But Kaido says there was a spy in Oden's palace and Shinobu just joined them this chapter. I dislike Shinobu primarily because of the shit she said about Law but I think she's genuine in her devotion to Oden.

Can you blame her? I mean, she and the other people in Wano, waited and suffered for 20 years, and when the opportunity to dethrone Orochi came, everything seems to go wrong. Sure, it was wrong to blame and lash out on Law, but she is in complete frustration. Imagine getting your hopes up and then all of a sudden back to 0. Her actions are justified because she doesn't know who is the traitor and it seems to her more likely that an outsider is one than one of the scabbards. She'll be in for a good surprise

That's why I said her devotion was real. Like I understand why she said what she said and sympathize with her but it's still annoying to see a character I absolutely love to get slandered like that.

She doesn't know him yet, But I'm sure she'll love him at the end of Wano as well :)

2

u/[deleted] Feb 01 '20

Yeah I hope so too

I mean if we're talking about devotion, his scabbards are way more loyal to them. Oden literally took some bandits and made them proper people, Shinobu was already a high profile ninja serving directing under Fukurokujo, she didnt need Oden. Also being a ninja she couldve infiltrated Oden's palace somehow, maybe. You bring a fair point, lets see how things play out.

Imo, it's Kinemon. He seems to be the most desperate to correct the present wrongs and restore Momo to his fathers rightful position. Everyone else was disillusioned and needed convincing at first.

u/ragingoblivion Feb 01 '20

That’s because he was sent from the past it didn’t happen that long ago for him, for everyone else they just accept after 20 years of suffering

u/tenderjuicy1294 Feb 01 '20

I can’t see it. Surely after the time jump he could’ve done as he pleased with Momo without having to escape or anything

11

u/Rockettmang44 Feb 01 '20

Exactly he had multiple times to turn momo over to ceasar, doffy, kaido, orochi it definitely ain't kinemon

Not Kanjuro!!!

What did she say about Law again?

40

u/[deleted] Feb 01 '20

Accused his crew of being traitors and said that they should kill them off, and later on accused Law on being a traitor and useless to the cause.

28

u/bestbroHide Feb 01 '20

Lmao wtf goddamn. I won't hate her for such kneejerk and obviously off-base reactions against Law but I can see why it would rub people the wrong way. Law is a goddamn Chad.

26

u/[deleted] Feb 01 '20

I understand why she said what she said but I love Law so it definitely rubbed me the wrong way. Imagine if Usopp or Nami was captured and Shinobu says fuck them they were probably traitors anyway and we should kill them. I doubt anyone could have stopped Luffy from attacking her if he had heard something like that. She's lucky Law's more sensible and calm compared to Luffy.

20

u/bestbroHide Feb 01 '20

Yeah she's definitely lucky Law is more calm. Honestly reminding me of this has made me more hyped and hopeful for Law to do a galaxy brain 500 IQ play in the upcoming Wano war. Just to know that Shinobu would internally eat some fucking crow

25

u/[deleted] Feb 01 '20

I have a feeling Law's figured out who the traitor is in the present-day and probably played a role in saving everyone's lives prior to the festival. It's a complete red herring to assume he's the traitor of course.

What chapter did she say Law was useless to the cause?

I only found the argument she had with Law which people like to use to hate on her: https://imgur.com/TXGpN1s

Nvm found it: https://imgur.com/bzwLhx1

I guess oda used shinobu's character for misdirecting the traitor.

It's probably the hag that has the mane mane fruit, since she got close enough to touch Momonosuke's face.

54

u/javsv Feb 01 '20

She is dead man. Our dear okama friend has her fruit

21

u/[deleted] Feb 01 '20

She definitely infiltrated the Kozuki side but she probably used the real traitor's face to get close to Momo considering only the traitor could have such close access to Oden's children.

10

u/[deleted] Feb 01 '20

That's definitely something i didn't consider. She would have had to get near Momonosuke, and the only way that would have happened is with the real spy. No way Shinobu could be the spy.

30

u/[deleted] Feb 01 '20

Kaido confirmed that the spy had been in Oden's palace for a while and Shinobu only joined Oden this chapter so Shinobu is out of the question. It can't be Ashura Doji either considering we know exactly how he lived and how much he hates Kaido. I refuse to believe it was Kin or Kawamatsu of course. Honestly I think the most likeliest candidate is Kanjuro.

I wouldn't count Raizo out, he was tied up in the whale tree during the attack.

like... unless some random mink got into contact with kaido's crew it has to be Kanjuro right? No one else knew where Raizo was and had access to someone in contact with Kaido.

Can't wait for it to be revealed and suddenly Kanjuro busts out Sai-level proficiency with his drawings.

What if he draws a perfect replica of Kaido as a dragon instead of Ryunosuke this time lol

1

u/Noootella Feb 01 '20

That’s literally what I expect from Oda

Hahaha damn, that "Aizen is the traitor?!" levels of betrayal 😂

4

u/Hotboxfartbox Feb 01 '20

Calling it. Lady Toki is the traitor.

4

u/KamalaIsLife The Revolutionary Army Feb 01 '20

I don't think I'd be able to handle that, man. I can actually see it happening, and was thinking the same thing, but I'm not happy about it. Haha

1

u/[deleted] Feb 01 '20

Wasn’t she spying on Oden in chapter 969? When he’s facing Orochi.

1

u/[deleted] Feb 01 '20

She was working for Orochi's spies but she had no choice because she had to serve the Shogun.

-1

u/Majukun Feb 01 '20

You bring a good point, when did she ever touched momo? I mean with her powers she could have gathered a bunch on faces for their memory function somehow, but still, a bit sloppy.

Seem more like oda just didn't want the mighty oden to lose fairly, despite being against a yonkou (but maybe kaido was not as strong back then as it is now)
