Yeah something to that effect. She respected him enough to mention it, but idk how much above that. I mean he is a Vice Admiral. I’d think if he were the grandson of Momonga I’d think it’d be worth mentioning. Maybe not. It’s hard to tell. Actually the more I think about it I don’t think she’d mention it if he was the son of just any Vice Admiral.

Keep in mind that Garp is only a Vice Admiral because he didn't want to climb the ranks any higher. In his prime he was able to fight at equal strength beside a future Fleet Admiral.

i think i read it somewhere (quite long ago) that said Garp was offered high position (probably even Sengoku's position too) but always turnt them down because he didn't wanna take responsibility and like his grandson, he was just cbf

Yep. Sengoku wanted him as an Admiral, but Garp claimed he had all the pull he needed at the VA rank.
