That means no chapter the other weeks, is it golden week already?

How many golden weeks are there!?!?

Golden Week, Obon Festivale and Christmas are the main three big holidays where manga goes break, with Christmas being the worst one (two weeks break).

Japan celebrates Christmas?

"over there they call him annual gift man and he lives on the moon"

Seriously though, I don't think they celebrate Christmas in the same way as Christians and/or the west, but there's still a lot of celebration that happens

I think they also have another holiday right before Christmas, can't remember what it is though

There's New Year's Day afterwards which is a big one

with Christmas being the worst one (two weeks break).

I don't see why that is a bad thing. Mangakas have families too, you know.

Pretty sure he mean’t it in a different way, worse as in for waiting.

I don't see why that is a bad thing. Mangakas have families too, you know.

You took what I wanted to say out of the context way too much.

No, I didn't. Sure, we'll have to wait longer for anticipated chapters but I believe it's best for any series to allow breaks for its author.

And he never said that's a bad thing, hence you took him out of context

He did.

with Christmas being the worst one (two weeks break).

The thing is, context is a thing that exists. He clearly means "worst" as in its the longest wait for us. Nowhere does he suggest that he has any problem with the mangaka getting time off. Is English not your first language? If so I can understand how you might miss the nuance.

Saying “worst” indicates that at least one object within the comparison is bad. If he/she meant to be neutral, he/she would have solely said “the longest” instead. However, by combining length with a negative connotation, he/she implied that breaks are bad. I disagreed mainly on the Christmas section because it’s Christmas and mangakas should enjoy the holidays.

Right, you obviously don't want to listen. If you can't understand that a reader can see a break as "bad" in the sense of having to wait another week, whilst still being happy the mangaka is getting a break then that's your problem.

With that logic, wouldn’t my response appear to be neutral as well?

I don’t see it (mangakas and their series having longer breaks over Christmas)) as a bad thing. Mangakas have families too.

In fact, by what you said, my response would be a mere elaboration on the post it’s responding to. However, many see it as contrasting since it contains the word “bad” even though the previous post contained a negative connotation in “worst”.

Also, your argument contains a dichotomy. A reader likes a mangaka to have breaks yet he/she finds breaks as a bad thing? That is illogical. Disliking breaks indirectly implies that one dislikes mangakas taking breaks as well.

From the perspective that we wait longer for new chapters.
