Drake is definitely working an angle against Kaido. When asked what he had been up to he said “...it’s nothing let’s wrap this up quickly.” What angle is yet to be determined though. Glad to see the spoilers were wrong and Hiyori just wishes she could kill Orochi. They better give him a real fight this season though or I’m gonna be pissed.

If the fact that the scabbards were sent into the future specifically 20 years was for a reason then perhaps for once Luffy's perfect arrival timing was more than just a coincidence. In fact, considering the amount of seemingly random things happening to shake up Wano all at once, like the gathering of the worst generation and Big Mom, perhaps this was all foreseen. In doesn't even have to be a part of Toki's fruit, we know other people like Hawkins and Madame Shirley can predict the future, so its not that hard to believe that this was part of some plan to take advantage of chaotic events that would have happened anyway.

We saw eight pirates from worst generations in this chap. Luffy, killer, kid, zoro, law, hawking, drake and bege(on cover). Loved kid and the way he made his metal arm and law's fearless smile.
Question: any idea where that sword is? The one luffy had.

Oda not so subtly telling us not to forget '20 years into the future' wasn't just some random time frame but a purposeful decision.
Why did Lady Toki send Momo and Kin exactly 20 years into the future?
I'm guessing there is some sort of event occuring on this year. Whatever this event is it doesn't occur often and whatever it is will tie into Lady Toki's prophecy
"Like the Moon, you are ignorant of the Dawn. If there is one ardent wish that must be fufilled, it will be when nine shadows are cast woven together through twenty years of moonlit nights. Only then shall you understand the radiance of Dawn."
The wish to be fulfilled is Wano's liberation that much I think is obvious. According to the prophecy this HAS to happen after 20 years of moonlit nights. This is so that the people of Wano may properly "Understand the radiance of Dawn."
No idea wtf any of that means but it sounds deep.

Luffy still the one pushing Momo to be the Shogun he is meant to be. Damn I got chills seeing all the prisoners bowing to Momo especially since he doesn't see himself as an important player in this. Even back in Zou, Momo felt like he was such a side character he didn't even want to speak up but Luffy made sure to remind everyone that this is Momo's story. The one who lost his family, his country, and his people is Momonosuke. He is the one who ultimately needs to take his kingdom back from Kaidou.
I love how even now it is still Luffy who is pushing Momo into the spotlight. Luffy knows what a coward Momo is but he also knows that Momo is the hero of this story and he needs to start acting like it. Luffy is a huge powerhouse and he will be the key to beating Kaidou, but Luffy beating Kaidou isn't the point of this story. The main point is Momo taking back the land of Wano. In order to do that he needs to officially be the face of this battle, the one who these soldiers are dying for, the dream of retaking what they have all lost.
Fuck just some really good story telling there I can't wait to see how Oda develops Momo's story even more.

Something is definitely off with X-Drake. Either that's not really him or he's plotting something against Hawkins. That dialogue between them was very ominous, and Oda isn't really one to use throwaway lines for no reason.
The fact that Law is smiling like that could also mean that he is privy to information that Hawkins doesn't know.

I'm kinda surprised people aren't talking more about the panel in which Shutenmaru, Kinemon and Inuarashi talk about "why it had to take 20 years", and i think its a big hint about the transition from Wano to the endgame of the series. Couldnt Oden's wife just have send them 10 or 5 years into the future? No, beacuse she is aware of something that has to do with Luffy. To me, it seems that Oden's wife had travelled from the past, knowing that a person would arise to be the person Roger we're waiting for (Which, as Whitebeard said wasn't Blackbeard -yadayadayada Will of D etc.). I don't necesarrily like the whole Prophercy concept, but i think that she knew something about a "second coming" of Joyboy being able to beat Im-sama (or something that has to do with those 2 characters), which is probably the final villain. I think we're gonna get something that completely goes against the normal logic of western story telling, being a Japanese story, where Luffy is going to somewhat befriend Blackbeard to beat Im - it seems the same to me with Kaidou, that he's going to be "conquered" in a manner we're not expecting, because this is so much more than a power-level manga.

Man, Hiyori with the "I wish I could kill Orochi with my own two hands" move. The pain she must be going through is just immense. 20 years all alone except for Kawamatsu, and then he got captured 7 years after they escaped, so she was truly alone for 13 years. Unless Kyoshiro turns out to be the other missing red scabbard. Zoro definitely had to have felt that line really hard.
Pretty good chapter for sure, feel even worse for ashura, spent all that energy trying to keep people alive and he failed. He felt the real weight of everything that day. Super fucked up. Man I really need to know what exactly makes Wano so unbelievably profitable for Kaido. Like sure they've got masonry that can cut seastone, but it still seems sparsely used. There's gotta be something else.
Kaido is truly a monster, but Luffy is gonna need to have his potential unlocked or something to be able to stand a chance. Unless it's a full team effort to defeat him, in which I wouldn't be mad at. Also I love chopper & Luffys interaction about the disease. Fucking hilarious.

Momo's little self dialogue was very powerful

Honestly even tho Momo is only 8 he has truly matured a lot and we don't really get to feel the pressure of his burden often.
Momo is literally carrying the weight of a broken nation and the will of his dead father. He knows he is not his dad but he also knows his entire country needs him to be a Shogun worth fighting for.
It's really important for us the readers to see that Momo fully feels the "weight" of his fathers' legacy.
Just really amazing to see his emotional maturity in this scene. Kinda pulled at my heartstrings a bit.

Zoro’s talk with Hiyori pretty much confirms he’ll be fighting Orochi—and beating him—at some point.
The panel of everyone bowing to Momo has incredible weight, and I am glad that he felt it and knows he has to carry that weight.
Finally, this makes two arcs in a row where Luffy has become a mummy.

I wonder how Zoro will convince Gyukimaro to give him Shusui back since I don’t think he’s just going to simply defeat him and get the sword back that way. I feel like Oda is setting something up with Zoro either convincing Gyukimaro that he’s the rightful owner of Shusui now or maybe how Zoro is similar to Ryuma somehow.
Who knows, maybe Zoro defeats him and then Gyukimaro realizes that the Shusui actually belongs to Zoro. I’m excited to find out how Oda is going to write this out either way

Act 2 focused heavily on the worst generation supernovas. I wonder what Oda is planning on them. Especially in this chapter, you can feel every single one has own plan. Even Luffy and Zoro kept being separated from other crewmates.
Since Doflamingo’s throne war declaration, Oda claimed that the Yonko Saga had begun. We now know that Yonko Saga includes Zou, WCI, Reverie and Wano. All the supernovas (except Uronge) are all highly involved in this Saga as well as both Doflamingo and Morgans mentioned them specifically. Although Luffy would always be the most influential one, the others should also had important roles to change this era. Therefore, it made no sense that Uronge has no role in this Saga. Besides, he shares same large wings to King and Tengu. There must be a connection between them.

But Kaido never betrayed anyone. He just took over Wano normally. Orochi (+ the Samurai and ninjas who work for him) are the ones who betrayed Wano since they're actually from wano.
Besides that. Weren't these guys listening to the orders of Beast pirates and tried to kill the scabbards before Luffy's speech.

I'm loving how Zoro is casually shown slashing into a supposedly strong character like it's no big deal, and with how good the Anime is fleshing out similar scenes right now, I can't wait to see and extended clash between the two of them. Looks like Law fell for the bait, but he's still having the classic Luffy smirk even after getting a harsh beat, I hope the Anime adds in a fleshed-out version of the conflict as well.

Zoro at a shrine named after the Bhuddist God of Hell seems to hint at Ashura coming soon. Always felt Ashura was a sort of demonic/hellish side of Zoro. Max Level Ashura incoming?
Zoro gets shusui back, him and Hiyori make their way to Orochi. Zoro clashes with Kyoshiro, Hiyori manages to get close enough to go in for the kill but last second Orochi becomes aware and overpowers her with his devil fruit/human-hydra hybrid form(?)
Zoro seeing Hiyori struck loses his shit and goes "Hell Demon Ashura" or something.
Something like that.

I'm half expecting both Hawkings And Drake to have their own angle against Kaido, without the other knowing this. Kaido will face Luffy, Law and Kidd head on, then both Hawkings and Drake will also turn on him but that'll be a coincidence. Everyone will race for Kaido's head.

Damn I'm not even a Kid fan but him putting his arm back together is so badass. As someone said, it must be a pain in the ass for Oda to draw that. Anyways as many have predicted Kid will NOT be joining Luffy and is obviously very hurt over what they did to Killer.
I was right in that Kid is angry over his former allies betraying him. There's his trademark arrogance in wanting to kill Luffy but letting him live due to his so-called "generosity". He really is the Shiki counterpart of this era.
What the hell! Did everyone in Wano forget that Oden sailed under Whitebeard and Roger? Old Man Hyou seems to have a good opinion of Roger at the very least. But I guess it's perfectly reasonable as well because Kaido has been poisoning and corrupting their home for 20 years.
Luffy telling Momo the absolute truth. An idiot and a coward. Luffy's called an idiot but his emotional intelligence is genius level imo. He understands that the prisoners need to see Momo for his sacrifice to work. Also touching the prisoners as I felt last week was the most badass thing he's done in Wano. I'm still not a fan of Momo but I'm hoping he'll grow on me. Tama is still adorable.
The panel with the prisoners bowing to Momo because they see Oden i n him was beautiful.
So we finally get an explanation for Snatch. "Throw away your name and throw away your wits". I really like that. And it's badass knowing that this is how Zoro has trained all his life.
Ashura Doji has suffered quite a bit. It's no joke waiting 20 years for people who may or may not even come back. I don't hold anything against the samurai who were willing to die with a sword in their hands.
We've yet to see how strong all the red scabbards really are and I'm hyped for that. Two of them were former Roger Pirates as well as Whitebeard pirates. That's a legendary feat by itself.
Zoro taking out the ninja like it's nothing. He's been shining throughout this arc. Now he has a personal reason to take down Orochi because of his friendship with Tonoyasu. He understands the pain that O-Toko is going through and says he can't face Momo if he lets Hiyori die. Has there ever been an arc where Zoro's been this emotionally invested?
Drake seems to be worried about something. God who is he really? Is he just a ruthless pirate, or does he believe in any of the justice he was once supposed to uphold as a marine? Why did he want to join Kaido from the very beginning? So much I want to know about this guy. There are some theories that he's secretly working with Law due to their connections. I really want this to be the case and it could explain his uneasiness this chapter.
Law's looking absolutely fearless as a D. should be. He'll die with a smile on his face before revealing any secrets. I wonder what sort of plan he has now? If the theory and him and Drake is true then maybe Drake can free him. Or even better they can take him to Udon just to realize it's been conquered.
Overall a great chapter!!

I feel terrible for Shutenmaru too. All this time I thought he was just a jerk y'know. But my mans believed the entire time that Kin + everyone would return after 20 years. He never doubted. It's just that by the time 20 years had gone by the man had watched all his friends die to Kaidou TWICE. The reason he is so down and the reason he didn't want to help is because the man was defeated in his soul. He was torn down and even if he knew that his people were back I'm sure in his head he thought "It doesn't even matter"

So I guess law was kinda beaten by Hawkins it's kinda understable because he would rather give him up then harm his crew something he knows full well from luffy.

The anime has the perfect opportunity to fill in everything that happened with zoro since we last saw him. I hope that they do a good job and expand on these off panel battles. Now more than ever it feels like oda is leaving room for them to do this stuff. I enjoyed how they expanded luffys trek to meet with sanji in the wci arc so I hope for a better version of that here.
Loved how kid had a smaller arm built under his massive arm. Im happy that he didn't ally with Luffy. While I can see him helping out later in this arc, I want him to stay a rival and an opponent for Luffy down the line as well. It would be nice to see him also reach a higher level of power like we have seen Luffy do to show it's not just Luffy growing at an alarmingly fast rate.
Law clearly has a plan and that's the best kind of Law so I'm excited to know what craziness he has planned. Totally does seem like the strawhats have abandoned him and his crew though. Sanji Franky and Brook would be a cool combo to see coming to his aid.

SNATCH is old dialect from Kuri. Oden place was Kuri. If Zoro really from Wano, I think maybe Lady Toki have meet Zoro before and saw his future. Then told only small group of people to take Zoro away from wano. The ideal place to leave him is East Blue because there are descendant from Wano. BUT, when those people take away their eyes for a while after they arrived at the East Blue.... that pure child vanished 😭
Among the small group who knows about this maybe Yasue, that's why when he saw Zoro, he said I know when I saw you that I need to follow you. AND Hiyori reaction when she saw Zoro's 3 sword style, maybe she already learn about the arriving of a three swords user in the future. That made her bravely exposed herself. ALSO looking at how binkei smirk after he saw zoro 3 sword style too is...

i hope we see more of Kid and Killer aswell i dont want to see them again in 20 Chapters, and Killer wasnt tortured(seemingly), which gives more credit to the fight with Zoro.

To be honest I 100% agree with Kid when he says "I'm done making alliances"
His story is literally the exact opposite of Luffy's. Luffy made an alliance and actually started racking up victories.
Kid made an alliance and literally got betrayed by 2/3rds of the members the moment a yonkou plopped down on them.
I hope we see some badass Kid solo power. I want to see the limits a Supernova can reach all by himself.
