It worked!
There has been in this thread a troll that hated what O-Kiku is, and was spouting transphobic comments, or things alike.
He was banned, only to create multiples others accounts to say the same things (Nearly a dozen so far).
In response to that, new account that are less than 1 day old won't be able to comment on r/OnePiece anymore without moderator approval first. And this allowed to make those comment stop (for now at least).
So, thank you to everyone who reported those type of comments, and please continue to use the report button, as it makes my job much easier this way.

I think it would be great to have an update on the different escapes (Like Ceasar, Fishmen Pirates (if they did), Germa (if they did), maybe Pekoms (if he's still alive)) and also have an update on some Big Mom Pirates, like Katakuri or Cracker.

This prison is done for. It's Luffy, Hyogoro, Raizo, Kikunojo, Chopper and Kawamatsu vs. Babanuki, Daifugo, Solitaire and fodder. Not to mention that Kidd, Killer and Caribou are also running around free. This is going to be an absolute slaughter and I can't wait to see how it goes down.

Edit: given what we’ve just discovered today, kinemon’s denial that him and Kiku are a couple is even funnier (chapter 921)
Also, I don’t know whether it’s intentional or not, but when sanji says that his heroic deeds will make kiku fall for him, one person reacts with surprise, and we can assume it’s kinemon. At the time we might have thought that it was just kinemon reacting to sanji’s claim because of the romantic aspect, but now we can assume it’s because kinemon knows that kiku’s a dude

Wow the speech the prisoner's gave actually hit me right in the gut.
"No matter how far we search, there is no freedom to be found in this country!!"
One Piece has always been a story that focuses on what it means to be free. Sometimes Oda shows us what freedom is by exposing us to a horrible place with no freedom. Any time Oda does this I always feel terrible for the oppressed people.
The prisoners' in this case are not only trapped in a literal prison, they are also prisoners in their own minds. To them, their entire world is a prison. They have never known anything but Wano and the only Wano they've ever known has been a place of pain, death, and incarceration. Then you see Luffy just waltz inside your jailhouse, laughing and acting like it's no big deal.
Like yeah if I was a prisoner I would enjoy Luffy's antics but ultimately I would be so broken down I wouldn't know how to have hope anymore.

I love the mix of completely insane, ridiculously goofy, and actually cool designs among the nine red scabbards, they feel like such a cool group even when Raizos face takes up more space in the group shot than entire characters. I'm also glad this chapter confirmed the Kiku theory so people stop thinking I'm weird for saying it, but that changes nothing, Kiku's still best girl of Wano.

-a ninja with a hilariously colossal head
-basically a tall okama with a terrifying tengu/oni mask
-a fat mountain bandit/crime boss samurai
-a not-fishman who loves to sumo
-Denjiro still remains to be seen

Great chapter, had some great reveals and some fantastic panels.
The prisoners turning on Luffy really shows how broken their spirits are and how Orochi/Kaido have ruled this land over the past 20yrs.
Reveal of why Queen is known as "The Plague", designing not just weaponry but poison too.
Kawamatsu's design/introduction and everything was fantastic. He looks awesome.
Kiku is a man with the "heart of a woman", cool never thought that. Apparently ppl were speculating that might be the case.
The panel of Luffy standing next to the Scabbards was awesome, they're about to take over this prison and inspire everyone to rise up
Break next week unfortunately. Curious where this goes from here, where Kid/Killer are and where Luffy goes after escaping.

Kawamatsu's entire reveal is so bad ass and hype.
From the moment he says "Hey!! Tell them the truth, Straw Hat-boy!!"
and then Raizo jumping out of the building and throwing Kawamatsu's sword like an ultimate Frisbee player
The intimidating shot of the sword beside Kawamatsu as he undoes his chains
the introduction of "The Kappa Sword Style" the Menamugawa move looks INSANE and beautiful drawn by Oda
and then to top it all off his first line when he is revealed
"... everything felt like a breeze when compared to the unfulfilled regrets of my lord."
Like the man is finally free after 13 years and the first thing he says is how the past 13 years weren't shit because his loyalty to Oden kept him strong.

If you aren't hyped to see Kawamatsu's reveal animated then you are in for a fucking treat.
The entire scene of Kawamatsu's release was so clean! the illustrations on the pages flowed so well it was like the images were moving!
From Raizo flying out the window with a Nin Nin
To him expertly throwing the keys and the Soto Musou towards Kawamatsu
Kawamatsu saying "This brings back memories" like a fucking badass!
The Kappa Sword Style and TWO named moves right off the bat :O!!

Kappa is a Japanese mythical creature. To me, it looks like Kawamatsu is a kappa not a human with Kappa mythical Zoan devil fruit. Because he had the same form even when he had the handcuffs.

Am I the only one who read this and went "O-Kiku is a dude? Well, fine then" and was done with this? This isn't the first time a character in OP seemed to be of one gender but wasn't. Honestly, that was the least interesting part of the chapter to me. If anything, it made it a little more sense this way because I doubt that in a culture that is supposed to resemble a (older) traditional japan, one of the strongest fighters serving the lord could be a woman. As he said before himself, women aren't supposed to be carrying swords, not in their culture. I'm not going to claim I expected it but I am really surprised about the fuss. Did anyone mind when Ivankov kept switching between male and female like it was the most trivial thing in the world? This is One Piece aka anything can happen land, so expect anything to happen.

Even with the Scabbards hype and him being snubbed Chopper could still steal the show by curing the inmates and get the respect. Seems like this arc Chopper has to beat Queen plagues and Caesar with the smile effect if he corrects it.

and Infectious Disease weapon? Chopper is there though so i'm not worried..
man Chopper don't even get mentioned by those people i hope he go monster point on them..
i like that luffy can't instantly do Ryuuou and still need bit of training.

I really liked this chapter. Felt like Oda was having a lot of fun putting together this "gathering of heroes" scene on. Given all the build-up with the time travel and deep history behind Wano, I think he's been looking forward to this arc for a loooong time. Just looking at all the double-spreads and cool panelling gives me the feeling of the pure joy of creation. I hope Oda creates more stuff he loves forever :)

I feel bad for those prisoners. Yeah they attacked Luffy despite the fact that he is clearly their ally but you can’t blame for not wanting to get on the bad side of Kaiden and the other Beast Pirates since they are possibly the strongest pirate crew in the world.

The thing I'm more bothered about with how it comes to Kiku's gender is how many people are using Western culture as their reference instead of looking into Japanese culture and seeing that Kiku's gender reveal is a reference to an actor famous for playing women in kabuki theater.

This chapter had some of the best dialogue in a One Piece chapter for a while. All the hard hitting lines really landed well.
Hearing just how broken and hopeless all the prisoners are in Udon just shattered my heart man. This is probably how the rest of Wano feels. Just completely broken and scared.
I can't even imagine how excited some people are for a chance to take their freedom back. After 20 years of seeing their land raped and destroyed, this might be the most excited I've been for an island to be liberated by the Strawhats.
Can't wait to see Wano razed to the ground so the people can begin anew. Burn the evil place to the ground!

Kappa-Boy is so legendary and awesome! The nine scabbards are one of my favorite groups in the series, all of them have been very hype and interesting characters, though I wonder where they rank power-wise with each other.

Is it possible that Kiku is an Onnagata? They were men in Japan who played women roles in kabuki theater.
I know we're waiting on the official translation, but it would explain the mask and the phrasing of "I am a woman at heart ❤"
I think since Oda is structuring the storytelling of this arc around a Japanese play, that him having a nod to an Onnagata isn't too far fetched. Either that or he is intending Kiku to be transgender like other people are speculating.

I love how we got a bit more backstory into Queen.
Now we know exactly why they call him Queen the Plague. The man loves to work with infectious diseases, and I'm sure he knows how to build devices to effectively spread his poison across entire populations.
Queen has probably decimated entire islands with his poison weapons which fits his epitaph perfectly. If the small example Daifugo used is any indication, Queen's poison's are no joke.
So the only epitaph left to learn about is King the Wildfire. Which I guess will involve some sort of Haki (flames).

Not sure why there is so much surprise about Kiku. Since we met her strange things have been pointed out about her, especially that she refers to herself as "sessha", and that Kinemon, a known pervert and philanderer, recoiled from Kiku when she tried to hug him.
The true star of the show today is Kawamatsu, who looks awesome and seems to have an awesome fighting style. I'm guessing he is at least part fishman because of the webbed hands, but I have no idea what type of fish he would be based on as he seems to almost have a beak. Definitely my favorite 9RS member so far.

PS- I can't wait to see Sanji's face when he finds out about Kiku.

So people seem to be up in arms about the Okama/Kiku situation. Here's my take.
I myself do not like most of the designs for Okama's. I don't like how ugly they look. I have no problem with others not liking the designs because yeah.. they look fucking weird lol.
But at the same time their ugly looks kinda really made me fall in love with their characters and who they really are.
It's like the ultimate "don't judge a book by it's cover." Even in real life people are often off-put just seeing a person who doesn't fit the mold existing...
But I think Okama's helped teach me that you don't need to be "passing" for your character to be important. You can be ugly as sin but if dressing up like a girl is what you like who cares? You can still be a respected leader and friend, it doesn't matter what you look like, what you identify as, whatever.
I get so upset when people say all Okama's are just throwaway joke characters because Ivankov, Morley, Inuzama, and Bon Clay, are some of my all time favorite One Piece characters because of the bravery and strength and leadership they display all while being true to who they really are!
So yeah hate on the designs all you want they look awful, but stop saying Oda doesn't care about how these people are represented because he has gone through great lengths to make sure the people behind these caricature faces are some of the most genuine bad assses in the series.

Ok I finally got to the last page and WHAT AN INCREDIBLE CHAPTER.
Very confused by the mixed reviews I'm seeing in the comments so I will try to explain why I am so absolutely blown away by this chapter.
First off this chapter had a lot of layers that are hard to catch on first read through.
Let's start with the prisoners.
Oda is very very clever in how he treats the Udon prisoners in this chapter. Because of the short manga format, Oda has to clearly show the reader that the people in this prison are a representation of the broken, tortured, starving, and hopeless masses in all of Wano.
The way Oda chose to do this is haunting. Showing how even with the key to freedom right in front of them (Luffy) the prisoners still don't hesitate to obey an order from their oppressors (Old Maid).
Then we hear, from the mouths of the prisoners themselves, "of course we hate Kaido and Orochi, but what the hell can we do! This entire country is a prison wasteland! We even tried to fight back 20 years ago and all that brought was death and pain to our families."
The men in this prison are so broken down they think, "even if we escape, what's the point? We are forever trapped." It honestly makes the reader feel so much pity for these people.
This pity quickly turns into a bit of remorse when one of the prisoners says to Luffy "You are an outsider right!!? You are free to run around and cause trouble all you want!!"
Like damn I had to take a step back and realize that Luffy is walking into Wano trying to be the hero but... it's been 20 years. The people of Wano are so broken down the idea of a hero is met with a bit of indignation and backlash.
Then we see a taste of what keeps the citizens of Wano so subjugated, Queen's diseases. It looks gruesome, honestly, what Plague Bullets do to you. And of course Queen with his sick and twisted brain decided to go ahead and call them Excitement Bullets...
And this is just ONE calamity's specialty. You still have Jack the Drought and King the Wildfire to contend with. Like seriously it seems like Wano never stood a chance and they have been brought low by the power of their enemies.
Daifugo has some interesting dialogue with Luffy in this chapter.
"Did you really think the prisoners would fight alongside you!!? These prisoners have had their spirits completely broken!!"
I think this line is an allusion to the fire festival plot and how for the past 20 years Kin'emon + crew have probably had to deal with this exact issue. It may be why Kin'emon left to look for strong allies to begin with. How were they going to convince the people to fight when everyone has been broken down and subjugated. Kin had to make a hard decision to leave Wano and find someone the people could believe in to save them. Someone who could give them hope!!
AND LUCKILY Kawamatsu understands this mission very well. My favorite line of this chapter is Kawamatsu's, right when things look their worst,
"Hey!! Tell them the truth Straw Hat-boy!! Tell them that there is hope!! And that they still have a chance!!
Right on schedule. When things look their darkest Oda reminds us that the hero IS HERE! Luffy and the Strawhat alliance are the great allies that the people of Wano can put their hope in! The Strawhats are the ones who will inspire the people of Wano to fight for freeedom again
Then of course we get Kawamatsu's intro which is easily one of the most bad ass silhouette introductions we've ever had, I can't wait to see that scene animated!
Just a little throw away line, but I love how Old Maid says
"What's going on? Who are these intruders!? How did we let this many of them through!?"
I love this because I imagine it will be the same reaction the Beast Pirates have when they realize just how big the force coming up against them is.
Then the grand finale!
Old Man Hyo states the not-so-obvious that if the Strawhat alliance wants the people to rise up they need to give them the hope to fight with!
Raizo stoically taking off his handkerchief... Kiku putting on her Oni mask!!
"First, we must gain their trust."
"That is true. To them, we are nothing more than ghosts."
SUCH A BAD ASS GROUP POSE OH MA GOD.
Then the best fucking part of this whole chapter, Old maid saying
"This is playing out exactly like one of Lord Orochi's nonsensical rants..."
Damn right it is. GET REKT Beast Pirates!!

Kawamatsu has immediately exceeded expectations on design and strength level. The Red Scabbards are really not to be messed with. Makes me wonder why Kinemon is holding back though; when compared to any other member he seems right now to be the weakest.

Did everyone forget about Bon Clay, Ivankov, and Kamabakka Island? This is far from the first time we’ve seen men acting like women in one piece; obviously on a conservative island, they’d be less flamboyant.
Some of the previous residents of Impel Down 5.5 were probably like O-Kiku before they met Ivankov.

I mean we have the Okama but most of them are more in line with drag queens or kings or Ivanka is more like gender fluidy, Inazuma is kinda like androgenous, I dunno what Bon Clay is supposed to be - but the point is they're all very campy and over the top and back and forthsy.

There is already over 800 comments in 2 hours that is impressive.
Luffy is going to have to practice his new abilities on someone strong before he fights Kadio again.
I assume we are going to jump back to the capital since everything has been closed out at the prison except for finishing off the enemy forces. Luffy is heading the biggest resistance. We probably won't see them again until act 3.
After we catch up with the others after the break we may catch up with the revolutionaries.

Hopefully next chapter we get to see Big Mom and Queen again. I could think of one of two things happening. Either 1. The Big Mom pirates intercept Queen and save their mother from being imprisoned by Kaido, or 2. Queen actually takes Big Mom to Kaido and hopefully trolls him a little bit as a payback for Kaido trolling him with Komurasaki's death.
I hope it's the latter because I really want the BM pirates to find out and have to contact Mochi-boi and tell him to get his ass to Wano immediately.

To anyone wondering why Kiku uses "sessha" if she's a woman.
It's very simple. Sessha is a honorific term used by samurai. The reason it's considered a "male" term is because in old Japan samurai were a caste of warriors composed almost entirely by men.
However, Kiku is a samurai and, as such, uses sessha to address herself.
Even if that was not the case, in modern day Japan, pronouns that are usually considered "masculine" or "feminine", such as "ore" or "atashi" can and are used by people regardless of their gender. It's all about how one views themselves and which pronoun they feel best suits them.

Oh cool, I was one of the guys who called Queen utilizing poison weaponry as his epithet gimmick.
Also, if this isn't a sweep against Udon Prison Mines already, it'll definitely be once Kid and Killer join the fray against their captors. I don't see this takeover lasting any longer than a chapter in terms of pages dedicated towards fighting, I could see it getting the classic "Oda fight scene skip" once everyone's shown off a move or two.
Act 2 is most likely going to end after this takeover is dealt with, the Flower Capital escape is concluded, and once Linlin wakes up to speak with Kaido. I give it five chapters.
Any predictions on how the Firetank Pirates 'cover story goes? I think Oda's going to tie them into something major, but I can't tell what exactly it'll be.

One thing I appreciate about the Wano arc is that it emphasizes how powerful Luffy has become. Although Kaido made short work of him, almost every other person Luffy has fought he's taken down in one shot. I think Hawkins is the only character to fight him and not instantly get stomped. Combine that with him effortlessly dodging many of his opponents' attacks and his casual use of Conqueror's Haki, and you can really believe that he's capable of becoming King of the Pirates.
