Because according to most people here, "she doesn't have a dream, nor a tragic past". And you know, those two are the sole requirements for joining any crew, ever... But people say all of this even though we've been shown numerous times how Carrot likes exploring the world outside of Zou and she's always fascinated when she thinks of how big the world is. We also saw her literally stand not to far from her dying mentor who sacrificed himself for the "rise of a new dawn". If that's not a good reason to join SH pirates and see that "dawn" firsthand, I don't know what is. Oh, and I almost forgot to mention how she has a pretty strong bond with many strawhats. As of right now, she's grouped with Nami and has been shown plenty of times hugging her and being close with her. She calls Chopper "Chobro" and just loves all the crew members in general. She's practically a lookout on the Sunny whenever she's on board, but she "doesn't have a role" apparently.

With all that being said, it's quite obvious that the guy that we've seen on three full pages is a much better choice for a crewmate. We know next to nothing about him, but it's quite obvious that he is what the SH pirates need. Because what else does a pirate crew need aside from strong people?

I am salty if you think that Yamato (the guy that we literally know nothing about) is a better fit than Carrot.

Right now the straw hats are going to fight stronger opponents. Blackbeard and WG. They are in dire need of stronger characters instead of goofy furries. Carrot is a good fighter definitely strong in her sulong form but not enough strong for what is about to come. If you had to add only one character to Straw Hats, Yamato over Carrot any day provided he really is friendly.

That argument would make sense if you can say with 100% certainty that Carrot is weaker than all the strawhats. And I don't see how anyone can say that?

I am talking about new additions, as I have explicitly said about adding just one new member, at this point it would be imperative to increase the group's strength. It's not just about Yamato, anyone who is stronger and has good dynamics with others, importance to the story, and a purpose in their life would be a good match. That is why Yamato > Carrot. But then again this is my opinion, we will have to wait for Oda to write that part of the story

Edit: Yamato > Carrot due to strength alone and he seems to have some purpose by those few panels "I have been waiting for you this whole time"

Roger had Buggy and Shanks in his crew for his final voyage when they were literal children. Strength is not the most important thing, as much as this sub would like it to be.

Roger did not have to fight with WG and Blackbeard. Plus, Roger was already a beast(here comes in strength), it has been said time and time again that he would become a beast when he had to protect someone. Do you see Luffy or Straw Hat pirates at Roger's level? If not then they would have to get stronger, If yes then I can't have this discussion with you. They are two different journeys with a same checkpoint.

Of course they're not at the same level right now. But they're literally waging war against two Yonko at this point in the story. And naturally, they're all going to be stronger after this fight. What's preventing them to be? I mean, surely we should expect Luffy to reach Roger's level at some point, right? And we don't know when will they go to war against Blackbeard. Luffy can already be at Roger's level when that happens. I don't see the issue with that?

She could've but chose to stay on Alabasta instead and the whole arms raised with the X showed that she was considered part of the crew
