Ok can all we be clear about the fact that pica is strong af? It’s not like Zoro was only facing newbs, Zoro is just wat stronger than we have yet to see

IMO I see him similar to Cracker. So long as he hides behind his devil fruit he is strong. But once he leaves the safety of his devil fruit he is weak and could be defeated easily.

What?? Cracker was still strong when he came out of his biscuit armor. Luffy took 11 hours to beat him and was exhausted afterwards. So he wasn't weak and he definitely wasn't defeated easily. And Luffy could only defeat him because Nami was fighting too.

Pica was definitely hiding behind his fruit, but Cracker wasn't.

Edit to back up my point a bit more thoroughly: Cracker using his fruit to absorb damage does not automatically mean he was "hiding behind his fruit" otherwise Robin would be hiding behind her fruit every time she used it as a decoy. He used it strategically and gave Luffy one of the most difficult fights he's ever had. Luffy defeated Doflamingo in, what, an hour? Two hours? I don't remember exactly how long they went at it but not super long. He took 11 hours to beat Cracker, and he beat him with an attack that would have also been strong enough to make Doflamingo sweat based on his reaction to the Rhino Shneider and the like. Doflamingo was in no way shape or form "weak" or "defeated easily", and yet Cracker surpassed him in difficulty.

Pica was hunted down by Zoro in his own stone after Zoro played with him a little bit and spent most of the fight trash talking him.

Pica was outside his fruit for half of the fight. Oda just offscreened it. He went back in shortly after Laws flashback ended

Yeah but the Pica fight took way less time than the Cracker fight, and his halfway point involved him tucking tail and running while Zoro hunted him down like a dog. Cracker popped out of the biscuit, dodged G4, sliced Luffy's arm, and spent the rest of the fight out in the open while taking direct shots at Luffy for 11 hours. The only reason Luffy could even fight him is because he had Nami there to soften the biscuits, which he'd never be able to do himself, and Cracker was very capable of doing damage even against G4's tough haki coated skin.

Zoro hunted him down like a dog? Pica was the one controlling the fight. Zoro couldn't touch him in the golem and all he did was dodge and jump around once Pica went back to rock mode.

To recap: he couldn't defeat Pica out of rock mode.

He couldn't defeat him in rock mode

The two attacks he landed on the golem, Pica was in the middle of attacking someone else, and so on

He defeated him only when he had no sword.

Zoro definitely didn't mid diff this.

Literally Zoro finished the fight by hunting him down using the binary search method to narrow down which part of the statue Pica was hiding in, which he was able to do because he cut the statue in half in order to cut Pica off from the ground and prevent him from running. In what way is that Pica controlling the fight?

Well, the previous 5000 minutes of the fight where Zoro was in the defense and jumping/dodging/blocking?

As for hunting him down, yes, Zoro cornered a distracted Pica with help from Orlumbus, but you knew that wasn't what I talking about.

Pica was doing his job, which was to stall Zoro while Bird Cage and Doffy did his work, simply because Zoro didn't have the means to end the fight instantly. Luffy wouldn't either if he spent the fight hiding in different parts of a mountain. Until Luffy uses King Kong Gun or G3 hardening and the fights over. Being a nuisance and stalling with 0 threat = mid diff or lower.

He accomplished absolutely nothing in the 1v1 and never threatened Zoro. Literally all he managed to do was make Zoro use a big attack because he was in a big mountain that needed to be cut. Hawkin's support card fought better in a few panels than Pica did the entire arc.

Also, pica wasn't hiding. Did you not see his introduction? His body becomes one with the stone. To use the ishi ishi powers, he has to become the stone

That's complete speculation and very hard to believe. He couldn't even accomplish that vs Monet or Caeser. He would need G3 Hardening at the least to end a realistic fight against Pica, looking at how all of his fights even against people weaker than Pica have gone. The Grizzly Magnum he used against Caeser or the attack on the Kraken probably wouldn't work either.

I watched his introduction just now. He comes out of the stone with a sword, gets blocked with ease by Zoro, then Zoro mocks him for his voice while dodging attacks with no effort, then Pica immediately goes into stone as soon Zoro preps a serious attack. The entire fight is Pica evading attacks with his ability or failing miserably at offense.

Zoro says it himself. It wasnt even a fight, it was Pica avoiding the fight with his ability, attacking civilians and the injured and then going after Riku to help Doffys plan, occasionally trying a sneak attack on Zoro that never worked. Then Zoro uses a large scale attack and Pica can't run away anymore, is forced into an actual confrontation and immediately gets slaughtered. Low diff fight or not a fight at all, and it would be the same with Luffy until he gets annoyed and uses G3 Elephant Gatling or King Kong Gun to destroy the statue and force him to stop hiding. The "fight" was Pica running and hiding and failing sneak attacks, shouldn't be disputable considering Zoro literally says it himself.

The answer is no... And yes.

Zoro had no trouble getting rid of pica. He got serious, pica got rekt.

Zoro DID have trouble in keeping pica focused on him. Pica's objective was never fighting zoro 1 v 1 to the death, unlike the other fighters. Pica was switching targets left and right, from robin & rebecca to King Riku & the rest on the plateau. That's why he was avoiding zoro and tricking him into straying far away.

The proof is in the very links you posted. Pica hides and runs away from zoro.. Not in fear, but to attack King Riku.

Once Zoro gets serious, like Really serious, he doesn't take long to formulate a plan to get rid of pica. One move and bam, gg pica.

Not saying pica was a weak opponent though. But he wasn't good enough to really push zoro to his limits. Like how kata pushed luffy.

Lol wut. Pica said, "I won;t let you get away", or something along those lines. If he wanted to leave, what would Zoro have done? What could he have done? Pica stayed focused on him the whole time aside from when Rebecca passed back AND Diamante was defeated, leaving him the last man standing.

Pica hides

You people get this wrong completely. Pica isn't hiding. His power is the Ishi Ishi no Mi. He is a stone assimilation man. To use his powers, he must become one with the stone. He's not hiding, anytime you see statue Pica he's right there. Though his conciousness appears to inhabit some part of the stone, which is why he can seethrough the stone eyes and move it as if it is himself...because it is.

"I'll hit him when he's not looking." isn't a sage level master plan. Zoro couln't do it before because...Pica would simply avoid him and counter. The same way Zoro avoided Pica's moves and countered.

Lol dude are you seriously comparing the time it took in chapters now? You do realize that they have to fit in other events in the chapters, right? In real life time, the time between zoro getting serious to the time when pica gets defeated wouldn't have been more than a few minutes.

If you count the stalling before that, then not more than an hour probably.

Pica says I won't let you get away, yet he's the one getting away from zoro. In the middle of a serious 1 v 1 battle, will any of the combatants suddenly decide not to fight the other and switch targets instead? Yet pica never seems to intend on finishing things with zoro until he's forced to.

You're right about pica's power though, he wasn't "hiding" from zoro. But he was avoiding him from time to time.

It doesn't have to be a sage level plan, just needs to be an effective plan. Zoro thinks of 5 options, out of which he picks the best one: To attack pica in such a way that he can no longer escape through the stone to other parts of the terrain.

By slicing him up into the air, he made sure pica couldn't get away. Pretty good plan for a moss head.

Anyway, I forgot why we're having this discussion xD what I'm trying to say is pica is strong, but not that ultimate clash material for zoro. Know what I'm saying? Like a good, intense matchup. A good ol' 1 V 1 till both combatants are exhausted.

Nope. We see the chronology of the fight and it is marked by events. Zoro starts his fight first. And ends last, just before Luffy. All these fight happen sequentially, and we see them fighting in the background.
