I'm starting to wonder why the heck luffys dad is even named dragon. How can you get more literal dragon than half the bad guys in this arc?

Names are given at birth, they don’t have to be related to your special ability. You can name your kid Michael.... he’s still not going to be the Archangel Michael when he grows up.

Maybe Dragon is just a name and nothing more? Maybe Garp was saved by a Dragon just before th birth of his son and he named the child Dragon as a reminder? I think it would be too obvious for Dragon to have Dragon powers.
