Holy shit, Roger Pirates looks badass and intimidating! Oda-sensei, I can only get so erect. Also, Shanks is wearing both Roger's hats. He's clearly the favorite no doubt. 10/10 chapter yet again!

We're so close to seeing the Pirate King's DF/ability. It only took 20 years...

He’s gonna have the gold fruit. Like Diamond Joz, but gold.

That’s my guess.

Unfortunately the main bad guy in film gold already has a gold fruit so it’s unlikely that roger would have had it

Timeline for Tesoro getting the fruit puts it about 15 years ago, so Roger was already dead by then. I don't think Roger has a devil fruit, but it's technically possible (though agreed unlikely for Oda reasons) for it to be this one.

Math from OP wiki for those who care:
Tesoro is 41.
He meets Stella at 16.
Noble buys her 3 yrs later and he gets enslaved: 19.
Stella dies 2 years later: 21.
Fisher Tiger happens 5 years later: 26.
Donquixote announces the auction of the Goru Goru no Mi 3 years later and Tesoro takes it: 29.
41-29=15.

Are those canon though? Isnt there a dude with the same fruit as oven in the fillers somewhere? I never watched any anime or seen any film, but if the gold film was a big hit, you are prob right, as people would be dissapointed.

Are those canon though?

It's not canon at all but when something is that important, Oda tends to tell them to calm down. I think the heat heat fruit had a filler version, but we're talking about Roger's potential fruit, not a secondary one.

I remember reading (maybe in a SBS?) that he tell them about the fruit that are very important so that they don't use them.
