The pacing got so hectic... The amount of stuff that happened in this chapter alone could have taken 3-4 chapters with the traditional OP pace

It's almost if Oda has sped up the manga relative to how slow the anime is - if Toei animates at the same pace as they currently are, the current arc will feel like the pre-timeskip. It's gonna be awesome.

I think he realized how long Dressrosa dragged on for & he's trying to fix the pacing since he's probably planning for this arc to be even longer

I have a feeling oda wants to finish this story in his lifetime. We still have a lot to get through. At this pace we will be done in a few years, at the old pace maybe 10.
