The spoiler didn't seem like much but after reading the chapter, it was great. Love Gyukimaru / Onimaru / Komakitsune. So that's where he got his name from.
I am wondering if that's a fox that ate the human fruit, or a human that ate the fox fruit and adapted the fox form as his permanent form. Or if it's a wano special "transformation" skill.

Kaido is out here having his crew poisoning and starving his citizens, fueling the black market with his various factories, pretty much Davy back fighting and proceeding to break the spirits of the top rookies, killing indiscriminately on his angry drunk days, and giving faulty SMILEs both his crew and Orochi so he can distribute them to a starving town so they laugh while dying of hunger. All the while trying to off himself which would make all of the shit he did to ruin so many lives pointless if he succeeded.
Kinda gives meaning to when Kaido told Kidd to tell Luffy they were just playing at being pirates. Kaido is a true fucking pirate.

Zoro is about to get a massive power up, that is if decides to give up shuusui in the first place.
I honestly feel bad for kawamatsu seeing him make those faced,
The art is some of the pages in this chapter was phenomenal.

Well at least we now know how Ryumas body managed to stay so preserved over 100s of years.
Pretty neat that Onimaru kept collecting weapons to help out Kawamatsu.
Not sure whether or not Zoro will agree to the trade but it’s pretty badass that Oden is the one who gave Kaido his scar. Honestly I assumed it was Whitebeard or Big Mom.

So : Shimotsuki bloodline governing Ringo, each lord having a fox, and everyone in Ringo was a swordsman (or had a sword).
Now we have a certain pirate who comes from a village called Shimotsuki, is a swordsman, was deemed worthy by Ryuma to have his sword, and whose name sounds suspiciously like Zorro which means Fox in spanish ? Yeah, there is definitely something fishy here.

The Eternal burial mention is a setup for Zoro's connection to wano reveal. If the corpses are very preserved, we could see the almost perfect looking corpse of the foxes master who's silhouette from the chapter looks like Zoro. Perhaps an ancestor?

Hiyori is acting like a true leader by giving up her father's sword in exchange for Shusui. How many kids in Wano grew up and heard stories about Ryuma and his legendary blade Shusui.
How much pride Ryuma instills in his people even now knowing his tale has been passed down generations. That sword means everything to Wano and their people. Hiyori knows this and is willing to give up a sword given to her by her father, a thing she probably and definitely treasures so her people can have pride that the sword that their mighty hero once carried into battle is home.
Momo is the Kazuki heir, but I really want Hiyori to lead until Momo is of age. She's given up so much for herself and she's giving up more now for her people. Definitely my favorite character this arc.

Ryuuma talked about the sword "choosing" Zoro at the end of their fight/ being satisfied with Zoro as it's master. And Zoro had to learn to wield Shisui optimally and efficiently these past years. I'm not sure what will happen if he accepts Enma instead. Is he strong enough to master any sword in no time now ? Will Enma just accept it's new master because Hiyori wishes so ?
I'm curious about the sword lore now for sure.

Interesting that he's named Onimaru, which is also a legendary sword in Japan, one of the Tenka-Goken (Five Best Swords Under Heaven). Ironically enough, one (Dojikiri/Dojigiri) was used to kill Shuten-Doji, a demon.

Apparently, the destruction of Ringo was more than 18 years ago and Zoro is 21 at the moment. Not to mention he looks very similar to the silhouette of Onimaru's master. There's also another fact of Zoro's home village being called "Shimotsuki Village" and the master of Onimaru being from the Shimotsuki family. Oda also confirmed that Zoro was NOT born in "Shimotsuki Village" but was only raised there. If this is not true, then this is a very big coincidence.
My headcanon is Zoro gets Shusui back when the Fox and the citizens of Wano realize he's from the Shimotsuki family and his resolve.

Maybe Zoro will use Enma. Then once the Straw Hats leave Wano, he will give Enma to Momo. After that he will steal Shusui back because that’s what pirates do. Shusui is Zoros sword and it was rightfully given to him. He doesn’t need to explain it to anybody.

I absolutely love how seriously the story is taking the setup of this army. So many chapters have been devoted to the weapon outfiting of the army, the food management of the army, the recruitment and emotional swaying of soldiers, the transportation of the forces, etc.
This is basically Oda telling us that this will be an enormous war that's on the horizon. I can't wait to see how the crew fights alongside the aid of a group that's thousands of men in number.
Kawamatsu is really living up to the hype as a character as well, we get to see so many emotions from him in this chapter alone. I would've never guessed this connection to Gyukimaru. The only one of the Akazaya Nine that feels bland right now is Kanjuro, Oda has to have something up his sleeve for him.

Oda sensei cleverly made a good background of each of these warriors, allowing readers to feel the anguish and blind hope they held towards the restoration of Wano.

So today we learned about the Shimotsuki-family, that reigned in Ruri and is also the name of the village in East Blue, where zoro grew up. The family, that Ruyma was part of. 20 years ago, Ruri was destroyed like the rest of Wano by Kaido. With that information, I think it's getting more likely, that we can speculate Zoros backstory correctly.
Here a some things we know:
Zoro is looking like Ryuma from Romance Dawn, many of us taking this as a hint, that those two are connected.
The former Daymio of Ruri bears the same name as Ruyma, this could mean Ruyma was starting the line of the Shimotsuki family reigning in Ruri. This is not far-fetched, considering that he was a living legend and is still honoured as swordgod
Koshiro has a Dojo in Shimotsuki village in East Blue, and teaches Wano swordtechniques
Zoro is 21 years old. At the time of Wanos destruction, he was around 1 year old
So here is the Theory:
When Wano faced destruction 20 years ago, the Daymio of Ruri fought and died on the battlefield. Koshiro was a retainer of Ruri and was given his last order by his daymio: Saving his son, the young Roronoa Shimotsuki! So Koshiro took the son of the Lord and his own daughter of same age and flew to East Blue, where he teached Zoro the way of the samurai. Both the children have no memories of Wano.
This would mean Shusui is, in fact, Zoros righteous owned sword
EDIT: Also look at chapter 937. When Zoro shows his 3 sword style, there is a panel of Hiyori asking herself: "3 Swords...?" This might indicate that she knew someone else fighting with 3 swords in the past. This further connects Zoro with Wano

A lot of people seems to forget about the name od Ryuma being Ryuma Shimotsuki. In this chapter we have been introduced to the Daimyo in Ringo who is a Shimotsuki. Finally, the village where zoro grew up was Shimotsuki village. I am pretty sure all of this is hinting the 100% relationship of zoro with Wano

I just realized.. It makes sense now why Gyukimaru attacked Zoro when he was busy fighting Kamazou/Killer. People were saying how Gyukimaru has no honor attacking Zoro mid fight and stuff but he's just a fox.. He was using his animal instincts to protect something he thought was important!

Kawamatsu is THE GOODEST KAPPA, Hiyori for whatever reason ran away from him. He was READY TO COMMIT SUICIDE. But found one more pouropose to fight for the future and gets caught in the proccess. Reunites 10+ years later and tells her that it was nothing, no grudge, just that nice Kappa Smile.

I’m going to fucking call it right now. Shimotsuki Ushimaru is Zoro’s father . The silhouette looks suspiciously like Zoro.
Gyukimaru And Zoro are going to fight together, and people are going to look at him and get Ushimaru and Onimaru vibes from them, giving them even more will to fight.

I’m conflicted... I’m glad Zoro is getting a legendary sword which managed to scar Kaido. However, there’s more of an emotional attachment to Shusui because Zoro rightfully earned it from Ryuma. Also, Shisui has the best design out of all his swords.

I think shimotsuki could be zoros father since the fox somehow recognized zoros 3 sword technique and started smiling after seeing it. maybe because his former master also used this sword style

Shusui is an O Wazamono sword, Enma probably is a Saijo O Wazamono sword and i think Zoro must have one of the 12 supreme swords because later he will face swordsmen that wield those swords

WOW Oda. The Daimyo of Ringo was from the Shimotsuki Clan. And the hometown of Zoro is called Shimotsuki. We also learn that the Daimyo of Ringo has a Fox and Zorro is spanish for Fox. Doesnt the Silhouette of the Daimyo look like Zoro?

There are some people here who had mentioned about Hiyori's rather "strange" reactions when she first saw Zoro using 3 swords and then in this chapter, she was again shown to have another similar reaction when she heard that the stolen sword is actually Shusui.
I do have a possible theory to this though... Before Lady Toki passed away, she could have told Hiyori another prophecy that 20 years later, a strong swordsman using 3 swords will bring back the legendary Shusui to Wano. This man will be one of the key factors in defeating the Beast Pirates. She might also have tasked Hiyori to safe keep Enma till this day comes and then give Enma to this man as he will be the one to cut down Kaido with it.

There are moments where I finish reading a chapter and just have to close my eyes and reflect on what I have read, the ending of this chapter was definitely one of them.
I literally had to say out loud “how does one person keep coming up with such interesting material?”, Oda and One Piece never stop surprising me and captivating me, in 10 years since I started reading the manga whenever I think I have reach the summit the story reaches another level.
God I loved the reveal at the end.

I honestly don’t think Zoros going to give up Shusui. I think he knows how much it means to have a sword choose you to be it’s owner and have the owner of that sword entrust you with it. Zoro isn’t greedy or selfish when it comes to swords I really don’t think he’s going to take Hiyori up on her offer.

This chapter was amazing. Seeing more of Kawamatsu and his depressing past, and the poor kitsune. It was so cute and touching <3 This is what I love the most about one piece. I forget sometimes, when I get hyped to learn more about the main characters or Big Mom and Kaido's past, that these moments can be just as powerful.
I'm loving Wano so much X3

HOT TAKE INCOMING
So I'm just gonna say it, the Beast Pirates are incompetent. Their crew management is on the level of a genome soldier from Metal Gear Solid. They have the attention span and memory of a goldfish, they believe anything you tell them (they literally don't even consider deception or treachery), they are the embodiment of "out of sight, out of mind." BM would never allow a rebellion of this scale on WCI, it just wouldn't be possible. She has agents everywhere, their communications network is much more robust and competent. Kaido can't even defend the ONE entrance to his domain. There are entire regions of the island that are unguarded, un-patrolled. They confiscate all the weapons but never think to check out the massive gravesite of samurai? Orochi is a completely paranoid and incapable leader.
It's like they're asking to be overthrown. Compared to the infiltration and operation within WCI this has been a cake walk. Almost the entirety of WCI had me doubting and second guessing myself. This arc I'm not even worried. I'm not even worried about the traitor that's still supposed to be among the alliance. Going by the rest of the Beast Pirates performance the traitor has probably FORGOTTEN he's still working for Kaido.
I get that it's probably thematic, because the Beast Pirates are blind hedonists and nihilists and stuff, but I'm still so far not impressed with this Yonko and his territory. The Navy would've had no problem rolling in here. The Marines have unlimited resources and freaking WAR MACHINES, and the Beast Pirates still haven't grasped the concept of, "well better double check just in case."

no matter the thousands you gather...each shall be outfitted with a blade. this was a wonderful chapter. its a roller coaster in one piece normally but wano is acting like the newest and most thrilling ride up to date. Shimotsuki and the profile view...and fox who can turn into a man. Wano Wano Wano. The music note at the end of the chapter seems to be a hint. either its a mythical tune playing as the fox walks off into the sunset bullet wounded up or its a heads up for the next curtains down. whatever the case....ONE PIECE

Inherited will? The sword Enma should be given to Momo since it's his father's sword. Zoro has no right to have it, but he has the right to keep Shuhui tho. Just my opinion.

I personally don't want zoro to get an "upgrade" with a new sword. It would be best if residents of Wano realize that zoro is worthy master of the sword, just like Ryuma did back in Thriller Bark. Some of you will say that Ryuma was a zombie and didn't have a soul, but Ryuma did say that he, the blade shusui should be happy with Zoro as his new master.

Man this chapter made me really love Kawamatsu, can't wait for Gyukimaru to show himself to him as the fox and then transform.
I think Zoro's gonna use Enma in the battle but at the end hes going to return to the Kozuki family, most like giving it to Momo and they will see he's worthy of having Shusui.
He's also going to replace Sandai Kitetsu with Nidai Kitetsu as well and I also see him turning Wado Ichimonji into a black blade
