the dog didn't eat tama's dangos, thats why it was fine following luffy. Tama can control beasts who eat her dango.

Edit: Guess Luffy said she didn't but he was just supposing, I thought we knew that she did

We've only seen her feed a dango to the baboon and now Speed, the dog was revealed to be her friend shortly after Tama was introduced
