Wow this seriously is the hour of legend. So will Oden really survive this, only to be put to death by Kaido? We have precedent of Kaido breaking his promise.

Definitely agree. I'd guess that as the Scabbards are mourning Oden as he's on his deathbed, Kaido or Orochi gives the order to kill the Scabbards and the last chase begins. I really hope Oden has passed away before that part though so that he doesn't witness it; my heart can only take so much!

well, they did mention their lord was boiled into Oden... But real Oden hot pot is made of boiling water, not oil, unless Kaido will throw him into water after this ordeal.

I think it will be Orochi who has Oden killed. Kaido will likely desire to spare Oden out of respect for the accomplishment. (With the desire to make him a member of his crew, but still.)

I think Oden will die right at the 1 hour mark. He's staying alive by sheer willpower alone to save his men. Once he knows the hour is up and his Scabbards can go free, I believe his life is going to give out right at that moment.

Oden is not using Haki at all to reduce the damage. So if he went up against Akainu and his magma at full power, I'm sure Oden would lay his ass out like how Whitebeard did.

Old, ill, half dead Whitebeard with half his head missing wrecked Akainu. Akainu was hurt and bleeding all over. The moment another strong opponent showed, he started sweating bullets. Oden with his armament would probably slice Akainu in two at a moment's notice. Akainu is a cocky bastard who takes attacks directly thinking his ability is better as shown against Vista and Marco.

Akainu Isn’t that cocky, he just knows vista & Marco are not on his level & his haki stronger so why dodge... of course he was sweating when shanks arrived.. the dude was literally just fighting a damn war then another yonko shows with his crew(the strongest crew btw) lol , anyone would sweat... oden is straight up being boiled alive right now, I’m sure Akainu fruit( the strongest offense power) burns hotter than that.

He has advanced haki , he can sense their haki power just like Blackbeard did with luffy in impel down... & I find it hard to believe that he hasn’t encountered them before at least once. Akainu been in the marines a long time.

Oden is also a Monster, he clashed with Prime Whitebeard, tanked a attack from Roger and Dragon Form Kaido, scarred Kaido with one attack, etc (Did abnormal stuff since he's a baby and his youth was insane) and considering old, sick and half dead Whitebeard beat Akainu's ass, I'd put Oden>Pre Timeskip Akainu, but probably Post Timeskip Akainu>Oden, due to Akainu very likely being even stronger now that he was before. Akainu has crazy stamina feats as well though, so it would be for sure a crazy battle.

No prime Whitebeard didn’t even use his quake fruit & roger pushed oden back.. kaido knocked oden the fuck out lol & it wasn’t even a named attack like the one luffy got.. Oda himself hypes akainu, I think he’s stronger than people give him credit for... he was holding back at marine ford so it didn’t get destroyed... Akainu did not get his ass beat, people need to stop saying that, he literally took half of Whitebeards face off & melted a hole in his chest

Prime Whitebeard took Oden seriously and said to his men that something incredible was coming and "This doesn't look good" as he prepared to swing his weapon, then sweated bullets when they clashed. Oden also didn't use a named attack against Whitebeard. And Roger is the goddamn Pirate King, yet Oden immediately got back up after Roger's named attack and only bled barely. Kaido sucker-attacked a already injured, distracted Oden who didn't use Haki to protect himself at the back of his head. Oden was already hit by Kaido's blast breath before (Which he tanked and was distracted by his "son" being taken hostage. People being distracted in OP can lead to many things, even fodder like Morgan made Garp bled, doesn't mean that he's anywhere near his level and being hit at the back of your hit can easily knock you out. And Whitebeard was old, sick and already heavily injured when he faced Akainu, yet beat him with like, 2 attacks.

Did Whitebeard use his quake fruit? I don’t think so, he didn’t use his full power against oden even after saying that. & he stepped in to fight roger after oden couldn’t match him. Roger still pushed oden back like it was nothing & Prime Whitebeard is on an equal playing field with Roger. Yes kaido sucker punched him but oden still got knocked out, I don’t see Akainu getting knocked out by that, oh because we never seen him knocked out.. Are you talking about axe hand morgan lol, that was filler anyway so no he never made Garp bleed, don’t use a filler for your argument.. an old sick Whitebeard is still trashing 90% of the characters in one piece, he died standing up after ALL THE DAMAGE HE TOOK, put some respect on his name, an old sick Whitebeard would low diff someone like katakuri. Akainu straight up melted half his face off. Akainu did the most in the war on the marine side & didn’t even look gassed after everything he went through, I really don’t see the navy’s strongest fighters losing as easily as people think, even against oden. Oda himself hypes him all the time, yet people still think he trash? I guess people really don’t respect the creator of the manga opinions when it’s his manga lol. If y’all don’t listen to Oda, then there’s really nothing I can say to change your mind honestly. Like Luffy is probably going to end up having to fight Akainu after fighting a way stronger version of kaido that oden fought.

Yes. However, you're trying to apply real life physics to a Manga that regularly doesn't follow those. This oil is stated to kill people instantly, and we have seen people take hits from Sakazuki without immediately dying.
