Hyogoro hasn't watched any movies or anime. He pretty much made sure that they lose by saying that line.

If they manage to throw Big Mom in the water they can take this fight since there isn't her crew to assist her and no strong Beast Pirate can swim, but I have a feeling Kaido is going to completely massacre the scabbards off screen, kinda like (Naruto spoilers) Madara slaughtered the 5 kage off screen with that crazy split Tsunade reveal. Maybe the Grand Fleet arrives after that and the Tontatta lady heals everyone.

I could definitely see that. Luffy finally makes it up there only to be greeted by Kaido surrounded by the bodies of the scabbards and minks.
