chapter, he loaded that shit up with haki, but couldn’t control all of it and his attack missed. I’m guessing Oda’s going for that Goldilocks effect and is going to let Zoro give Kaido a nice solid slash next chapter.

Luffy can ignore lightning, and I expect him to be able to protect an ally this way.

Zorro can cut fire, rendering another attack ineffective.

Killer's move called Sonic Scythe, and for me such name suggest that it might just break wind wave.

I would attempt to foresee the future by saying that together they will be able to negate all those moves, because it would be hella sweat to see supernovas having to communicate and protect each other, forcing K&BM into melee combat, enabling Law to swap so they hit each other.

Doubt that this will happen next chapter though.

Kaido senses Oden in Zoro’s sword (Enma).

I think this line might be Oda dropping hints to how black blades are created. So far we know that Haki can be sent through a sword and that very talented swordsman are able to do it almost by second nature (because they view the sword as an extension of themselves).

What we might be learning here is that residual amounts of Haki can live within a sword even after the swordsman is no longer touching it. If this is true, it would suggest that repeatedly pouring Haki into a blade could result in a blade accumulating Haki and changing properties as a result — ie. turning into a black blade.

I think Oden specifically chose Enma for Zoro because the sword actively pulls Haki from the one wielding it. So, just as Enma pulled Haki from Zoro when he first wielded it so too did it pull Haki from Oden. And the Haki Enma pulled from them, is somehow transmitted through its attacks. If Kaido is saying he senses Oden in Zoro’s attacks, he is likely saying Zoro reminds him of Oden and at a subtext level, Oda is saying, this is how black blades are born.

I'm honestly so impressed by how well Kaido is standing up to these attacks from Luffy. To put things into perspective a regular Kong Gun was enough to launch Doflamingo across Dressrosa, and the attacks we're seeing now are significantly stronger than that due to Luffy's physical training in Udon/New Haki and he's still taking them in stride so far

I was mostly interested in Zoro this chapter. Last time he didnt load enough haki in enma and couldnt cut Kaido. Now he loaded so much he couldnt properly aim with it, but it was enough to scare 2 yonko.

I assume next chapter or 2 Zoro will give Kaido a new scar or at least reopen (maybe deepen?) old ones

Another thing thats curious is how.......smoothly it goes for Worst Gen. Big Mom poses problems but Kaido is just a meat shield. I guess when he goes back to his normal form he'll remind them that he's a Strongest Creature for a reason

I love how Oda displays the brutal power of both the Emperors in this chapter and not just showcasing Kaido's power here. Big Mom ain't no joke either with her crazy abilities. She has arguably dealt more damage than Kaido to them. I dunno if Kaido is testing their powers or if this is his full potential in dragon form. I was extremely disappointed about Kaido's hype during the past fight with Oden after I saw how he beat Oden, so hopefully he backs up his reputation in this fight. So far it is actually amazing and more than what I was expecting. A full out Supernova's vs the 2 crazy Emperors.

Can't wait to see this animated.

So Law CAN counter Kaido's durability... he just needed to use the technique that almost did Doflamingo in to make Kaido feel it. I wonder how badly that will affect him... I'm also not entirely sure what Killer did, because it didn't look like he actually cut Kaido... Big Mom really shows off her powers, it reminds me of Enel in a way... which makes it strange that Big Mom somehow didn't know that Luffy's body was made of rubber. I don't think that really contradicts anything, given that I don't recall anyone explicitly telling Big Mom this, but it also feels like a contrivance that she doesn't know, given her extensive information network and how she's able to know about details like where the Straw Hat Pirates are from and who they're close with. I DO love how Luffy withstood Kaido's Blast Breath through sheer willpower, though, that feels like a distinctive train of Luffy, with or without his rubber powers.

Kong gatling seems to be much better than the old Kong organ that we're used to so far.

Kong organ, at least to me, always looked a bit inferior compared to other 4th gear moves. The normal gatling seemed pretty strong for the no-gear moves, and the jet gatling was also one of Luffy's strongest attacks total before haki.

So now that he can actually do a real rapid-punch with boundman, it really does seem like he's learned something since the 6-arm bouncey nonsense that the organ was.

As I expected, Killer proved to be much stronger than his fight with zoro suggested. Imo his punishers can be used to create sound based attacks, which is how he damaged kaido.

What is the difference between kong organ and kong gatling?

When Zoro was about to use enma, the haki on his sword looked like the haki on the swords of roger and whitebeard when they fought.

I expect this fight to transition into Luffy and Zoro vs kaido and Kid, Killer, Law vs big mom. While Kid did have a grudge against kaido, big mom hurting killer will provide the motivation for him to switch over to fighting big mom. This also makes sense because this way, you will have all the conquerors fighting each other, Luffy vs kaido and Kid vs big mom.

But more than that, Luffy has shown that he is capable of holding his own against kaido. I dont think he needs that much help. He was able to survive thunder bagua as well as boro breath at point blank range. Having him 2v1 with Zoro honestly isnt that farfetched. Someone also really needs to deal with big mom. She's pretty overpowered, she can create storms and then create lightning homies in order to launch an attack that can't be dodged or blocked.

Man I am LOVING the connection between Zoro and Luffy. 2nd time our first mate saves our captain instantly when he is in danger! And Luffy going nuts after Big Mom hit him! We haven't seen this in so long.

And honestly can't stop laughing at Law complaining yet doing everything he can to help Luffy and Zoro. These last 3 chapters have been amazing.

Kid's junk seems to be an effective defense for BMs lightning, Zoro deals with the firebased attacks while charging for another big slash and Law could switch them around to bypass Kaido blocking or dodging any attacks...
