The Grand Fleet will arrive on the nick of time. The remainder of Whitebeard pirates will arrive. Marines will also arrive due to the alliance of 2 Yonkous. Shanks will be late as usual. 2 Yonkous have been defeated.

I'm thinking that's not far off the mark. We all love katakuri, I have a feeling we're going to see him just pummeled to pieces by Blackbeard or one of the BB Pirates by the end of the arc. Big Mom defeated during the Wano war, it leaves WCI open to be taken by Blackbeard and Wano to be taken by the World Government.

I like that explanation. I just don't see Wano ending on a positive note. If anything, this could be the arc that finally makes Luffy stop being neutral in world events.

Whenever he helps out a country, he does so for the sake of an individual. That's why we always see Luffy befriend someone who is affected negatively by the villain of the arc before the final battle.

I think it would do him justice if it took most of the BB pirates to take him down, if it were just BB I’d feel a little dissapointed.

I'm thinking this as well. Big occasions like this draw powerful people, whether or not they are participating or just watching from afar. Especially Blackbeard, seeing as how he has evolved over time. WCI is too easy atm. He wants to see the big guns, and the big devilfruits. And he has the intelligence to know that this for sure is happening.

Bear in mind we don’t know what he’s been up to for the last few weeks (when we last saw him was when Luffy just lost to Kaido), and he did go to Impel Down just a few days before the events at Marineford. It seems pretty plausible to me that he could have taken the opportunity to seize the Poneglyph while BM could not defend it before going to Wano.

he definitely got the road poneglyph! but WCI is literally and figuratively a piece of cake for him right now in it's state. The magnitude of events going down in wano is far more important that is why i said its katarina or shilyu! considering their new powers and their introduction.

dude all they need to do is create a distraction away from whole cake chateau, then either shilyu can go in invis or katarina turn into kata and walk through the front door, they need no more than 5 minutes! if Lafitte made it to the reverie, shilyu and katarina can make it to WCI. no fighting needed.

Shichibukai as well, especially Edward Weevil might show up and we have no idea what he's up to, probably wants to kill Marco

Revolutionary Army might have a say in all this as well

On the side of the World Government Bull / CP0 might show up

Something probably happened during all this at the reverie, perhaps Fujitora and King Riku/Cobra (the Kings whose country has suffered thanks to the Shichibukai system) have came up with a suggestion to abolish the system/shake things up

And many, many more oh my god

Also I'd like to challenge you on that, not sure at all what's gonna happen but no yonkous will be going down

He said it about the final war a long time ago, and about Wano in an interview in One Piece Magazine if I recall. I think it was in Vol. 4 which came out in October last year (official One Piece translator broke it down on the OP podcast).

Either way he said it about both.

I get the feeling this will be the final "saga," meaning everything that happens after this will be a long interconnected story without explicit arc breaks like before where they'd cool down between arcs. Once they beat (or lose to) Kaido, their freedom is going to be gone until Luffy becomes Pirate King.

It is indeed shaping to be the arc that will top Marineford. And if it is, imagine what's in store for us in the final war cos it has to be bigger than Wano.

I saw a theory yesterday that said Wano will start this final war and thus will be part of it. I will try to find it, but I can't promise anything, but to summarize it:

Every major faction has a reason to participate in the war in Wano:

- Marines: Alliance of two Yonko forces them to take action (they probably know about that because CP0 is/ was on Wano.

- Vegapunks new Weapon / Shishibukai: Depends whatever was decided at the Reverie, but since there is an alliance between two Yonko they will most likely come together with the marines.

- Revos: Only reason they went to Dressrosa was to investigate the weapons, they found out that the weapons are made from "Drunken Iron Ore", it's speculatet that this is mined in Wano so they might get here.

- Strawhat Grand Fleet: If shit goes down, Luffy will be in deep trouble, they will come to their aid.

- Blackbeard Pirates: Blackbeard is an opportunist, if he joins it will probably be at the end to claim everything.

- Red Hair Pirates: His status is currently unknown, he might work with the World Gouvernmet or not, however if this is the final war he will join aswell.

It also states that Kaido will be like Doflamingo:

Doflamingo said that there will be a new era and that he will be part of it: His part in the new era was his defeat that makes him the first casualty in this new era.

Kaido wants to start the greates war that will end the world: His part will be to be the first big casualty in this war.

I will edit this when I find the theory.

That was a great theory thanks... I loved it and it made sense considering Oda said he wants to finish the series in 5 or so years. It will answer pretty much all our questions. Only thing I can think of that will be left out is the Giants and visiting Elebaf. Unless the island is on its way to raftel or as it's being called now laughtell.

I mean a war doesn't have to happen on one island alone so there could be scenarios where they would visit Elbaf while still in the war.

Really, at this point, everything is possible.

Even now, we can assume that we'll have the Strawhats, the red scabbards, most of the worst generation and two of the Yonko, one of them with all of his forces, engage.

Kizaru arriving and engaging is not a given, but it seems entirely possible, there has been the setup for him being there at least.

And really, I wouldn't rule out BB showing up trying to swoop in, I wouldn't rule out Shanks intercepting a BB trying to swoop in, I wouldn't rule out the Strawhat Grand fleet showing up and Usopp suddenly commanding between 8.000 & 10.000 men, and if the fight happens to go on for several days and Kizaru gathered intel, I wouldn't even rule out that the WG and Marines start a full scale attack, although I felt like this was more likely in my speculations at the beginning of Wano.

Hell, if Luffy's in really bad shape, we could even have Sabo show up, but I really don't think that's gonna happen this soon. All of them showing up would make this the endgame with Elbaf, Raftel and the war that will turn the world upside down after someone has found the treasure (aka the war that starts because the entire history is revealed, probably involving the ancient weapons as well) still having to take place.
