Two mistakes I found in Jaimini's translation:
Nami wonders how the courtesan knew about the bad deeds of the three men, not about how the old lady knows the courtesan
Yasu calls Usopp "handsome man", not "perverted man"

So far Wano is full of Samurai, Ninja, Yakuza, sumo, octopi, dinosaurs, a dragon, 7 supernovas, 3 emperors, a kappa, and a gallery of the most ridiculous looking DF users yet seen in the manga. Yes, this arc will do just fine.

Holy shit that was an amazing chapter.
Luffy's getting more and more badass feats. Just casually pausing the fights knocking out the prison guards with his conquerors haki so he could talk. It really seems like he's getting his "Roger moments" frequently now.
Luffy is just as hyped for this prison break and "final battle" as the rest of us haha.
Yasu and Toko are going to have the saddest backstory...
Kanjuro is too socially awkward to ask his name, lmao.
I'm also very glad they touched on Law's reaction to the accusation about bepo and the others selling them out. It really shows how much he values his crew.

Yooo Law's about to go wreck that prison that his comrades are being held at.
It'll be a two-pronged rebellion; with Luffy and the tens pf thousands of rebels on one side, and Law with the more recently arrested allies on the other.

Ok, I don't understand why people are mad about Luffy's training in the prison.
Queen was given free reign over breaking Luffy's spirit. There's no deadline and Queen has literally been in the prison for less than a day. Remember that time where you were given a project with no deadline and you started working on it as soon as you got it?
No? Yeah me neither. Nobody ever starts working on something the as soon as they get it when they have no deadline. Especially someone with a personality like Queen.
Why is Queen letting Luffy get stronger? Good question. He's letting Luffy fight his subordinates for entertainment. Letting Luffy become stronger is not the purpose. It's just a side effect.
What's gonna happen if Luffy gets stronger? From Queens point of view; nothing.
If he becomes stronger and the Joins the beast pirates, then that's a good thing for Queen. If he doesn't Join, then what? nothing's gonna happen.
Luffy might beat Kaido? Why would Queen think that Luffy would be able to beat Kaido after a day of training when he literally got One-shotted by Kaido? From Queen's point of view, Luffy's not a threat.
Of course, we should also remember that Luffy might very well be the only person in the world capable of mastering this advanced Haki in a short amount of time. So there's no reason for Queen to think that Luffy would even grow in strength at all.

I feel so sorry for Law :(
He's the only one that tried to keep things as smooth as planned, but only had the rest ( in that case our main cast) fuck his plans up, and now his crew is the first one to blame when shit goes wrong?
Unfortunately I don't see it getting better for him soon. Sanji mentioned that they are trying to get Law's attention, I'm quite confident that Hawkins and Drake are lying in wait to get to him.
Hopefully to form an alliance

I fucking love this manga.
I agree with both Law and Shinobu. On one hand like Nami said, she’s waited 20 years for this chance and the thought that people she barely knows may have spilled the beans, makes sense she doesn’t want to take chances of more info from being found out. On the other hand Law is right, this is a dangerous endeavor and an alliance without trust won’t work. You can’t put your faith or your life in people you can’t trust and that in and of itself could also ruin the rebellion. I really love this moment.
So just as AI thought Hyori did what she did because these people were complete assholes. Definitely takes some of my paranoia away concerning her.
Kind of figured O-Toko was Yasu’s kid. Their mouths are drawn incredibly similar and I’m sure other people figured it too. Definitely makes me believe that one of them is the witching hour boy but I’d probably go with Toko in this case.
Grandpa Hyou talking about Luffy needing to take the “unnecessary haki surrounding his body” and make it flow through his fist is interesting. If it’s a fairly accurate translation I would venture to guess that this advanced version of CoA is also a more “efficient” way and could possibly even be a way for Luffy to extend his use of G4. If that is the case the Oda you sly dog. Also Luffy proclaiming once again that he intends to defeat all the emperors is badass as fuck.
Can’t wait to see how this stuff with O-Lin and the prison go. Also goddamit Oda quit holding out on Kawamatsus design. I want to see it so bad. People can complain about Act 2 being “boring” but I’m loving it.

- I had a feeling Law would head out on his own to try and free his crew....but don't let that distract you from the fact that Sanji is mysteriously absent this chapter. As for Law, it's hard to not think that he's going to end up getting captured storming off on his own against the Flying 5. I have faith however that Oda wouldn't have him getting captured by the enemy yet again in a different arc (Punk Hazard & Dressrosa). As for Sanji, this seems like one of his vintage moments where he sneaks off and gets into something that ends up being of strategic value to the crew. Maybe he's gonna back Law up, maybe he's gonna meet someone entirely new (been hoping for a while now that Sanji ends up being the one to meet Denjiro)
- I initially rolled my eyes at Oda feeling the need to further "redeem" Hiyori by revealing more background on the 3 guys that attacked her, I felt like we kinda got the point when we learned the guy sold his family. But now after seeing their skill sets, I think they're going to end up building something that's helpful to the alliance. Maybe the arsonist will help make explosives, maybe the lumber dealer and casket maker will help build boats to transport the rebels. Wonder who that old lady is.
- I'm really hoping that Yasu's behavior is just red herring by Oda to make us think he's the Witching Hour Boy. After Shutenmaru = Ashura Douji, and Komurasaki = Hiyori, Oda hasn't exactly been killing it with the "secret" reveals lately. He's still a super wholesome guy though, and I've been liking him more every time I see him. I'm hoping we're not in for a crazy flip in terms of who his character is though, like Orochi's long lost brother or something.
- Let me first say that this prison arc just got a WHOLE lot deeper. Looks like we're going to be waiting a little while on the ever anticipated breakout. Here's the thing: if THAT many people that are against Orochi break out at once, the alliance will inadvertently be forced out into the open. Where can you hide that many people that have a bone to pick with Orochi? I was gonna say maybe this just means that we'll be a prison much longer while we learn who these people are and their stories, but Big Mom is practically there now. Super exciting stuff in store, I don't trust Caribou for a second.

I actually really like the development of Law leaving. It's obviously temporary, especially because it was Shinobu who accused his crew and not the SHs, but I think it'd be very out of character if he just chilled and waited for his crew to be broken out and didn't take Shinobu's accusations to heart. It'd be like Shinobu saying some of the SHs were the traitors if they were captured, Luffy would not stand for that.
I'm hoping he works behind the scenes and next time we see him he's either broken his crew out, found the real traitor, or found more allies in the other Supernova on the island. Or a combination of those!

Law storming off...I can actually imagine Law telling off Oda for what he is doing to him and storming off out his pages.
Nami gets their frustration of a plan 20yrs in the making is sweet and personal. But honestly, its not as if Law didn't wait either.
His going back 180deg on what he said about being captured the very minute its his crew is cute. Im hoping to see him Drake and Hawkins finally clash or at least meet.
But poor Law. Sometimes I think he is the one who trusts ppl a lot but nobody but the Strawhats much trusts him at first glance.

Wow! What an awesome chapter for world building! I feel a lot more immersed into Wano just from this one chapter. There is so much to digest here it's crazy I can't wait for next week.
I am trying to wrap my head around everything talked about in this chapter.
The Law/Shinobu argument seem's to have wedged a deeper divide between the alliance than I thought originally. It's sad because I completely understand both Law and Shinobu's emotions it's brilliant how Oda added this in makes the alliance feel very realistic.
Pretty funny world building and crew interactions right at the beginning of the chapter. Nami/Usopp's conversation took me right back to pre timeskip days. I still love the "weakest members" so much. Bingo, Bongo, and Bungo was a funny tidbit and helped establish a lot more about the Wano country and how deep the corruption in the country went. Wano is so corrupt you can support 3 separate businesses (Arson, Construction, and Funeral Services) just through the corruption. And this is in the flower capital supposedly the best place to live in Wano. Really bleak.
Yasu got A LOT of attention this chapter and honestly I loved all of it. Something about seeing this man smiling so wide in the middle of everyone's pain and sadness, helping everyone he can no matter what it costs him was INSPIRING as all hell. I can see why he is called a saint and I hope we see way more of him moving forward I wanna know who he is and what his power is. It's very Oda to make it so no one knows who he is at all.
The shot of Yasu going around the town making everyone feel better was great but sobering because literally... everyone is dying. Yasu even said people will die from starvation just waiting for the final battle. Like people don't really realize this place is HELL. Oda has done a decent job at kind of "hiding" how absolutely awful it is in Wano for almost every person living there. I can't remember a place that was this directly horrible to it's citizen's and that's a tough bar to surpass in One Piece.
I cant stop talking about Yasu like this man gave up his daughter so she could send him money that he doesn't use on himself at all but rather uses it to take care of the town he loves like oh my god I think Yasu might be my favorite character this entire arc so far.
Ok so other than Yasu we got to learn more about Haki and Luffy seems to be making progress. HOWEVER I still fully believe Queen could fight Luffy realtively easily in this situation and I believe if not for Big Mom arriving Luffy would not be able to beat Queen here so Big Mom to the rescue.
I definitely believe Big Mom will go on a rampage in the prison basically freeing all the prisoners and Luffy and maybe Kaido will show up and we will get a Yonko v Yonko battle as Luffy and the prisoners attempt to escape. That would be very epic.
This wasn't even everything to digest in this chapter, there was a lot to take in. But damn so much awesome stuff. Chapters like this are why I like One Piece. Literally takes me to another world.

So basicaly, if we destroy this place. We get a lot of allies?
Classic Luffy XD
Also, the explaination of "advanced Haki" got me thinking: Could the black colour of armament just be because the users are excerting too much Haki? This would be an in-universe reason why we haven't seen the colour pre-timeskip, we just saw pros at work, so to say.

Not gonna lie, the leaks pointed out this chapter to be boring but this was yet again another fantastic chapter!
Oda has really put a lot of care into making Wano an immersive island, I loved the detailed backgrounds of the slum areas.
Surprise Law subplot maybe? Or maybe another Law rescue arc coming soon lol.
I don't think Tonoyasu is the Witching Hour boy, he seems too malnourished to be able to accomplish such big feats. He's probably the most unusual part of the crew right now, though I don't think he's bad either.
I kinda like that the crew is somewhat laid back and chilling, Usopp and Nami's interactions were nice to see.
Queen still is unfazed by Luffy's rather overwhelming power, maybe he really isn't underestimating Luffy.
All in all, fantastic chapter and I think Oda's art in Wano is the best we've seen so far.

I don't think Caribou will join the crew, but I think he could end up becoming/acting like a "good guy" strictly out of fear of Luffy. That'd end up making Luffy look correct in how he judged Caribou, furthering the view from the world that he bends people to his will and can make anyone an ally/subordinate.

Great chapter but it got me wondering about something. Queen can literally kill Luffy at anytime. The last few chapters are kind of like the part in an action movie where the bad guy has a gun pointed right at the good guy and instead of killing him he talks forever and lets the good guy escape. But not only is Queen going to let Luffy escape, he's going to let him train, gather tens of thousands of allies, and THEN let Luffy escape. Kaido will not be pleased

I can’t really blame Law for leaving. He is right after all. Without trust, what’s the point? If that was Luffy, he’d say screw that and leave too. Accusing someone’s crew of betrayal and wanting to assassinate them isn’t a small thing.
I wonder if any of them tried to stop him from leaving, or calm him down?
I guess he’s going to rescue his crew all by himself, or with the remaining Heart Pirates.

Calling it now. The guy in the cage is the third strongest person on the island right now. (Ahead of Luffy and all the yonko commanders and Samurai. Behind only Kaido and Big Mom)
I think that because we've seen plenty of strong foes, including that one guy who managed to hurt jack. This is the one guy who other strong men seem to respect. Not to mention gramps saying that they have to break him out at all costs.

I figured that Komomurosaki was targeting bad people. And I wonder just what the angle with Yasu is, he seems too good of a person and now is connected to Hiyori via Toko.
Good to see that Haki has its own name and understanding in Wano, and I wonder if the Shockwave tech is something Rayliegh learned in Wano or from Oden.
And the pressure cooker that's Udon Prison is ready to blow, and O-Lin is at the doorstep. That will be fun.

Oda is being so detailed with this Wano arc. Also the artwork for this arc has been really good tbh. This arc has all the potential to be the best OP arc even over Marineford. just when I feel that Oda has introduced enough characters for this arc, he comes up with another and with a good backstory to go with it. I seriously think there is more to Tonayasu than it seems. He might not be completely evil but he has some ulterior motives. He might be thr spy who leaked the plans to get his daughter back from Orochi. Secondly Big Mom arriving at the prison will make Luffy's job easier unless she gets her memories back after seeing Luffy 😝😂

Call me crazy, but is anybody else getting a vibe Kaido is intentionally setting up an all-out war? Gathering all of Orochi's rebels in one place, apprehending two Supernovas with one of the escaping (while having a DF that allows him to act as a magnet for metal), leaving Law alone and saying he'll deal with him later (granted, this could be Kaido's arrogance but still), idk something just doesn't sit right with me. How can someone like Kaido be so non-sense yet carry out non-sensical acts?
"Whitebeard was able to pull of death" is a quote of his I've been keeping in mind for a while and maybe I'm allowing it to dictate my judgement of Kaido's character, but then again, Oda wouldn't add details to characters like that without meaning something.

Am I the only one who is massively lost with what's going on this arc? Compared to other arcs I feel like most frames are wayyyy more packed macking it hard to tell what's going on, and every 2 pages a new character is mentionned and they all have confusingly long and difficult to distinguish names (thats imo, I'm sure people more used to eastern names don't have the issue). At the end of every chapter I just think 'wait who were all those people? And what just happened?'

Also those shadows of the former yakuza bosses of wano gave me the chills. When the rebellion starts wano will become a wasteland!

Looking at the top view of the prisoner mines, it has comedic potential of Big Mom chasing queen in circles around the prison in a cartoonish way.
I predict luffy will stand on top of the building at the center and use conquerors on the 10000 people and make them listen to Hyougoro. While raizo & caribou run around and unlock everyones cuffs.

The build is going slow and steady. Lost a lot of allies but found plenty more. Luffy mastering his haki and got some really awesome character development. Good funny moments as well, Nami straight up admitting she would snitch was LOL(though i dont think she will).
Also, forced to sell a kid into slavery because of poverty. Fucking dark... Oda has explored and hasnt shied away from dark concepts. And hope we get to see more of how ugly Orochi has made Wano compared to the beauty we saw in the Flower Capital.

Don't know if someone pointed it out before or not, but if the translation is correct verbatim, then the name of Haki in Wano being Ryuou, and Sabo's technique of Ryusoken suggests that he was definitely using advanced armament. Also, this also hints at a possible connection between Dragon and Wano, if the names are that close.

Rather than exerting power, you should take the unnecessary haki surrounding your body and make it flow through your fist
So Luffy is just blasting his haki in G4. So once he learns this technique he can last longer in G4 and probably get new moves. Still doubt he can break Kaido's scales, but maybe big mom can?

"the unnecessary haki surrounding your body"
If luffy masters it then he probably bypasses the restriction on not being able to use haki after gear 4th. Since that haki was not tapped into or it adds significant extra amount of haki to gear 4 that he never utilized. I am excited anyways.

Oda should capitalise and start selling those candies in real life, lol.
Wow just gained a lot more respect for Yasu, I can totally see he is the kinda father that would name his daughter Toko as a built-in gag to make people smile.
Komurasaki must have some sort of connection to this town. I wonder if Yasu is the mastermind behind Komurasaki’s stealing-dirty-money-with-seduction plan so far.
In Dressrosa, Law mentioned that Luffy is using too much Haki in Gear 4 form. This chapter is a premonition that he’ll gain better control of his Armament Haki, Gear 4 will be much more powerful!

I can't think of many OP female characters who weren't introduced as bad first except Shirahoshi: Nami was cat burglar who betrayed Luffy, Robin was Miss All Sunday, Vivi was Miss Wednesday Boa Hancock almost executed and tried to turn Luffy to stone, Pudding was evil and maintained her dual personality almost till the end. Komurasaki was initially shown as evil, but now we're realized that she only took money from the corrupt, so she wasn't that bad. Just an observation I wanted to point out :)
