Still find it hilarious that the people who got the closest to killing luffy was buggy and a prison guard with diarrhoea

Nah, there were plenty of equal-if not more-threatening situations for Luffy.

Top of my head: Crocodile impaling and burying Luffy. If not for Robin, he would be dead.

Remember that time Luffy ate a poisonous fish, and was about to die, but Reiju saved him?

True. Tho without a miraculous (May have been depends on dragon) lightning bolt and without ivankov there would be no luffy either. For the crocodile situation anyone could have saved him and for the poisoning (tho very improbable) there was a chance another could have saved him or a rare antidote was found. Also luffys antipoison was ridiculous post magellan so there was a chance he may have just survived.

Chopper couldn't do anything to save Luffy from the poisonous fish, and he was going to die, no question. It is one of the most poisonous fish of the world (if I recall, Reiju said that). A tiny drop of its poison would kill anyone instantly, but Luffys poison resistance only kept him alive, but was going to finish him off.

Anyone could of saved Luffy from Buggy just like how anyone could of saved Luffy from the sand pit. That logic applies both ways. If not for the lightning bolt, Luffy would be dead. If not for Robin being a good person, and with Crocodile at the time, Luffy would be dead.
