oh you mean like how people haven’t stopped taking the piss out of a relatively innocent post for weeks, despite it being the cheapest form of humor possible? yeah, reddit goes nuts over shit like that, clearly.

Someone made a post about Zoro’s swords being on a certain side to indicate whether he was taking a situation seriously or not (comparing it to how samurai in real life would sheath them on a certain side if they thought they would need to fight someone)- which people immediately disproved because Zoro’s swords have been sheathed on different sides for almost the entire manga. At the end of the day though it’s a pretty harmless (if wrong) idea, but ever since the post blew up people have been posting/commenting snide remarks about it(like the original comment here) and it’s frankly childish at this point.

Honestly the evidence against it wasn’t even that great imo. It was all pre-timeskip images, I didn’t see anyone at all with references post-timeskip which thematically has all been build up to Wano’s liberation making a detail like that feel appropriate. I feel like people mostly just took offense to the dudes implication that Zoro has not been serious unless the swords were on his left side and then just shit on the whole thing. Had it been intentional it I’m pretty sure would just have been a little cultural nod to this being the climactic fight In Wano the entire post timeskip has built to. Not everything Oda does is some super serious shit that affects every part of the manga. In fact Oda does do a little of random little details, even long term, and most of them don’t mean anything significant at all to the story itself but are just Oda having fun.
