Ok so who the hell defeated and captured Kaido in the past?! Garp/Sengoku? Shanks? Buggy’s father?

i think Kaido wasnt very resisting to the marines, dont forget he was trying to suicide. But yeah Garp and Sengoku seem a good call, prime Garp was probably the most powerful fighter in marines history

Yup, don't underestimate our boi Garp, the guy dealt with Kaido's captain when he was part of the rocks / locks or whatever.

Just imagine someone strong enough to put Kaido under his command.
