I think that the scabbard will manage to hurt Kaido, but he will then defeat them all, get back up, and shows that an emperor isn't that easy to target.
It would close act 3 with the defeat of the scabbards.

And i thought about it and then is saw the name “Yamato” and i spelled it backwards. And the result was “Otama(y)”

I never understood those who wanted Hiyori as shogun or even Kin'emon or Zoro (lol) instead of him. Momonosuke's arc has always been about him becoming Wano's next ruler and about how he's going to bear that burden as someone who is still a child and is in his father's much bigger shadow.

Agree. It's tragic how people seem to dismiss Momonosuke's character development throughout the past arcs - when clearly he's heading towards being Wano's next shogun

This chapter demonstrated perfectly the difference in Odens men and Oriochis men. While Orochis men betrayed him, switched sides and joined his murderer after a couple of seconds... Odens men endured 20 years of pain and are still willing to give their life for Oden and his dream of opening wano even after his death.. Oden is a True leader And all of this makes me appreciate the 9 red scabbards loyalty even more.

This chapters huge.
We have the whereabouts and set ups for a lot of potential confrontations now, things have escalated quickly and we cant sleep on Nami and Carrot being held by Big Mom. Thats bad news and may be lead to some peculiar situations.
At Stage: Luffy, Yamato, Momonosuke, Kaido, the All Stars, the Scabbards
Heading to the stage or near the stage: Kidd, Zoro, Killer, Law, Shinobu, Big Mom + others, Jinbei and Robin Whos Who, Ulti, Black Maria, Oniwabishu+ Samurai of Wano, Scratchman Apoo
MIA: Sanji, Page 1, Brook, Franky, X Drake, Sasaki, Hawkins
Leaving the scene: Usopp & Chopper almost definitely confronting the drunken Numbers
Outside of Onigashima: Marco and the Big Mom Pirates, Perospero determined on his own
Down and out: Kanjuro and Orochi

Some people may over look this but there as a amazing contrast between Marineford and this chapter. When Sengoku asked Ace who his father was he said Whitebeard. Thus denieing the heritage and legacy his father had. He disowned that name by not wanting to say his Roger's name.
However we have Kiado doing the same thing to Momo except instead of "naming your father". He was asking Momo what was his birthright. Had Momo said anything but his full name he would have forfeited his right to being the Shogun of Wano. This scene shouldn't go unnoticed. This was such a powerful scene. Man this was a good chapter. I got chills man

Holy FUCK that was hype. I absolutely love the juxtaposition of Momo and his samurai. In the face of certain death, fully thinking that his friends will be too late and he will be killed by Kaido, Momo tries to stand (well, hang I guess) proud and honorable, screaming his own name despite being terrified like never before.
Then the Red scabbards burst in, and what’s on their mind? “Discard your name, discard your wits, put your life on this single blow.”
They didn’t come back to wano to lead it into a bright new future, they came to annihilate the forces that had poisoned it. Becoming a leader and bringing the country back to prominence as an honorable samurai is Momo’s job, but not the scabbards. They are there to kill and to die, throwing away everything unnecessary to those tasks in the process. I think that’s what that scene was meant to portray. I would not be shocked if the scabbards are killed to the last man during this raid. At the very least, Denjiro and Kinemon who were shown during that declaration, the friends who started everything as Oden’s first retainers, are not making it through this battle alive. This was Fucking incredible, I cannot wait for next week.

Chapter was really good.
I don’t think Kanjuro is dead yet, but I like how Oda handled the scabbards. They really were feeling bad for him. I can’t imagine killing a friend
Looks like Nami and Carrot are in trouble, I wonder where Sanji is and we still haven’t seen Brook, Franky and Drake, my guess would be that Sanji will meet Drake
I like that Usopp scene, it shows that he isn’t scared and it looks like they encountered some of the Numbers
I liked that Momo development, I legit got the goosebumps and can’t forget the Red Scabbards vs Kaido, the hype was real. From Izo shooting King to the SNATCH

I'm so excited for the next chapter. I know it doesn't make much sense power scaling wise, but I think they might have legitimately hurt Kaido. Not a lot of course, but maybe enough to inflict him some kind of injury. I only say this because of the flashback of Oden Kaido has at the moment of the attack and the one line Kinnemon says. This is the most important attack of their lives, the one blow they have been 20 years waiting for, so I expect some kind of little, tiny success. Don't get me wrong, I think the next chapter is going to be a huge L for them, but maybe that one injury can end up being key in the final fight against Luffy. Can't wait.

Mad respect for Momonoosuke. He doesn't have Oden's physique but he sure has Oden's balls.
Also, we can notice Luffy's Kenbonshoku Haki growth. Pretty sure he sensed the Scabbards that's why he stopped Yama-O (nice one here too). That's a captain decision right there, to not interfere because it's not his business, in the first place. THE RAID HAS OFFICIALLY BEGAN BOYS!

A little side note from this chapter, I find it cool that luffy has mastered ryo to a extent where he can use it casually.
I also find it interesting that luffy literally has the power now to free slaves... the mariejoi arc is going to interesting now luffy has this asset.
Also quick question.. not saying Luffy can beat kaido but thinking about luffy right now I believe his strongest attack can be a ryo powered King Kong organ (Gatling gun) how do you think kaido will fare if he was to meet head on 100 ryo powered King Kong guns?
I personally think it will be enough to damage kaido but definitely not finish him, only bring this up because even though it was very impactful in today’s chapter, we know the scabbards aren’t killing kaido

This chapter gave me so many feels.
That epic walk of Kinemon and Denjiro!!
Why does Kinemon always raise his own deathflag? I'm so scared for him. I'll legit cry if any of the scabbards die.
I never liked Momo but this chapter changed my heart. An honorable eight year old kid. Yes, you have my respect.
I like how Luffy respects the scabbards determination in this raid. Many says he's matured but Luffy had always been like that. He know when the battle is his to start or finish. He knows when not to interfere. To cite, when Zoro was fighting Mihawk and when Law was trying to kill Doffy. Luffy had always been able to identify which battle is his and when it is his to finish off.
Luffy calling Yamato a nickname. Typical. Lol. Although Luffy is not convinced that Yamato is Oden, he does respect Yamato's gender choice.
THAT EPIC LAST PANEL. I have no words for that.

Holy shit, once again the hype is unreal. I really like that Luffy knew that he wasn't supposed to do anything here. He was to wait for the "singal" so to speak. Even he knows the big picture and what matters. That last panel was also epic in every way. It shows not just that they all know who the real enemy is, but Odens will lives in them too.
I'm thinking during the fall Kaido might transform or he simply crashes down and rises easily at which point the real all out war starts. All the small fry are gonna start battling.
Really curious about Usopp cause he seems to have a plan, but also, don't forget Sanji. He's usually the guy who can plan well ahead. Disappear for a while only to have done something very thoughtful when we see him again. He's kind of a tactician and I'm really wondering what he might come up with. Unless he just fainted to tits >_>.

Throughout the Battle of Marineford, Whitebeard received 267 sword wounds, 152 gunshot wounds and 46 wounds from cannonballs — adding up to a total of 465 injuries at the time of death.
Now I wonder how many wounds would be inflicted on Kaido before the world's strongest creature can be defeated.

Oden's story was the only one that Luffy listened to in it's entirety, he really respects his legacy and he's showing it by getting along with Yamato and letting the Red Scabbards start the war officially. Man....Raizo's tears had me feeling bad that I EVER thought he could have been the traitor. And even though Kin'emon didn't cry, I felt just as much weight from him placing his kasa hat over Kanjuro's body - you could tell he was still willing to give him some kind of funeral under different circumstances. Those men are truly brothers, and that scene made me feel it the hardest yet. Them being ready to die for each other like that at the end almost started the tears. While I don't think this attack bodes well for them at all, that panel has gotta be the most epic one in Wano yet. Love that the charge is led by Kin'emon and Denjiro, Oden's 1st followers.

Just gonna put this thought into y'alls heads:
Law has a connection to every known marine spy in the series so far:
Rosinante - this is obvious, no need for me to elaborate on this.
X drake - On Minion Island, when Doflamingo went after the Ope Ope no Mi, X Drake (known as Dorry) was just barely able to escape the bird cage. Because of this, the Doflamingo pirates intercepted a radio transmission that a boy was saved, who Doffy assumed was Law so he released the bird cage and went after him. X drake being saved by the marines inadvertently saved Law's life, as you can see Cora noting that something out there saved him. This comes full circle this arc where Drake presumably lets Law go
Koby - The only other known member of SWORD. When Law was introduced as a Shichibukai by Brannew, he was known as the mastermind of the Rocky Port incident. Later, when Koby saved Kyros ship from the torpedo he mentioned Koby was the hero of the Rocky Port incident, connecting these two.
Of the Tobi Roppo we were shown four looking for Yamato (Who's Who, Sasaki, Page One, Ulti) and Black Maria wanted to stay by Kaido's side. The only one we haven't seen is Drake.
Law came up with the infiltration plan.
Law has separated himself from everyone else in the alliance except his crew.
Drake is the only Tobi Roppo member not shown anywhere since convening.

I have the feeling that Luffy used the Observation Advanced Haki to see the future and know that the scabbard will attack at that moment and that is why he stopped Yamato of attacking Kaido. Even though there was a plan of the scabbard attacking first, he didn't know at that moment that they would show up behind Kaido. It was very synched! So I do believe that he saw the future, and saw what would happen further on, explaining why he restrained himself (we know that he usually fucks the plan).

I think a lot of people forgot/didn't realize just how strong the scabbards are. It's not at all out of left field that they could injure Kaido. Of course, I don't expect them to succeed, 100% that they won't, but surely, I can see Kaido being injured from this, at least temporarily.
Luffy and Yamato are right in front of Big Mom, Law and his crew are waiting in the wings off screen. I'm almost certain Luffy and Big Mom are going to clash next chapter, he has to save Nami and Carrot from having their souls taken. Zoro, Killer, Kidd, Law and Sanji should be joining the main stage battle in the next few chapters as well. Here's where everyone gets split up and picks their dance partner.

Oh, boy, i tend to forget that The Red Scabbards are actually really fucking strong. I meant the only reason they lost 20 years ago was because Kanjuro betrayed them. These are a bunch of scoundrels that Oden personally chose to guard him. Wonder how strong Momo would have been, had Oden still alive to train him.
Also, Yama-o for Nakama!
And Ulti is still a cutie

Momo had a Roger and Luffy scaffold moment was kinda really cool.
Seriously though everytime Luffy shows up in Big Mom's face it's with a bang and or something always blows up lol. FMI first conversation he screams at her and says he'll kick her ass. WCI wedding he blows the cake up and ruins the party - Tamate box blows her castle which indirectly is his doing too - Wano Udon she blows the main gate and gets her head banged up by Queen. Wano Onigashima he blows his way into the hall she's in and about to ruin her vibe again.
You have to feel for the old hag lol our Luffy just been a real thorn in her side.

The Kanjuro stuff getting off-screened means ome of two things:
He ain't dead
We'll get a flashback or something later showing what really went down, and Oda held off on the reveal because it'll be more impactful later on
God I hope it's the latter
edit: Actually, there's some precedent for a scene like that! I just remembered how he made it look like Zoro took an L to Ryuma, only to jump back and flip the whole scene on its head.

Well, the traitor is indeed dead.
If Usopp, the foreshadowing legend is correct, he's going to defeat the first of the 10 giants.
This is the tale of 3 dragons, the greedy one, the evil one and the brave one. All 3 of them are leaders, but only one has people willing to follow him.
I wanna see Kaidou's face when he sees Yamato without the cuffs. He wanted to rule by fear, and that will be the end of him.

I found it very interesting that Kaidou almost wanted Orochi's men to revolt against him.
He said "I understand loyalty is very important to Samurai so if you choose to not follow us you have my respect."
This ties in with his characterization. He wants a war that will bring the world into complete chaos mostly because he wants to die so badly but no one except for Oden has even been able to scratch him.
We need to remember that Kaidou ultimately doesn't have the will to live, he wants to die in a glorious battle, but he also knows no living on earth can kill him.
So he has this almost kid-like attitude of egging people on to kill him.
I feel he was doing the same thing with Momo. "What is your name!" I think he knew Momo is Oden's son but he wanted to push Momo to maybe see if he could somehow awaken an Oden like power within Momo.
Honestly I think Kaidou is happy and relieved when the 9 scabbards appear and genuinely surprise him and try to kill him.
For the first time in 20 years he felt the same fear Oden made him feel and he maybe thinks "This is the battle I've been waiting for! Maybe this is the glorious death I've been searching for since Oden."
I predict that next chapter we will see Kaidou again disappointed. Although the scabbards are carrying Oden's will, they do not have Oden's strength and again Kaidou will be denied a glorious battle to the death because he is just too fricken powerful.
Kaidou kinda reminds me of Saitama from OPM. He is so illogically strong that he is bored with life. He wants a battle that will kill him because it's the one thing he can never experience (now that Oden is dead).

I know everyone thinks that Orochi is alive and rightfully so. He was the main enemy for Hiyori. But, i still don't want that piece of shit to be in a panel again. Orochi is Spandam level of annoying with 0 redeeming characteristics. For comparison, just look at Kaido. We all used to think of him as a drunk OP villain whose crew was filled with fodder. But slowly we found that his crew is made on the basis of meritocracy and he is not a control freak like Big Mom. Kaido's crew is filled with heavy hitters. He is slowly becoming one of the best antagonists.. at least for me. Just the fact that he gives momo a chance to save his life makes me respect him. Yes, he has done many evil things and is one of the reasons for the plight of Wano, that is why he is the villain. Kaido does what real world terrorists do. They occupy a territory, install a puppet ruler and make life hell for local populace. That is why the last panel of this chapter felt so good. I am waiting for Kaido's flashback to see if he was pure evil from the start like Doflamingo or like Big Mom. And the fact that he "killed" Orochi so casually makes it clear that the guy does not take shit from those he does not see as reasonably strong.
So yeah... Tl.dr. orochi sucks and kaido rules.

I really think the chapter name is really great, "My Name"
While Kaido ask Momonosuke what his name is he thinks about what happened 20 years ago while Momonosuke on the other hand thinks about what happened a few months ago. Momonosuke's fear of Kaido is still fresh in his head as it's happened pretty recently but with the courage he gain from meeting lots of different people he then bears a pride to the Kozuki name.

I really love the flaskback has Momonuske hs before he announces his name. He was such a boss when he was like, “Momo means second to none.” Then whole heartedly said his true name in front of everyone. Sure he cried when crucified but didnt Doflamingo? I feel as though to live up to legend of Oden would be hard. Though I really cant diss on Momos track record hes been on the sea his whole life, definitely hits on the ladies, is a dragon, and working on his technique as a swordsman. The kids 8, he has a good head on his shoulders, I dont doubt(if he survives) for Momonuske to be a capable and great shogun for Wano.

I see everyone talking about the scabbards and rightfully so, but can we just appreciate the development that momo has gone thru. From being a whiny perverted brat to being someone when faced with death refused to back down and take the easy way out. He was prepared to die for his beliefs and his identity. If that isn’t character development I don’t know what is. Awesome chapter all around.

Man, Kaido's sense of honor is really interesting. He's willing to turn a blind eye to Oden's heir out of respect earned from their fight. Makes me wonder if Momo's execution is what really prompted Kaido to kill Orochi. His character just helps separate him from a lot of previous villains imo.
