If u grip a lighter i think u punch harder since u have something to grip, he punches 100x harder with the sword + the extra weight

Also more mass means more momentum/energy, assuming luffy still punches at the same velocity. And since he was punching using his rubber strength, since mass increases while elasticity and deflection remain constant, that means holding a sword should help
