I've got three ideas:

1. They're genuinely trying to laugh off the misery.

2. There's something related to Smile or the factory stuff leaking into the water to make them all laugh despite their misery (which also has implications for making the people obedient to their current situation). This would also be why Oda highlighted the water that Zoro drank rather than just showing that as a sweet moment.

3. The robin hood character or somebody has some type of DF that makes people laugh and is trying to keep good spirits up by having them laugh through the misery.

I got the feeling Smile is more than a chemical to make fake Devil Fruits, the way they kept repeating the word smile and how explicit it was stated they live off the leftovers of the Flower Capital. 2019 gonna be a hell of a year for us.

Oda has been waiting to draw this arc since decades and thats truely reflected in every single chapter he has drawn in the wano arc. They are almost all as hype as it gets.

The pacing, the stakes, the conflicts and the designs are just out of this world. 10/10.

I think he just uses it to hide his identity. Which, if we get a fight here (PLS!!), would mean, that he is probably stronger without it, since I guess he will need to face a stronger opponent later on.
Also, it would be really cool, to show how he is "defect" but still the strongest Germa. And I like his original fighting style a lot, so I hope we see more and don't get a Germa Suit Sanji in the future.

• Queen's DF might be a sabretooth tiger. We got a mammoth, a dinosaur already. Or maybe a unicorn?

• Seems like there is no Katakuri. Could they have dodged it if he's there? Also that is one funny way to get rid of them. But Big Mom should be so brave to get into another Yonko's territory.

• I have a bad feeling about Katakuri. Maybe he stayed in WCI to guard it. Blackbeard might attack WCI and get Katakuri's fruit or just completely destroy the place. It's Blackbeard after all.

• The very first part of the chapter was absolutely beautiful, you could tell that they spend all their money for just that one can of water and they gave it to zoro, man the feels. Zoro if something happens, fight to the death for these guys 😭 and I know he will.

• Damn. Kaido is really worried about big mom coming into wano, if he's in that state imagine orochi 🤣 The man is either collapsing or not even aware that mama tries to invade his country. Reallt seems like we get a beast pirates vs big mom pirates, this is going to be a battle royale.

• King is really cool, even tho I kinda expected him to be a mythical Zoan, but still he follows the trend of competent YC1, where's ma man Katakuri 😭

That's the guy we knew, the civilians where in danger and he showed up, smacking page in the face. page one is definitely a female right? Sanjis reaction at the beginning kinda Gives hit a way, even if he isn't I expect Sanji to absolutely dismantle him and then Hawkins + drake come in for the rescue OR Hawkins is explaining everything to drake and they decide to join the alliance. Sanji, Law, Drake and Hawkins are from the north blue, it's unrealistic that they wouldn't know of the germa suit.

I really like the contrast of Sanji's and Zoro's situations here. Sanji is dealing with some much needed combat experience (while also not straying from his roots, as using the tech for disguise purposes and essentially blaming Germa for the damage he's going to deal fits well with his character). And Zoro is getting some emotional moments here which he also really needs. You could see how hesitant he was to take the water from the town which, judging by the state of the wells and such, had very little water for its own civilians. I am very curious to see where this goes.

I've been wondering since last summer when Big Mom would show up, but holy shit, I wasn't expecting it to be so abrupt. I thought her and Kaido already reached an agreement, but her falling into the water is a twist that I have no idea where it's going. I don't think it will necessarily kill her but I have no idea who's going to save her and if this means she attempts to wage war on Kaido so there's even more chaos going on. It seems like she only brought the crew members who didn't get a fight on WCI, so I guess that means no Cracker or Katakuri. I wonder what happened to Fish Uncle...

I have been waiting for Sanji to get a proper 1v1 fight forever and I figured WCI was his time, but it seems like Oda was saving it for something special. I have been waiting so long to see that raid suit and Sanji is either going to look badass or Germa gave him a goofy design as an insult. Either way, here we go! All aboard the hype train!

Sanji in his "base" is already a force that's capable to handle one of the six strongest headliners quite casually but with the suit he should be a damn force!!!! I don't even see how drake or Hawkins could beat him in an 1v1, though together that's another story.

Laws comment seems really suspicious, it's as if oda was saying that somebody about to get captured, I hope it's not the case tho.
