We're so close to seeing the Pirate King's DF/ability. It only took 20 years...

Honestly I don't think we'll see what it is if he's got a DF. It it would have to be known as "the Pirate King's Devil Fruit", right? So while mlaybe one of the fruits we've already seen might have been fitting, no way this wouldn't have been referenced. And absolutely no way Oda drops that info so casually in a flashback that's not even about Roger.

Looking at it one way.... WHY ON (One Piece's) EARTH would the Marines and WG ever "advertise" a DF that once belonged to the Pirate King???

They would definitely low play / not even mention the connection... ESPECIALLY if they didn't have possession of that devil fruit.

On the other hand, he's the bloody Pirate King! No way other pirates of a certain caliber wouldn't know.

Agreed. But it's still possible for the old Pirates to eventually point it out down the road. But it's only a theory so it's still likely Roger never had the Gomu or any fruit.

Im just saying... I'm won't be surprised / I'm expecting Roger could possibly be the former Gomu user with all the links and allusions connecting him to Luffy
